I ran errands this morning, a job I especially hate the day after a trip. I also stopped at the local steakhouse and had their "Nooner" which was a hot turkey sandwich with real mashed potatoes and homemade gravy Can't beat it and it's only $7.25. The Nooner menu changes every day but this is my favorite. Seeing as how I ate it all I'm planning a light dinner. I'm going to make some egg salad and have it on toast. I'll probably follow that with a banana because yes, I still don't like them but I crave them. What's on your menu tonight?

Pasta with spicy marinara. I've felt "off" a couple of days and just need something soothing.

akathy you crack me up with the not liking bananas but yet you crave them Dh and I have another meeting to attend tonight after work. It should only be an hour but it conveniently cuts right into dinner time. So..... we are stopping for a quick bite to eat on our way home. It's a local hangout place - nothing fancy but they have great mussels & steamers and pour a nice glass of wine

Today is a clean out the refrigerator meal - DH had spaghetti and meatballs (for what he said is the third time this week). I had a ham and pimento/cheese sandwich. When I worked and would take my lunch, I always had a pimento/cheese sandwich. Since I've retired, I haven't wanted one up until today. It was good and did NOT make me homesick for that 5-day work week. Now the refrigerator is cleaned out and ready to start over tomorrow with new dishes.

Baseball practice from 5-7. My plan is to drop off at practice then head grocery shopping. Because tonight we won't be home until close to 7:30 I was organized and last night made a pot of chili and baked a cornbread. Tonight all I need to do is add beans to the chili and re-heat.

I had carpal tunnel surgery this afternoon - we stopped at the chip shop on the way home from the hospital and shared a portion of chicken curry off the bone and chips.

I plan roasted cauliflower and green peas for sides. @pascoepea, get better soon!

I made some chicken wings with sugar-free BBQ sauce, used the oven before it got hot here. They're ready to go for dinner with some broccoli and leftover rice.

Wishing you a comfortable and easy recovery. This weekend you are entitled to eat whatever you want. What's your favorite dessert? I say, have it. I came here to get ideas for an easy dinner, because I am fried today. It might be Oyaku-Donburi(chicken, egg, rice, onion)or something else. Guess it's time to decide. ETA: DH suggested a fend night so that I could continue resting, since yesterday was a huge day. That was easy.

DH brought home a (relatively) itty-bitty little salmon last night, not enough to feed even two people really, so he's headed back out to the river tonight because he's determined that he's going to feed his family a HUGE SALMON FEAST sometime this weekend . I think the kids and I are going to order pizza .

Tonight was supposed to be Bunco night for me, but DH wanted to go camping with his buddies and I didn't want to leave the kids home alone at night. Yes, I know they're 13 and 14. But I wouldn't have been comfortable leaving them, so why go if you're not going to be able to relax?
So the kids decided on Papa John's pizza, their top pick when Dad isn't here.

I have no idea my personal chef left me. I'm confused? Tonight dd is going out to dinner with her boyfriend and his parents, my dh is trying to get home from the BMW Golf Championship and is supposed to go to dinner with a friend, his ds, and our ds. So...I'm eating leftover kielbasa and cabbage.

@pascoepea speedy recovery wishes to you! My mom had both her wrists done at once and I remember how she struggled.
DH will be home tonight so we are having NY strip steaks, roasted potatoes, and either roasted broccoli or corn off the cob that I froze earlier this summer.
I'm just so happy to have him home!
ETA - I'm not sure why it won't let me tag @pascoepea

I'll probably follow that with a banana because yes, I still don't like them but I crave them. Funny thing about bananas... when I was younger I really loved them. However over time, I got really particular, in that they had to be super yellow (almost green) with no black spots because then they were slimy to me. It's gotten to the point now where I refuse to eat a banana because all I can imagine is the sliminess and yet, I crave them all the time. Dinner for us will be State Fair food, more specifically, Green Chile Corn Dog.

Well 16 yr old dd informed us last night that she needs to start cooking more for her chef class. So she was going to make us dinner tonight, chicken Alfredo. But now she is going to a football game, so I guess that didn't last long I have to get gas tonight as we are on the road tomorrow before 7 am. So I will probably take dh to dinner.
