I have actually been scrapbooking! For one page I cut a free-hand kind of wavy border, but also wanted another layer between that and my background paper, so put another layer of cardstock between that (cut the same). It was 'missing' something, but when I trimmed it with my SCALLOPED SCISSORS(!) it made the transition so much nicer than a smooth edge!

An ancient plastic template that had a wavy edge. Used it and an exacto knife to make a little wave border for a beach-themed card in a PL page. My first completed layout in a looooong time. Are waves suddenly retro??

Probably my MS fringe scissors. I really love those scissors and the texture I get on my pages when I use them.

If we're talking the past month, then it would have to be one of those Paperkins templates. I traced & cut out a sock (and chalked it!) for a layout I was doing about my son leaving his socks all over the house.

I haven't used punches in years, but I recently used a shamrock punch on a project life page. It was a page about visiting my son at Notre Dame for Jr. Parents' Weekend. The shamrock punch was the perfect embellishment for a Notre Dame page. It was so cute, I may pull out my punches and start using them again. I'm also tempted to pull out all those decorative scissors I have stashed away somewhere.

My scrap stuff has recently been reorganized and corralled into one area, my very own scrap room, so it's much more accessible. I'm rediscovering and using all kinds of old things - punches, decorative scissors, CM wavy cutter. I actually used the original CM circle cutter and a paper corrugator thingy not long ago. It's like having new stuff, but most of it is from the 90's. My Zig markers from that era are still working too, and I have been known to add a Mrs. Grossmans sticker here and there.

My crop a dile. To make matters worse the larger hole punch side I was using and the part that goes down into the paper when you squeeze handle BROKE OFF! It's metal! I was so mad! Leave it to me to break something unbreakable

My original gummy glue remover thingie. It used to look square and it still works to remove excess adhesive from paper. I'm thinking it's over ten years old.

LOL I consider my Cropodile one of my new tools. I just sprayed a little WD40 on that baby and it works like new.

My corner rounder. I've had it since 2003 when I was still trying to art journal and hadn't started scrapping yet!

My original gummy glue remover thingie. It used to look square and it still works to remove excess adhesive from paper. I'm thinking it's over ten years old. My CM rep called this a pick up square. I wonder whatever happened to mine . . . I did just use an old plastic template (with cat and dog shapes). I couldn't find a doggie embellie (because I've never owned a dog), but found that old template with paw prints. It was perfect.

Coluzzel template and that weird knife. And I chose the template where you cut out circles and fold them over to create what looks like a chain across your page.
Yep. Old school for sure.

I used my paper piercer to pierce a hole for a brad and to open up a clogged bottle of glue. I've had the piercer for a long time, but it's something I use a lot, so I don't think of it as an old tool.

Reading all the responses reminded me that I have also used my CM corner rounder and circle cutter recently. I guess I use them so often that I don't think of them as old! When CM went out of business, I was thinking ahead and bought another set of blades to use with my cutters. And my paper piercer is in my tool caddy, along with the 'pick up square' for adhesive! And, I used my crop-a-dile a few weeks ago (for a different project). I'm happy to see that the 'tools of the trade' many of us started with, basic stuff really, were worth the price.
