I'm not sure if this vent fits here, but it's scrappy, so.....
I just wish someone would think to take photos of me doing what I do so that I could scrapbook my life without every photo being a selfie.
Birthday - Use the self timer
Pics with kids - either self timer, or hold the cam out with arm and try to catch us all in the frame.
I don't even have pics of me scrapping, because I feel silly taking them.
Work - I have self timer pics of me in uniform before leaving for work, but that's it.
I make a point to take pics of everyone. Birthdays, Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving. I m ake sure that if someone looks especially good that day (like when they wear a brand new outfit & are just radiating confidence), I snap a pic for them. I always try to capture my family when they are looking and feeling their best.
I just wish for once someone would say, "Hey it's your birthday. Lemme take a pic of you for ya to scrap." It would mean the world to me.

We are flying a lot and the tickets you get nowadays are fading so quickly, so after a trip I usually copy them, to use on my layouts/in my albums later on. Is that crazy??? Nope, not crazy at all!

I bring back so much paper ephemera from trips sometimes I feel like they need their own suitcase. LOL! I totally understand!

I understand- DH and I bought a travel book online for our work trip to Hawaii, and on the last full day a helpful person marked a road on the map in the back of the book in purple pen. It's not very noticeable, but it still lowered the resell value of the book (I was planning to resell the book online after our trip).

I had my (now X) DH trained to take more than one, and not to fold the extra - even my DSs have learned. I have multiple programs from shows/graduations so I can keep at least one intact and one to cut up. I used to travel with a 12x12 folder to keep that stuff in. Fit very nicely in the outside zip pocket of the suitcase. We are not crazy, or OCD, this is just the way these things should be done!!!

I bring back so much paper ephemera from trips sometimes I feel like they need their own suitcase. LOL! I totally understand! I did that for our 11 day Alaska trip! I packed a nylon duffel and filled it with all my paper stuff. I was afraid our checked bags would be too heavy on the way home.
I had a bruise on my shoulder from carrying it through the airports, LOL. I had a couple books I purchased in there, too.

I bring back so much paper ephemera from trips sometimes I feel like they need their own suitcase. LOL! I totally understand! I always take a plastic folder (inexpensive from Staples with velcro closure) with me, and when we are coming back it's usually so full that I can hardly close it. If I find big maps I put them underneath all the clothes in the suitcase, so they don't get crinkled - works fine.

One thing just came to my mind which really bothers me.. sometimes we book tours and those tour guides usually don't give out tickets (either because they only have a group ticket and have to show it to their boss or they just don't care to hand them out-don't they know that's why I booked the tour!!). I always ask for them and if they don't give one I'm known to buy another entrance ticket, just to have one... I always get this eyerolling look from my hubby...

Oh, I would have had to buy another map. DH knows to always take two maps or two brochures. One to use and one to scrapbook. And he knows not to fold the scrapbook one! My SO is also well trained - he usually picks up half a dozen extra maps just in case any of them get damaged. My vent: Too many electronic printout tickets for things like museums and such. I want a pretty ticket stub to use in my scrapbook. Also, map and program quality has gone down hill. I'm tired of being handed scrap-worthy items that are printed on copy paper. I love the look of glossy pamphlets. You would love the ones from Hampton Court Palace - the tickets are beautiful to look at with images of past kings and famous buildings, and the maps are more like mini guide books. My favourite though is the scratch and sniff map. A lot of the tickets to historic sites on our trip to Germany and Austria were beautiful (and rather large).

When we travel I always take about 6 large Zip locks. When we get a pamphlet I always take an extra (when possible) and put it in the ziplock right away. I have also been known to take a skinny Iris 12 x 12 container in case I find paper or larger embellishments. I'm a tiny bit OCD with this stuff. I always have a large Ziplock with me when we travel too. I also keep post-it notes to jot down journaling or date & places to attach to whatever memorabilia I'm collecting.

I always bring a very small notebook with me on trips to write down what we did and went and where we ate on trips. It makes the journaling on my pages so much easier and interesting. They have these little spiral bound index card notebooks at Walmart which are so perfect. When my photos are printed then I rip out the correct index card with info for each "layout group" of photos and put with those photos. Then when I'm ready to scrap they are together. I also put the right memorabilia next to that group of photos. Anything unspecific goes in a ziploc with the whole trip set.
So - it is really important to me to put the date on the layouts and what order we did things. Where the photo of the food was from - all of that ! It bugs me if I forgot the details of it all when scrapping.
Oh and like everyone else - love maps. And brochures Great to use on layouts and also great to get spelling right of places and more details to add to my journaling.

I bring a small notebook, too. I make notes each evening. It's fun to go back and read old entries.
I take a lot of photos of signs along the way. I don't always print them, but it gives me a record of the order we did things or which glacier that was, etc.
