My nieces and nephews are growing up too fast and I am feeling really stumped for fun Christmas gift ideas this year. I've got two 13-year-old girls, two 14-year-old girls, a 15-year-old boy and an 18-year-old boy to buy for. I don't have kids of my own but I have a reputation in the family for giving great gifts to the kids, so I have to bring my A game! Oh, and my limit is $50 per kid. Edited to add--Some great ideas, thanks!!! Forgot to mention that all these kids live far away from me. If they lived close, I would definitely do "experience" type gifts. I miss them! The 18-year-old is looking toward college, has a truck and a girlfriend and a part-time job. The 15-year-old runs track and is really into his group of friends. The girls are somewhat easier to buy for, but I still want something fun and special for them. So I really appreciate the ideas!

Star Wars will be released the week prior to Christmas. Is there anything from that franchise that someone might like?

My 17 year old wants a 3d printer. But at $700 I don't think it's even in my price range. He may be disappointed Christmas morning.
My 14 year old wants the Minecraft stop motion movie maker set. He likes to make movies.

This won't be expensive at all and maybe a bit more silly, but would the girls be into the adult coloring books at all? Maybe paired with a nice (nicer than Crayola anyway lol) set of colored pencils? I actually found a Game of Thrones one for someone on my list (not teenager, but in her 20s). Maybe since they're "in" right now, they might go over well!

Any of them have a Samsung phone? My 17, almost 18yo DS wants that charger that has been advertised the last couple of months. I believe it's cordless. My almost 15yo is into makeup so she'll probably get something makeup related. Maybe some nice brushes or GC to Sephora or somewhere we don't normally shop. Good luck, I know how hard it is to buy at this age!

Argh, My DD turns 18 at the end of November so I'm too busy trying to work out what to get her for her birthday that I haven't even thought about Christmas yet. I will probably buy her boyfriend, who is 19, a gift card of some description. As you can see, I do not have a reputation of giving great gifts!!

I wish I knew. I love Christmas decorations but hate the gift part since it's so hard to buy for teens and still stick within a budget. My kids are 18 (DD) and 15 (DS) and have everything they need and most of what they want. DD has asked for a Disneyland ticket (before Christmas) as part of her gift which I'm fine with. DS wants just gifts. They already have Macbooks and Iphones so the small stuff will have to do but I don't want to buy stuff just to have stuff to open.

My 17 year old DD wants cold, hard cash. Easy for me since we'll be traveling overseas during the holidays so hauling gifts isn't very practical.
Sorry I'm no help - teenagers love cash and gift cards though.

My ds is a 17 year old senior, and most of his gifts this year are going to be dorm related-a keurig mini, a tv, and then some books, lots of gift cards and probably cash. I have a few other things, but I don't remember what at the moment. Ultimately, any gift you give has to be suited to the individual child's age, interests and life situation, so asking for suggestions here is kind of a crapshoot. I will say that once they can drive, the gift cards become more important/valuable. I'm not sure my ds has needed cash to pay for a meal in the last couple years thanks to my mom!

Do you see them often? Do they see each other often? What about an "experience" type gift? Look for Groupons to see if there is something fun you can do individually with them or all together. Zip lining? Indoor rock climbing? Mani/pedis? Lunch & a movie?

My kids really love gift cards. I wrap them in fun ways. I've put them in a new wallet or makeup case, one of those puzzles that you have to solve to release the card (very popular), in a box of candy, or in an ornament. I tried folding money, but I couldn't get it to work.
Fast food, movies, and clothes are their favorites. They say that it's a double gift -- they get to open it and then they get to go shopping.

Alas I am no help!
We are giving all 3 of our kids money this year - they all want something pricey (DD 20 wants some computer/gamer fancy thing, DD 18 wants money for school, DS 14 wants Jordan shoes for basketball). So we agreed to give them cash (plus other smaller things!)
Would an experience with each of the kids be a good thing? Like movie dates, or a spa visit, or something like that?

What's a hair wand? A straightener? I'm usually in full swing Christmas shopping already. I'm hitting a wall. All I've bought so far was a pair of ear buds for DS' stocking (the new Star Wars theme). I think ds, 15, said he wants a new laptop, or tablet computer, or something like that. I'll leave that up to dh. He'll probably want some XBox games, a few movies. We might get him a new NE Patriots jersey since he's outgrown the one he has. DD, 17, mentioned Apple TV. I don't even know that that is. She also wants some clothes, gift cards, etc. DH wants the Microsoft watch.

What about a Mason jar full of nail polish with a gift card for a pedicure ?
My 16yo has become a clothes horse, so she's getting clothes and gift cards. Maybe a flat iron.
My 13yo is a Walking Dead fan, so I bought her 5 t-shirts and seasons 1-4. I found a t-shirt that says "keep calm and eat pudding. " I can't wait! Carl is her favorite character. She's my crafty girl, so I'may going to get her Hobby Lobby and Michael's gift cards.
All 3 of my daughters have Disney Vans on their wish lists.

I have three girls and they are so hard to buy for! The are so lazy about making their Christmas lists for the grandparents. I wish the grandparents would just buy then what the grandparents want or just give them gift cards when the kids aren't giving them any ideas. But the grandparents will drive out on Dec. 23rd to get the list if the kids wait until then to get it for them.
My kids and their friends go to Sheetz, Starbucks, Panera, fast food places with their friends. A bunch of gift cards is great for them. And portable chargers are a great idea! We just have the $7.99 ones from Best Buy, but maybe there are better ones?
I like the make up brush idea! There are some my kids think feel so good at Ulta, but they are expensive, so we haven't bought any. But that would be a good gift idea!
Once we got the kids nice basecoat and top coat for their own so they don't have to share. The youngest loves doing her nails, her sisters like too also, but not as much as when they were in middle school.

If you buy 5 you get one free. Get everyone a tablet this year! www.amazon.com/Fire-Display-Wi-Fi-GB-Special/dp/B00TSUGXKE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1447074724&sr=8-1&keywords=kindle+fireScroll down a bit for the code for the 6 pack and there is also a deal for the cases - buy 4 get 2 free. And they are super easy to ship! You can put the $50 you save on the free one toward the cases. Win-win!

Sorry I'm no help - teenagers love cash and gift cards though. This is what I am thinking. My kids (17/19) would pretty much think you were the bestest auntie in the entire universe it if you stuck a $50 bill in an envelope-no fancy wrapping required.

Our almost 16 year old grandson wants guitar/amp accessories so he'll be getting a gift card to Guitar Center. He'll also get some flannel shirts, a small TV for his room and his filled stocking. He's also asked his other grandparents for a gift card to Vineyard Vines, so he can go shopping after Christmas. For some reason he loves that store and their ridiculously overpriced clothes .
