marykate - I love this page! The layering is perfect here but I really love the stitched circle - where is that from?

DH is determined to become a 46er, by climbing all 46 of the high peaks of the Adirondack Mountains. I'm impressed by his tenacity. What kit is the climbing paper from? I love the colors. I have a lot of camping and hiking photos, but I usually use Cosmo Crickets Mr Campy.

Chinagirl, Almost everything on that page (I think everything but the "Leaving on a Jet Plane" wordart) is from Designer Digitals (Katie Pertiet). The stitched circle is from a layered template -- Layer Works No. 560. I think you can also buy a pack of stitched circles separately.
The wordart ("Leaving on a Jet Plane") is from a very cool font and stamp set by Laura Passage (The Digital Press): Summer on the Go Mobile-Ready Font & Stamp Set.
GiantsFan, those papers and elements are from a kit by Kristin Cronin-Barrow (Sweet Shoppe Designs): Great Outdoors: Explore.

Thanks marykate - I got it. And they added a kit that was FREE if you spend over $10. BTW - I really like your pages.

I'm very excited to be going to Ireland in a couple of weeks. So excited that I decided to finally scrap a few photos from a trip I took 8 years ago!

Last summer, my son's Boy Scout troop took a trip to England and Scotland (they were hosted by a London-based Scout troop, which was pretty cool). Dh was one of the chaperones, and he sent me daily email updates. Matching up the daily updates with the photos = a travel album, with journaling (via email) already supplied by dh! Here are a couple of pages:

I'm a Canuck, so the New Jersey winter seems quite mild to me. The summer heat, on the other hand... Yes, it's very pretty here. NJ deserves its title as the Garden State.

My son turns 14 in another month (what?! how did that happen?!), and I'm finally getting round to completing an album of his first 12 years. Two layouts per year, from 2001 to 2012. The photos and memories surrounding this LO actually make me feel sort of sad. I love P.E.I. (the Canadian province of Prince Edward Island); I think it is one of the most special places in the world. The gently rolling hills leading to magnificent seascapes; the red soil producing the most delicious potatoes found outside of Ireland; and, yes, Anne of Green Gables. But this was the last summer that my mother lived here amongst us on this our earth. I desperately wanted her to make one last trip to P.E.I.; I offered to pay her airfare and lodgings and etc., but unfortunately she was just too sick. My dear little Mum died in December 2012, of a particularly evil and aggressive form of breast cancer.

marykate - Sorry about your Mum. Cancer Sucks! I lost a scrappy friend last year to an aggressive breast cancer. She was in her early 40's. So sad. On a good note. I love all your layouts and the kits you use. I started back to card-making and have been neglecting my digi scrapping. I keep saying that I needed a rainy day to scrap, but I live in California and it doesn't rain here.

Thanks, GiantsFan. Breast cancer is no joke, and no walk in the park, either. It kills thousands of women every year. And because I'm feeling a little bit sad and sentimental, here's a pic of my parentals on their wedding day. Boxing Day (= December 26), 1963. My Mum was fresh-faced, freckled, and adorable. My dad was tall, dark, and handsome, and he had that Black Irish thing going on. Both parents were hardcore Irish Catholic, and this photo was taken outside the Church of Our Lady of Fatima, Ottawa, Canada. Well, I am biased, of course, but I've yet to encounter a better-looking couple. I should scrap this photo, of course, but I honestly don't know how.

Another LO for my son's first 12 years album. Much as I'd love to see the Grand Canyon someday, I have to say that it's a good thing I wasn't on this trip!! Yes, that is my five-and-a-half-year-old son eating lunch on a ledge high above an enormous canyon (the Grand Canyon, no less). Just looking at these photos gives me heart palpitations.

Just returning home from a week in California.. I'm sure I'll be doing some more layouts, but here's the only one I've done so far: (This is my grandson)
