I watched Married at First Sight Last Night and one of the experts said that 52% of people do not have sex on their wedding night. I wasn't sure what to think about this statistic. So I thought I'd throw it out there as a poll and see what the peas says. I did not vote. I've been married twice. The first time, we did not have sex. The second time, we did.

I've heard that too. I think it's usually attributed to being exhausted after a long wedding day. DH and I had a great wedding night!

With most couples living together for years before getting married that doesn't surprise me.

I thought sex on your wedding night was some sort of rule. I kid! I kid!

DH and I agreed ahead of time that we would not have sex the night of our wedding. We just didn't want the pressure after a the long day we were going to have. But the next morning was fabulous!

We did. It was our first (and second) time ever, while Seinfeld was on in the background! LOL

I answered no because we didn't that night. But we did as soon as we woke up in the morning.

We didn't because I got sick to my stomach from the little champagne we drank.

We did, but let me tell you I was so exhausted that I almost wish I could have just gone to sleep! I think with more couples being "active" prior to marriage that having a wedding night rendezvous is lower on their list or priorities because they have already done it (for lack of better terms)

I'm pretty sure we did, but as far I can remember it wasn't anything spectacular (we lived together a long time beforehand). I do know the very first thing I said when we walked into the hotel room was for him to get the dress off me because I had to pee

I'm surprised the statistic is that high. I'll have to tell my dh he lucked out then & that makes up for all the times I've had a headache.

That sounds high to me. Of all my friends that were close enough to share, only one did the deed on the wedding night. (And we had heard about her freaking virginity for years at that point and were more ready than her husband for her to be deflowered. Damn girl, you're 32, shut up already.). Everyone one else was exhausted and just wanted to crash.

We didn't. We got to our hotel around 2:30 am, and had to be up to leave for the airport at 5:00 am. Then a long flight and when we finally got to our honeymoon room, our first priority was sleep.

We did, and it was the best we ever had! I was super excited, because I thought it was indicative of of my future with my new hubby. I was mistaken.

We did but it was about 3am, we were exhausted, and we had to catch an early flight so it was more a "let's just do it quickly so we can say we did it" kind of thing. We had much better nights (and mornings and afternoons) on our honeymoon.

We didn't. I was six months pregnant and was totally exhausted! We probably did the next morning but I don't remember. We had lived together for three years and weren't going to get married but my DH freaked at five months pregnant and thought we should get married before the baby was born so we did

We did, just because DH had heard that statistic and refused to be part of it.

We didn't - we were knackered We'd lived together for a few years so it wasn't a big deal in that sense.

Did...but only because we thought it would be bad luck not to...I mean, that's what you're SUPPOSED to do, right? Like most couples on their wedding day, we were absolutely exhausted.

First husband, we didn't because there was an after-party in our condo and we were up all night. Second husband . . .

We did but we were exhausted and we wanted to squeeze in a little sleep before leaving for our honeymoon at 5:00 am. A couple that were our friends at the time came over after the reception (maybe to help bring in presents, I can't remember now) and they wouldn't leave. It was very late and we were so annoyed with them. Because of other reasons, we aren't friends with them anymore...no loss there.
I can see why people wouldn't put that at a high priority. Exhaustion for a long day. Also I read somewhere that people are too drunk at that point and passed out. And of course most people I know are already living together, long since been virgins and well, the deed has already been done.

We didn't the first night we were to tired.
We left for our honeymoon the next day and on our first honeymoon night in the hotel in the hotel room I remembered this girl I worked with that kept insisting on us watching a movie 2 girls 1 cup. I figured it was a porn type thing and for us porn isn't a big deal so I searched it on laptop..... SWEET FANCY MOSES!!!!!!!!!! Don't ever watch it! Like ever! We sat staring for maybe 20 secs trying to figure out if we were really seeing what was showing on the screen!!!! So no sex on night 2 either LOL!

We got to the hotel and my feet were killing me so we went to the pool and swam a bit then soaked in the hot tub. Then we went back to the room and crashed. Morning was a much better time. We also lived together, so it might have played out differently had we not had "relations" previously.

What? My first reaction to this was "that's crazy!" Then I realized that we caught a late night flight from the west coast to the east that took most of the night, then rented a car and drove to our getaway, and didn't actually have sex until that afternoon. But we made up for the time that had elapsed

We didn't. We were up at the reception until almost 2 AM and had to be up for breakfast with our families at 9 AM. We had also lived together for more than 2 years before getting married; if we hadn't, I imagine we probably would have cut out of the reception earlier and made wedding night sex a priority.
