Welcome to the new monthly Sketch/Scraplift challenge! Each month, I will post either a sketch, or a LO for you to lift, or draw inspiration. I am posting this today, because I will be out all day tomorrow and don't want to miss posting day!  Here is the LO SKETCH challenge for September:  (click to enlarge) As you know, in scraplifting/using sketches, your LO's can end up looking exactly like the inspiration piece, or you can let your creativity run wild! These are just jumping off points to get you rolling. Have fun, and link your LO's back to this thread so that we can all see your piece of art and give you some lovin'!  Happy September!!! KikiPea, I love the sketch. Left some love in the gallery. cannmom, I found your layout in the gallery. Great job! Left you love. I struggle with 12x12 sketches because I scrap 8.5xll and can't seem to wrap my mind around a way to translate them very well. But I'm hoping I'll get a chance to try this challenge this month. Thanks for hosting @kikpea!

Thanks nylene! I think this sketch would translate well to 8.5x11 I would just use a smaller size photo. Love to see what you come up with. My background paper is Simple Stories. The design on the bottom with the anchor is part of the paper. Really super easy page with that design element already there.  sometimes I struggle with pp that has that kind of design, but it really worked with this sketch. |

cannmom, I was having trouble posting a link from the gallery. LisaDV sent me a pm with these instructions: For Images. Pull up the image on flickr. In the bottom right corner of the black area is a star, a share arrow and a download arrow. Click the share arrow. Choose your size and the BBCode. Copy the link. Then when you are in Reply mode on the forum, the bottom tabs say either HTML or BBCode. Choose the BBCode tab. I just had to insert the copied text. I didn't even use the link button, I just pasted my text. This worked for me. You do need to be in Reply (on the right) rather than Quick Reply. Hope this helps.

mikklynn, that is the cutest photo on your layout. Love the girly colors. I left you some love on Flickr. abr79 and cannmom, thanks for the advice on changing the sketch to 8.5x11. I have found my photo and am working on it. I appreciate your encouragement.

This is my attempt at doing the sketch 8.5x11 but I'm thinking now that I need to extend the green strip to the bottom and put a thin dark frame around it. molitva, that is a great page. I love the tiny little yellow hearts and your clusters of embellishments. Great job of layering behind the photo. YOu did a great job with the sketch.

thracian, those are great layouts you made from your stash kit. I've always wondered if I'd get sick of the leftover paper in a kit. You seem to have done some really great and different designs and layouts with yours. Nicely done. Those papers are so pretty. bklyngal62, what a great idea to turn the sketch on the side. I love this. I love those blues, and love the stripes you used. The little anchor collage is the perfect accent. Now I want to do this sketch again and turn it on its side. I think I can make that work for 8.5x11. Thanks for sharing your inspiration.
