We haven't been to a Halloween party in several years, and were invited to one this year. We usually just sit in our driveway to hand out candy, so we dress as the same thing every year...we just wear Dallas Cowboy jerseys, with black strips under the eyes, and I wear a ponytail with a big ribbon bow. ANYWAY, this year, since we were invited to a party, we decided to go as Shamy (from Big Bang Theory). So many people here told me I look like Amy with my readers on. So, if you dress up for Halloween, what are you going to be?

My toddler is going to be a dragon so I'm going to be the Paper Bag Princess and my DH will be Prince Ronald.

My daughters decided back in May (yes May) that we were going to be the Pink Ladies.

We're going steampunk. I even managed to get my husband on board and I never get my husband on board. I bought all the stuff to make costumes five years ago (hangs head) and I have never had time to make them. I'm on mat leave this year so this is the year! I even snagged an old Victorian pram for the new baby.
My daughter is going to a party on another day and she is being Jareth the Goblin King from Labyrinth and we are dressing my son (6 months) in the red and white striped jumper like the baby in the movie. She is very excited to have a matching costume with her new bro.

Our school does a huge family dress up night and it gets very competitive amongst the teachers Since I'm the librarian, I usually do book characters. ( in past years: Pipi Longstocking, Johnny Appleseed, Amelia Bedelia). This year I'm going as either Rosie the Riveter or Paper Bag Princess. It's my favorite school event of the year.

I saw an art photograph in a series which was a Vegas cocktail waitress wrapped in Christmas lights carrying a tray with drinks. I'm going as that.

My daughter wants to be Mal from Disney's new Descendants movie, so logically I am going to be her mom, Maleficent.
Last year she and I were Elsa and Anna, DS was Minecraft Steve and DH was a Creeper.
The year before the kids were minions, DH was Gru and I was Vector.
We enjoy doing family costumes! You don't have to have a perfect costume when the rest of the family is also dressed up and helps to reinforce what you are.

At work people dress up and win prizes. Last year a co-worker and I were Thing 1 and Thing 2. This year we are going as Salt and Pepper. I saw the costumes on pinterest. We like homemade costumes that don't cost a lot of money to make.

Our neighbors host a themed Halloween party each year, and this year's theme is 'magic'. My DH just binge-watched Arrested Development, so he's going to be Gob the horrible magician and I'm going to be the 'loose seal.' I have no idea how I'm going to make myself a seal costume, but I've got time to figure it out, right?

I'm going as the Joker and SO will be Batman. I'm doing some really cool makeup, so hopefully I will win the contest we have at the office. I'm looking for redemption since last year, I came in 2nd place to a guy who wore some stupid clown mask. Here's my pic from last year. I was Jigsaw from the Saw movies.

Once we had an office costume party. The person who won wore a professional costume which i think was unfair. I came in second with Cruella deVil, only beating out someone in a store bought costume because they counted all the votes for "lady gaga" as my costume as well. Haha!
