When my sister and I were very young we weren't allowed to see "monster" movies because my parents felt that we were too young. My cousins on the other hand saw all the latest monster movies and I was so jealous. We spent the night at my aunt's house one weekend and she let us go see The Blob and Blood Rust. My parents were pissed and I had nightmares for weeks afterwards. I was very young but remember thinking at that time that my parents were right, I shouldn't have watched those movies.

There was a movie, based on a true-story book, called "Sunshine." It was about a young mother who had cancer in her leg and was dying. She made a series of tape recordings to leave to her daughter, Jill. I have read that book so many times during my life, and I was only in grade 2 when I first read it. The movie had the song, "Sunshine on my Shoulders" by John Denver as a theme song. I watched it again a few years ago, via a very grainy Youtube video. It's funny how different my point of view was watching it as a mother than it was when I was young. The book is one of my favorites of all time. OH that movie made me sob!! Where the red fern grows. Mrs. Miniver Dr. Zhivago The Birds... though I really hate it.

I am thinking there could very well be something wrong with me. I have never seen The Wizard of Oz all of the way through because those damn monkeys freaked me out. I have seen Wuthering Heights and that is it. I have heard of these movies, but I have never seen the ones listed.

I just watched The Way We Were. Boo-hoo, boo-hoo...
ETA: This movie was not made until 1973. Still a great oldie that I loved even then. I was right out of high school when it came out.

All About Eve and Now, Voyager in addition to others mentioned here. I guess I have a thing for Bette Davis.

I loved Portrait of Jennie. It would come on fairly regularly after Perry Mason (which I watched when I was home sick or no school days). I don't really know what captured me so much about that movie, but I adored it.
