I'm reading fluff the next few books. I finished a couple of heavy subject, long books recently and I'm ready for something a whole lot lighter.
I also just finished The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo and I've got to say that chick has issues. I'm a very organized person that loves reading organizational books, but she's nuts. No, I'm not going to empty my purse every night, no I'm not going to pile every piece of clothing in my home on the floor in piles to go through and I'm certainly not going to tell my purses and clothes "thank you" every day for doing their job. I do think that her idea of looking at things when going through them and asking yourself if they bring you joy has some credence, but the rest of it was a big old pile of hooey.
I just started The Knockoff by Lucy Sykes that's a fun fashion novel and I also started Sidney Sheldon's The Sky Is Falling. I thought I had read everything that he had written before he died and even the books that his estate gave permission for another writer to continue, but this one slipped past me. I found it at a thrift store for 50 cents and couldn't remember reading it and now that I'm a few chapter in, I don't remember it which is awesome for me, because I loved his books.

I read And You Know you Should Be Glad: A True Story of Lifelong Friendship by Bob Greene. This was an interesting book about 5 friends who had been friends since elementary school. It was an interesting book that made me think about my own friendships.

journeyfan, you would probably enjoy COLD SASSY TREE by Olive Ann Burns. Lots of "Southernisms" and life lessons in that book. Looks like a good one so I reserved it at the library.
That's why I love this thread!!

I just started The Husband's Secret by Liane Moriarty. I'm only 20 pages in so no opinion yet. It was rated 4 1/2 stars on Amazon, so I'm hoping it will be a good read. I'm looking forward to reading After You by Jojo Moyes. It's due to come out on September 29th. I loved "Me before You" by the same author.

September always brings my reading into the scary/horror section for Halloween. Read 3 good ones so far.
The Catacombs by Jeremy Bates. Three friends decide to explore Paris' underworld of tunnels (catacombs). Some people explore & never return. This trio find people from the past; almost another species.
The Picture Frame : A Horror Novel by Ian Rob Wright. A picture frame curses the people who are in the pictures put inside of it.
Helltown by Jeremy Bates. A group of friends set out to investigate occult activity in a small town in Ohio. On the way there, they are run off the road by a hearse. They start dying one by one. Devil worship rituals.
ENJOY !

I finished Everything I Never Told You last week and really liked it. It was sad but the writing and story were great. 4 stars.
Last night I finished The Good Girl by Mary Kubica and enjoyed that as well. It was very readable and I really wanted to know how it ended so I read it pretty quickly. 3.5 stars for that one.
Next up is Luckiest Girl Alive or I Am Pilgrim Has anyone read that one? It's been getting great reviews.

I am currently reading "We are all completely besides ourselves" - for some reason I am having a hard time getting through it. I love reading about food and cooking and for some reason I just started getting Bon Appetite magazine so I have been reading that as well... I don't give up on books very often, but that is one I gave up on. I just could not get into it. Glad to know I am not the only one.

I did like The Good Girl.

I finished The Martian last week. It has been talked about a lot on here. I really enjoyed it but I think a key for me was listening on audio. I think I may have gotten bogged down with the scientific facts had I been reading the book. Excited to see the movie now!

I just finished the latest Christina Lauren book - Dark Wild Night (Wild Seasons #3). I adore this author (it's actually two women that write as Christina Lauren) and all of the books have been knock-out-of-the-park amazing! If you haven't read this author and you like new adult/new romance type of books you'll adore them! 5/5 rating!
I would start with Beautiful Bastard - it was their first book and my absolute favorite!
I also read Swimming Lessons by Mary Alice Monroe for my online bookclub but didn't think that was too great. 3/5 was the rating I gave that one.
