I was always a Shawn Cassidy fan!! He's done much better.. lots of behind the scenes work now. Ok, I'm a little embarrassed to admit that I watched the "Behind the Music" episode about David Cassidy - Shaun said in an interview that he handled his "teen heartthrob" years unscathed because he had seen what happened to David and the crash that comes when a teen dream tries to transition to more grown-up roles. (I almost typed "transition to an adult performer", but that implies a movie rating that I don't really mean )

I saw his Vegas show too, back in the late 90's, he still had it then.

All the people in my life who declared bankruptcy got to keep everything they had (ie house, cars) and ended up with no debt and material wise were much better off then the rest of us. They were inconvenienced with not being allowed access to any credit for a few years. So no credit cards, loans etc. I know for a long time I honestly thought if you declared bankruptcy you lost your home, your cars etc as they would be applied to your payments. But no you keep them. You declare bankruptcy to prevent losing your business, home, cars etc. Former bankruptcy attorney here. This is in large part dependent on state law. Although bankruptcy statutes are federal, they depend on state law as well. Federal law provides certain exemptions ( what you get to keep), but if your state's exemptions are more generous, you can use those instead. There is a reason that people sometimes try to obtain residency in Texas or Florida before filing. Those two states have an unlimited homestead exemption -- you can own a million dollar home and exempt it from the assets that are used to pay creditors.
