I've had absolutely no luck using any of the white journaling pens. The ink never comes out consistently and you can tell where I have to go over things again. I've used the uniball and sakura roller pens.
Any tips or tricks?

I thought my pen was a uni-ball. But their boxed away at the moment. But I did go through many pens to find one that I liked. I think it's a signo. I store all my pens horizontally, it was a tip I'd received long ago for brush markers. I've not had any problems with it other than sometimes I have to clean the tip off.

The Uniball Signo is probably the best of the bunch, but even then they go bad and get gummed up if you don't use them frequently. I usually end up buying a new one every time I want to write something with white ink because I just don't use them often enough and they dry up and start to skip.

I have the same trouble. Right now I am using an Inkessentials (?) pen and it skips, blanks out & the line is basically a *track*.
I'll be picking up the Uniball Signo.

I've always used the Sakura white pens, without too many problems. One in awhile, it does skip but, if you scribble with it for a bit to get the ink flowing consistently again, it should work fine after that. Also, I've learned that if you try writing slowly, the ink flows better, too.

I use uniball signo also and most have been fine, though I had one which never wrote well. Don't know if it's true but I read somewhere you can have problems if they've been dropped so maybe that's the issue with at least some.

I gave up on white gel pens a LONG time ago! I've been using a Sharpie Ultra Fine Paint Pen. Works every time and is just a tad bolder than a gel pen with none of the issues. I have them in the store and sell a ton of them after people see a few samples of how bright white it is on a black paper and how it doesn't dry out or skip when writing with it!

I've had the best luck with Signo pens. They do however go bad after not using them for a while. Did not know why until today

I've looked at those and wondered how well they worked. Is it oil or water based? I've seen the tips for writing in oil based and the larger ones in water based. I wasn't sure about oil based paint in my scrapbook though so I never bought one. I'd love to try one.

Stick it in a cup of hot water (Uniball Signo) I'll have to try that! I haven't had too many problems with them. I love the black, blue, and red ones, too. I found them on Amazon, by the way.

Does anyone know if you can find those Sharpie Ultra Fine Paint Pens at Michael's? I might give them a try if they're brighter than the gel pens.

Good to know about the Sharpie. I'll have to look out for those, so TFS. Would also love to know if any of the big box stores sell them (M's, J's, Staples, etc.) as I no longer have a LSS

I have a uni-ball signo that is working pretty well for me right now.
I keep it stored upside down. i don't know if that helps.

Uh oh, I might have to look for the Sharpie Ultra-fine Paint Pen in white and give it a try. I got one at Michael's. My daughter needed it for a school project. It is locked up at our store, so you may want to check out the cage first before going to where regular sharpies are. I have never had an issue. I aleays store it on its side, give it a shake, then doodle on a scrap piece, then journal.
