I know some people split their kits up right away, but if you don't, when do you consider it "done"? When do you split it up into your stash and move on to the next kit?
I'm trying to use up the kits I bought last year. I would buy the basic kit, then add on individual papers and embellishments shown in the add-ons if I liked them. For this first kit, I think I had 17 sheets of patterned paper. I have 5 full sheets of paper left. The others pieces range from half sheets down to tiny scraps. I have a lot of embellishments left, probably because I don't embellish heavily. I believe I did 5 one page layouts.
Should I try to do a couple more pages, or would you call it good and move on?

I call it done once I'm sick of it But yeah, after I make 4-5 layouts, there's usually not full sheets of anything left (other than maybe some card stock) and I'm ready to move on to something else. That's when I incorporate the bigger scraps into my scraps stash and divvy up the leftover embellishments in my color bins. If I had any full sheets left like you're saying, I think I'd just file them away with my single sheets of paper.

That's kind of what I'm thinking. I have a few biggish scraps of papers that I love, but the rest I'm kind of "eh" about. I can't seem to get inspired. I also sort embellishments by color, so I think I'll go ahead and do that as well. Let's see, one response and I'm ready to ditch the kit. Yeah, I think I'm done with it.

I don't heavily embellish my layouts either, so I consider my kit killed when I've used up a majority of the pattern paper. This usually ends up being 5-6 layouts or more if I really have time and can stretch it.

Because I use lots of paper (excluding cardstock) on my pages, I'm done when I get four projects completed. By then most of the PP left are in 6x12 or smaller pieces. So most of the time my leftovers are the embellies and alphas (which are almost never used).

If I used enough of it that I'm tired of it I call it done and move on. Lately I have been trying to use my leftover scraps right away on another page. Doing that helps to use everything up a little faster. I don't buy multiples of the same paper either and that helps.

Thanks, everyone! I probably don't get as many pages because I uses sketches and larger pieces on layouts. I'm going to move on to the next month's kit.

I also do it when I get sick of the kit. Usually that's when the new one comes. I use a lot of paper for layouts so I can't really go by what some people get out of a kit.

I definitely think it varies by person but for me, it is mainly when I use up most of the paper b/c I usually also pull embellishments from my stash.

I have SO many kits piled up. In the beginning I bought extra patterned paper and some add on kits. Those are the kits that are left. I never use up all the embellies. Those and the alphas get incorporated into my stash. Lately I've been making cards with leftover paper to help use up the kit.

I cannot "kill" a kit to save my life! I have been trying to with the SC Penny Arcade kit, but it just won't go away! Part of my problem is that I get all three subs and sometimes the add ons because I want the stamp. It is just too much to use up in a month's time!

After 5 or 6 pages I'm usually tired of a kit. If there is enough pattern paper and embellishments for say one more layout or a couple of cards then I'll keep the kit together for later if not it's split up and into my stash.

I think you've clearly answered your own question. For me, if I was bored with what was left, then I'd split it up. If I was still inspired by what was left but didn't have anything I immediately wanted to scrap with it I might leave it together but put it aside. I don't see the point in forcing myself to use a group of supplies that don't inspire me just because they came together in a kit.
