I always end up with a load of stocking fillers for my daughter and very few for my sons! My big score for her this year was a beauty blender at a third the normal price ,a zoelva brush, a discontinued body shop facial cleanser she loves, a silicone 'egg' for cleaning her makeup brushes, some elemis papaya enzyme peel and Clinique mascara ( from a magazine) some stretchy brush guards for her makeup brushes after cleansing , her favourite candle and Dr Bonners soap . I bought her some super - soft lounging socks and trainer socks also. I found my oldest boy some of his favourite discontinued Lynx hair gel : but the youngest only has various chocolate so far

I'll be watching this thread! My DD who is almost 15 likes funky socks, so I always get some of those and a small iTunes gift card. Gum packs. Nail polish. But, I have a son (they are twins) and he is difficult. Cute socks is not his thing! Ha! I used to find cute stuff at the container store but I didn't see much this year! Funny socks are a big hit with the boys and girls in our area. My 16 yr. old just got socks from Target with kale on them and longer socks with a cowboy Christmas thing. She got a pair for her friend (boy) so they can "twin" to school with matching socks. They get some crazy ones at Target. They are between $1.50 and $4 depending on if they are short or high socks. My 21 year old son goes for a crazy sock too. They are the only kind I wear. Today they are lucky shamrocks.

Their own nail clippers As a teacher, I would recommend a pack of nice pens. It is getting to that point in the year where students are running low on pens/pencils. Yes, a set of markers, red pen, or a new binder if theirs is torn up.

Last year I found something really fun for my 3 year old grandsons stocking. I was browsing the perfume isle in Walmart and noticed on a shelf in a box were "Dinosaur Eggs". These are bath bombs. When the fizzing is done there is a little plastic dinosaur left over. His Mom said he thought they were funny. I think each one was about $1.47. Here is video showing how to make these yourself. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lbuh-QEv0gM

ODS is 15. We are carrying on a tradition my grandpa started for my dad and his two brothers. My dad did the same for my brothers and me. DS gets one nice hand tool in his stocking each year. By the time he lives in his own apartment, he should have a pretty decent assortment of good quality basic tools.

Any ideas for a 4 year old DD who has EVERYTHING? My Little Pony mini doll blind bags (although they aren't truly "blind" there is a small clear spot at the top back of the pack where you can see inside to see which one it is). Glitter Glider or MagiClip Princess dolls. Small Tsum Tsums (my 5yo would LOVE to get every one of these!). Small Lego sets. Small stuffed animal or doll. Step Reader books in the lower levels, at 4 my DD was starting to learn to read with these and there are hundreds of them. Fun socks, nail polish, hair pretties, slippers, stickers, crayons/markers, small puzzles, candy.

I heard about a company on Clark Howard called Hollar dot com. Looks like they have a lot of stocking stuffers and everything is $2-5 and free shipping over $25. I've never ordered from them so I can't vouch for them.

I have teen and older girls. I ordered some fandom sampler tea tins from Adagio from some of their favorite podcasts/TV shows. Other items are socks, mini flash lights, a silver panda coin from China is a tradition, gum, rice candy, pens, post its, EOS lip balm, flavored honey sticks, hot chocolate, and candy, earrings. They still like Lego mini figs too.

sorry, I went offline shortly afterward. These were close to the registers with all the little things they put together for holiday shopping, iykwim. At my W, they were in the men's clothing area, right across from the registers, so parallel, I guess. They had other stuff that would appeal to men, but I am drawing a blank right now. I think it was one of those heavy cardboard display things they use.

DD and I are both getting Harry Potter coloring books in our stockings, along with pencils or markets. Decorative pill case (for DD to use at sleepovers) Makeup Tea infuser (I actually ordered new ones to go with our Advent calendars. We missed David's so we ordered Teanzo's) Socks (my favorite) Any ideas for a 4 year old DD who has EVERYTHING? My Little Pony mini doll blind bags (although they aren't truly "blind" there is a small clear spot at the top back of the pack where you can see inside to see which one it is). There is also a list floating around the Internet that you can match up with a number on the back of the box. I cannot tell you how many times DD and I looked at those little numbers finding the right pony when she was in that phase.

If you type "stocking stuffer" into Etsy's search box, you'll spend hours finding unusual stuff. Not that I did that last weekend...
ETA: Art Altered on Etsy has interesting magnets for all types of people.
Great thread - thanks for starting it early!

My kids are 21, 19 and 17 (holy crap by the way! They were babies when I started coming to twopeas around 5,3,1-ish).. anyway clearly they don't ask for toys anymore for Christmas so their stocking is chock full of silly fun stuff. Silly Putty some sort of gun, I like the ones that shoot disks or whirly birds card games(UNO, Skip Bo etc) matchbox cars polly pockets(these two things are surprisingly a huge hit) coloring book and crayons those nasty grow when you put them in water animals balloonies(another huge hit) a small stuffie A DVD of a childhood favorite movie
I also include: i tunes cards personal hygiene stuff mini first aid kits(especially for the 21 year old, he is a chef and is constantly burned or cut) lip gloss/balm gum candy socks undies(fun boxers for the boys)
Mostly I just love that they play with the stuff from their stockings on Christmas morning, after all the gifts are open they sit and play with all the fun stuff.

This thread is so valuable. Thank you for starting it. A bit off track, but I put lottery tickets into the holiday cookie baskets that I hand out to my neighbors. It's just for fun.

My four boys are all teens or young men. The standard items for their stockings in the last few years have been: - a bag of those chocolate "coins" (they have *always* had these) - a toothbrush (it's my mom-joke; anytime I give them candy, I give a toothbrush) - new earbuds - a lottery ticket - gift card to each's favorite fast-food place - nail clippers or a nice new razor - mini-flashlight - pocketknife or five-in-one type tool - a nice bottle of cologe - a toy of some sort - chapstick - cash

I get my kids a jumbo pack of Scotch tape. That way they don't have to borrow from me all year! And post-it notes. Some plain, some shapes. They really love those, too. OMG that's genius. My DS has a huge issue with using Scotch tape and I am always hiding it from him. Getting his own would be so funny and practical too, but something he would love at the same time.
