I would check in a few times a day to see how some Peas were doing. I did get in to giving advise, but my brain tells me that people really do what they are going to do!
I was in a bit of a quandary when it shut down without notice. I still want to know why!!

I became hooked on a chance to learn so much from so many different people. I have become more quiet over the years as I saw some of the nasty attitudes on the board, but I lurked many times.

No why I would need to know that? I don't drive. But this was news to my driving friend. Common sense? Because you walk through parking lots? Because it's not that surprising that people reversing a several ton machine with limited visibility in a confined space where people are walking might have some risks? It's just fascinating that, in your mind, you picked out "parking lots can be dangerous" as something you learned on Two Peas. Your thought process is fascinating. Odds are that if you don't drive you aren't walking through a lot of parking lots and haven't experienced what drivers experienced and now see as common sense. I'm sure there are a lot of things that are just common sense to those that have experience with it, but have never been thought about by those that don't. You can't apply the experience to gain the common sense knowledge if you don't have the experience.

For me it was my daily outlet to conversations with women.
I have learned so much on 2peas.
I have laughed I have cried I have been happy I have been mad I have seen things from a different prospective
It was a great community and I am so happy to be here. Losing 2peas was like losing many friends all at once.

why are you all so quick to jump on annabella? she simply gave an example of something she hadn't known before...that she was able to pass along to someone
granted she lives a different life than many here..but that doesn't mean ya'll should use her as a target for your mean spiritedness
is it possible there are things that she knows that YOU don't?

If you are in your 30's, grew up in the USA, and can't reason out for yourself that parking lots are dangerous, you are lacking in common sense. I don't care if you don't drive, that is really freaking obvious.

It's a way to be social if you're an introvert. That's why I enjoy it. No tension to keep a verbal conversation moving along. Just reply when you wish. Exactly!

Maybe it's sad but I consider many of you my friends. When I found out it closed I felt like there was a death in my family.
I say it's sad because I know most of you don't "know" me. I'm quiet.
Maybe that will change.

It was a great place to expand my thinking and awareness. The diversity and the willingness of everyone to share ideas and keep each other current and grounded. It is like having a group of friends available 24/7 and not having to figure out a way to schedule them in to your calendar. I was a lurker mostly, too and was actually shocked when I went to check out the boards as I usually do, about the emotional response I experienced. Glad I was able to find the new and improved NSBR! My thinking exactly!

It's a great way for me to unwind in the evening, find out what books people are reading, what great Pinterest project they tried. Amazing vacation places they might advise. It's really my brain candy. I don't have to think to hard to be here and be entertained. It's become a way of life for me.

I had been a lea for 11 years, mostly lurk now, but NSBR was a place for entertainment, a place to seek opinions, a place where you can just interact with those people of all walks of life. I am happy that this new board was started!

I have been mostly a lurker the time I´ve been on twopeas, but when I saw the announcement it truly broke my heart. First for all the really close peas that have really enduring friendships there and were caught off guard and probably even more shocked than I was, and then because I can´t imagine the internet witouth the "nsbr"
The reason that I have been a lurker is that I don´t have thick skin, when there is a huge discussion I know I would not handle it well and would probably exit crying lol, so I try to avoid it and leave it to stronger people, but the truth is the nsbr is where I learned a lot of things: Mirkins, shopping carts and where they go, the diva cup, food recipes, bells palsy, etc. It was a given that if you had a question and asked on the nsbr, someone could help you.
So I am so happy that you are back and I promise to develop a thicker skin to participate more on discussions here, I truly gave the nsbr for granted and it´s true what they say that you don´t know what you have until you loose it.
I´m glad I have it back and I don´t ever want it to go away!
Thanks ladies!!!

This explains a lot of my attraction to the place as well. I also like the advice from this place and the different points of view. There are some crabby types but in my view, the good far outweighs the bad, probably because I just don't continue with threads when they turn nasty.
I also have to say, the advice and support I got here when things were blowing up in my corner of the world was incredible. I was just blown away by how kind everyone was when I didn't know what to do or who to trust. So when people say "it's just a message board", I have to disagree - there are real people behind these posts and I deeply appreciate that so many care enough to reach out to someone they don't really know.

I like coming here to read about different things...I hear about new products before they sometimes come out..like the Share a Coke thing. If I had a question about something, someone had tried it. or if I was researching a topic, someone knew something about it. I learned a lot about the different political views...mine haven't changed but I somewhat understand the other side.

When I saw that two peas closed I was so upset. I kept saying to my sister What am I going to do now! Where will I learn new things. I live in a fairly small town and most people here are exactly the same. I learned so many things I never would have even thought about without two peas. I was so happy when I got a peamail telling me about this board. I don't post a lot but I really enjoy the NSBR board.

For me, I loved the NSBR board. Oddly, whenever there was an issue in my own life or something I was thinking about - I would get on 2peas and there would be a thread about it. I have read some truly inspiring posts, and love the fact that people from all over can connect based on a hobby they love. So happy I found the post on Instagram for this forum. There is always someone posting EXACTLY what I am thinking about or experiencing. It is so cool and a bit freaky all at once!

I use it as a form of entertainment, a source of information, and a way to pass the time if I am in a situation where I have yo wait. ↑↑↑ exactly!! I love to kill time with the peas, even tho I mostly lurked.
