A follow up on all the Tiny House living people, a year or 2 later. Wonder how many of them would still do it.

They should. I lived in a 10 by 10 dorm room (with roommate) for 4 years and that was enough tiny living for me!

I might could do it if I lived alone. Gotta have my space.

It'd be fun to see how many of the couples have murdered each other by now! I love my DH but I NEED my space!

I'm claustrophobic and I NEED my space so I don't think I could do it. It would be fun to know if people still enjoy their tiny houses though.

I would like to see that!
Our first 4.5 years of marriage, dh & I lived in a 500 sq. ft garage apartment on his parent's property. We moved in with one child (age 17mos) and moved out with 3 (youngest was 9mos). While we made the most of our space, there were no high ceilings or lofts.

Also, count the number of concussions and broken bones. The head injuries from sitting up too quick in those little loft bedrooms and the broken bones from falling off the tiny ladders during a half awake middle of the night bathroom trip.

DH and I just spent 10 days living in our truck camper (63 sq ft + plus a queen bed over the cab) on our recent road trip.
I love my hubby but...I want my privacy!

Some friends and I were just talking about that. I said, "I'm too old to climb up a ladder into a loft to go to bed." Even kids with bunk beds never sleep in the top bunk after the novelty wears off. No one wants to climb up there every night.

@giantsfan I grew up with my family traveling in a truck camper. 3 kids, 2 parents and a dog. I don't know how we stood it! But I have a lot of great memories of all the trips we took.

I think they are nutters! I just need more space than that even if it were just me. One this afternoon had a St. Bernard, I just kept thinking poor dog needs more room to roam than 10x4ft trailer!

I think I could do it as a vacation home if the area was nice enough to be outside most of the time. But fulltime, no way!

All it would take is one rainy day and I'd be climbing the walls. I'm so glad our cabin is close to our house so when the weather turns crappy we can just go home.

I agree.
I also wonder if any of them develop claustrophobia after living in those tiny spaces. That's what happened to me. When we first got married, we were living in a very sparsely populated area with very few living options, so we ended up living in what were once hunting cabins -- very tiny spaces. I did not have claustrophobia to begin with. But I developed it after living in those tiny spaces for 4 years. 30+ years later, I still have it.

I would use it for a vacation home but I don't know that I would like something that small for everyday (especially w kids).

Great idea, I would definitely watch.
I lived in a tiny New York City apartment with a loft. It was too hot in winter and too hot in summer. While a sleeping loft seems like a great solution to space constraints I think the physics of heat rising make it an uncomfortable solution.

What they should do is focus more on the "G"--other than Yard Crashers, which I hate because of the unrealistic costs for us average Joes, they have no actual garden shows. I also hate every House Hunters. I rarely watch that channel anymore.

I always wonder about the ones who move in with two little kids, often a boy and a girl. What are they going to do when the kids of different genders can no longer share a room, and it's often not even a room, but a loft! Or they move in with one toddler, and they don't give the kid an actual room. Kids grow fast!

And an RV seems to be a better lay out, better use of space for the money

What are they going to do when the kids of different genders can no longer share a room, While it is unusual in our generation, families have lived for millennia with mixed gender siblings sharing a room (and sometimes even with the parents.
