Since my post count on the old board was 0, I feel quite chatty, even at my relatively low post count! And I am also pretty quiet IRL too.

I always wonder what the highest posters do irl. Work? pea at work, stay at home? How is it physically possible to be in front of the computer for the length of time to post that much? I am with you there. I am nowhere near being in the high posters club, I officially hate being tied to the computer but I spend hours on the time sucker. I work in our own business, have to respond pretty quickly to clients who have me on retainer, so when I check mails and other official stuff I take a quick look here or at scrapping blogs and, quick as a wink, hours have passed . I'm not working right now, and the lap top is on the bar...which is essentially smack dab in the middle of my world. I don't sit in front of the computer all day, but I may sit to drink a cup of coffee. I also may take a peek while eating my lunch, taking a break, while waiting for something to cook...the computer is conveniently placed for random check-ins throughout the day. And for the record, I am fairly introverted, so this form of communication works well for me. Additionally, I am a bit lonely and this fulfills a bit of a need for interaction for me.

I'm still trying to get to 50, too. Got lazy and let myself stay logged out for a while.

You make a good point here- I work from our home office. I can go days without seeing anyone other than my husband (not counting domestic staff, see my location and know that this is very normal here- old colonial tradition and job creation now, not "smart" at all) and be quite happy as long as I can chat a bit online.

Yea, I lurked at the other board, too. So I am trying to get more involved in everything I do, not just here, but in my everyday life too!

I will admit, it is MUCH easier to jump in on topics on this new board. There is just a friendlier vibe to it...almost like no one rules over here, so we can all just be free to speak. KWIM? Even if the queen bees are still here, they haven't been restored to power. I like that! lol

Lol... I thought this going to be about the doll too! I am trying to get on board and post more on the new board. I've got a long way to go to 500 though!

You don't have to be tied to a computer to post here. I have internet access on my phone so if I'm waiting for an appointment I can easily post on a few threads. I also like to post while I watch tv at night.
I work part time from home, I don't have a lot of human interaction on a day-to-day basis so coming on here for some sort of communication with someone besides the FedEx guy and my dog is nice.

I was at 2Peas for 11 years and only had like 2700 posts. I like it over here better.

I like it here. I'm chatty IRL but finding it hard to post a lot. Most of the time, someone else has already said what I would say so I just "like" the post and move on to another thread.

I work part time. How is it physically possible? - it really doesn't take that much time. You can post answers in a few seconds especially if it's a thread you've already read and are just catching up on, often maybe there're only 'thumbs up' emoticons etc. My kids are adults, my DH works very long hours...it's not that big a deal. Maybe Kristalina types incredibly slow and that's why she sees the difficulty in it being "physically possible".

I go through phases. I've posted quite a bit this summer. My daughter has spent a total of four days in the hospital due to two complex knee surgeries and we've been almost homebound while she is recovering, so I've had a lot of time to post.
I don't pay much attention to how much anyone else is posting, and I certainly don't value anyone else's opinion more just because they post often.

Maybe. Also of course, you don't have to be in front of a computer to post Absolutely - phones and tablets make it so easy to post now from any place, especially when one has time to fill waiting for something. Being able to read the message board definitely beats reading notices on walls or looking round idly observing people or twiddling thumbs.......and there's quite often something one wants to comment on then!! And it's a great place to read when having a few quiet minutes with a cup of coffee at home! I'm not a chatterbox but I do spend quite a bit of time alone and my kids are adults.

I post much more often here than at 2Peas. For one, I find it easier to post with the quick reply box at the bottom of the page. I also find it much friendlier here. I am also trying to respond to posts that ask for prayers and good thoughts. I didn't do that much before as I didn't feel that anyone knew who I was anyway. I think the whole Beth story woke me up to how the women who post here are real and what we say does matter even though we only know each other in a virtual world.

I always wonder what the highest posters do irl. Work? pea at work, stay at home? How is it physically possible to be in front of the computer for the length of time to post that much? You have 244 posts. Some people like to post a lot, some read more than post. It doesn't mean somebody with 500 posts spends more time here than somebody, like me, with under 100. This post took me 42 seconds. ETA: ha - and that post made me a throbber

I don't sit here all day.
I do go to work (a job where I have no computer access).
But this is where my friends are.
I can talk scrap. I can talk other stuff.
A place to unwind.
And that first week I really made it a point to post often because I wanted to do my part to get this new site off the ground running, so that it would be a lively, moving board.

Some of the peeps on the old board scared the hell out of me, and I am no shrinking violet IRL. This pod has such a different feel to it, hard to describe to outsiders like my OH. He can`t believe I am actually posting instead of lurking. To Lavenderlayoutlady, I`ve never faked a sarcasm either, love that banner.

I have a tablet that I use and I've become quite proficient at typing very quickly on it. Right now I'm in the process of relocating back Stateside. So my days are spent traveling, emailing family and friends, streaming TV shows and checking out what's being discussed over here. I'm already packed up, just counting down the days and enjoying the rest of my time here.

Well, I've posted so much more on this new, friendlier board. Probably had 20 posts on the old 2 Peas, though I lurked for over 10 years.. But it is much easier to do the quick reply via my tablet, so I make an effort to post on the PT&P posts, and like a previous poster said, I wanted to help get this place going. Also, I'm off for the summer, but my daytime post count will drop when school starts.
Thanks everyone for posting such interesting stuff, and for making ex-lurkers like myself feel welcome by making an effort to respond to, quote and like posts.

I'm definitely no chatty Cathy. I definitely wasn't on the old board but I'm trying to stay more active here to make sure this place survives.
