I'm a size 10, in my 50s and average height. It is so hard to find jeans that I like. Seems they are sized more for younger women, never seem to come up high enough and I am always pulling them up. I don't want to spend a fortune and I don't want old lady jeans, but I would love to find some good fitting ones.
Thanks, Ann

I like Kut from the Kloth and buy them at Nordstrom. They fit me well (though do run large - I size down) , are flattering and are reasonably priced.

Have you checked at Nordstrom, JJill, or Eddie Bauer? I would think those three shops would have something you like.
I'm 54, 5'3 1/2", size 6 and can usually find something I like at one of those stores.

I'm 5'4", older than you, and wear a size 6 or 8. Until recently my favorite jeans have been from the Gap (boot leg), but they're a little low in the waist (as in I need to really keep an eye out for any butt-crackage when I'm playing on the floor with my grandbaby.) A few months ago I found a great pair of Inc brand at Macy's, and I LOVE them. Super comfortable, still boot leg but high enough that I'm not always checking to be sure there's nothing showing behind me. I highly recommend them.

I love Silver jeans. The Suki fit is mid-waist and they fit really well. Very flattering for all ages.

American Eagle and Loft. I like boyfriend jeans, straight leg jeans or skinny jeans, as long as they have a mid rise waist.

I like Levi's Perfectly Slimming Jeans. They sit at waist and snug your tummy.

I like the Riders by Lee. And I usually buy them at Fleet Farm. Maybe that makes me a cowgirl?

I was a size 10 and I'm 5'4" and the Sonoma jeans at Kohl's fit me perfectly. They're just right on my waist, not too high or too low and the length is good for me. They just fit really well. And you can always catch them on sale and/or use the coupon.

I love Levi's Curvy Bootcut. They are cut higher in the back, so you get good coverage. I buy them at Macy's. I also like Not Your Daughter's Jeans too. They are available at Macy's and Nordstrom.

I am cheap. $14.99 Gloria Vanderbilt Amanda jeans from Costco. They fit me perfectly and the price is right. They are the same ones that Kohl's sells on sale for $25.

I love Silver jeans. The Suki fit is mid-waist and they fit really well. Very flattering for all ages. I second this - I also buy the Suki cut. I buy mine at Bergners (Carsons). My issue with jeans is usually length (not long enough) and I can find these in my length. Love them! I've also picked them up on sale at Maurice's.

Before I became curvy, aka plus size, I loved Gap jeans and Lucky jeans. I'm tall and use to be quite thin with a long torso and not much hip. Those two brands just worked best for my body type. Now I'm addicted to Se7ens for the most part.

My mom bought a pair of the JJill authentic fit dark wash jeans a few years ago, and I loved how well they fit her and she raved about them. She normally gets her clothes from thrift stores, consignment stores, clearance racks, so the fact that she raved about an $80 pair of jeans and would buy another pair was enough for me to try them out. Hers are still going strong, and they're about 8 years old.
I really didn't have $80, but I found a pair of their mid rise (hit me right below the belly button) "skinny" jeans in grey--they're really straight legs-- $30 on clearance.
I loved them so much, I've bought two other pairs. I'm 5'7 and am a size 12/14 --my abdomen swells so I need the larger waist band and the skinnies still look fine a little loose.
These jeans wear like iron but are so comfortable. I like J Jill's quality, and their basics are nice. They also have great sales online. Some of their stuff is a bit older ladyish, but I just get their tees, jeans and pants. Sadly many of the brands that cater to 20/30 sometimes are really lacking in quality. I used to love GAP, but their quality has really gone downhill. I will buy their tees and basics, but I get them at the outlet. They're just not worth the price in the retail store.
ETA: I just bought some black, navy and chocolate brown Wearever matte jersey pants from JJill this summer. I got the wide leg pants in black and the skinnier legs in all 3 colours. They feel like pajama pants and have a hidden elastic waistband, but they look really nice. I've been looking for matte jersey pants that are thick enough to not show off dimples in my thighs, etc. for quite a while.

Another vote for Silver jeans, I started wearing them about a year ago and I love them. Length was always a problem for me, but I get these in a 33 and it's perfect. I just bought 2 pairs at Maurice's, they have BOGO 50% off right now.

I got a pair of Not Your Daughter's Jeans this summer and my ass has never looked so good-almost like it did back in the dark ages. So good in fact that I want to walk around with a sign that says 'look at my ass, doesn't it look young and cute?' Never mind I am almost 50, short enough that people wonder how I reach the high shelves in the kitchen and fluffy enough to poke and loose a finger-my ass looks GOOD. (also known as about 5'1" and a size 8.)

I love this thread! I know there have been threads in the past about jeans, but I can't figure out the search feature on this board so I figured I would never know what jeans everyone liked. I am going to bookmark this. There were some that many recommended in the past, and I can't remember what they were.
I am 5'8 about 140 (size 10)and hate jeans! My legs are so long, so I look ridiculous in jeans because I look all leg and no torso. Once the low riders came out, I looked much better and my rear so much smaller! But then I sat down and realized that the jeans I look better in standing don't work for sitting! I need jeans to "shorten" my legs and make my rear look smaller. Mom jeans are the worst for me!

I'm another fan of the NYDJ brand. I find them at Nordstrom Rack, ebay, and occasionally Marshalls. I've never paid over $25 for a pair. Although since they are so comfortable and fit me perfectly, I'd consider paying full price.
