I do - lots of vagueness - but the posts always seem to "fish" for a follow up comment so that they can complain even more - or go into details. I have no desire to hear anymore of the drama so I just ignore.
I think that there are just folks out in the world where Facebook has opened up a whole new audience to them with their passive posts.

I did. A quick delete fixed all that. 2 for plexus, 3 for vaguebooking and posting so people will be all sympathetic to them, and 1 for some jewlery sale thing I've never heard of. Oh and 1 who always posts polical crap.

Oooh, I have another irritating FBer I forgot - vague booking by proxy. This is awesome. We have a parent at our school who is FB friends with one or two of the teachers on staff and some of the PTO parents who might as well be teachers, they're at school so much. She frequently posts things like, "I don't know why people go into education when they clearly don't like children," or "Does anyone know who to contact at the district office with a teacher complaint? Getting no help from school admin." She knows that these things are immediately spread around school and that we're all wondering which of the teachers she's mad at today. She currently has five kids at our school so it could be any one of a dozen when you include homeroom/switch teachers and specialists. You really haven't "arrived" at our school until she's been in the office complaining about you. She's ridiculous and the reason she "doesn't get any help from admin" is because they know she's ridiculous - but she totally posts this stuff knowing it will be repeated around school so that even those who are not on FB with her can have the benefit of her passive-aggressive jabs.

I can't follow my sister! Her posts make me insane and I'm thrilled that a friend taught me how to do this!

I have a few vaguebookers and lacktivists, both make me roll my eyes out of its sockets. The lastest one was a huge paragraph about how us as mexicans are worrying about the war in Gaza but don´t do anything to stop the problems in the north of the country and stop the goverment bla, bla, bla. Yeah last thing I know she is not going to go there and fight with them or stop government herself. Had to hide her for a while.

I don't have any prolific vaguebook posters anymore but I used to have one that was really bad. She was younger and I guess she has moved on to Instagram or some other site. She still has a FB account but rarely posts anymore. I do still have one person who occasionally vaguebooks and I ignore the posts.
I have 3 (I think) FB friends that share an account with their spouse. Two of them has both names in their FB name. One of these, the husband never posts. But, she added her DH's name because sometimes she posts "DH said to tell everyone XYZ". In the other case of both names in their FB name, they always put their initials after their post so you know who posted. In the 3rd case, only her name is on the account but her DH will occasionally post. He always puts his name at the end of the post so you know it was him and not his wife. Sooooooo, the sharing with all of these hasn't bothered me at all. I always know who I am responding to. Even in the responses, they will add their name or initials to their post.

Yup ... several. I've un-followed all of them so if I care to check up on them, I just click on their feed.
I also have "my life sucks, but I'm not ever going to do anything about it, pity party" friend; my sister with the never ending selfie obsession and bible study coupled with inspiration, and the newly divorced "OMG, there's so much drama in my life, I have no idea why" friend ... uh yeah.
Some crafty friends complete with asking for money on FB ... so many clicks on "I don't want to see that" on my feed! LOL

I unfriended someone that was the biggest offender of doing this. We were just casual acquaintances and I don't feel bad about it. I have no tolerance for passive-aggressive, vague posts.

vaguebooking is my number one fb pet peeve. I have a few that seriously make me want to smack them upside the head. One gal I know does it nearly every day. I can't unfriend her, so I have her hidden. This is my second biggest fb pet peeve:

I completely ignore vaguebook posts. Either let people know what is going on or keep it to yourself.

Oh goodness, between that and her passive aggressive reposts of inspirational meme's, yes I have one. She is so touchy I am afraid to hide her for fear of missing something and her flying of the handle again! I have a bunch of people that are reposters and I roll my eyes at those. Be original folks, have your own thoughts!

And when people ask what's wrong they reply "ill PM you" like the rest of their friends aren't special enough to find out! Yes! Hate it, especially the pm thing!

I hate those please validate me posts as well and what I hate even more are links to political news articles bashing some political figure or a link to some depressing sad horrible news story. I see enough on the news, I don't need you to be telling me about it on FB. I HATE negative posts, rants about how long you sat in dr office, how the lady in front of you in the store line is a bitch, you hate your neighbors cause they light firecrackers. I could go on. Yeah we all have complaints, again I don't want to read about it on FB. If ya can't post something happy don't post at all. I can understand asking for prayers and support, but when it's a every day poor poor pitiful me post, ugh! Don't get me wrong, coming here, on this board and complaining is totally ok, that's what we are all here for, to listen and help and support when your damn neighbor sets a firecracker in your drive at 3 am! Then I have another friend that has no filter in the pix she posts. She has a in ground pool and apparently a lot of baby squirrels get sucked up in the pump. No, I do not want to see multiple pictures of tiny little dead squirrels floating in your pool and oh, when you cut your toe on a piece of glass? I DO NOT want to see 87 close up pictures of your bloody toe and your bloody deck and your bloody footprints.

That's the only kind I can tolerate. I have some friends that do that sometimes and explain they don't want to share right now or it's not their news to share but would like prayer. That's not the same attention-grabby feel at all. And I usually post that I am praying. I support people genuinely reaching out and you can tell the difference. Just hope that later you don't find out you were praying for them to get their body 'beach ready'! Snort!

I have her just for laughs. My best friend and I crack up over the stupid stuff she posts. Oh and she takes selfies, lots and lots of selfies. I kid you not, she changes her profile pix every other day, same angle same selfie pose. I counted in her photo page once under profile pix, there were well over 50 pics of her, all of the same type of pose. All selfies. Oh and she's 52, not some teenager!

Fb poster said: "if anyone wants $20 in free groceries plus let me know" then when people kept asking what's the catch...and asking for more info...she finally explained.... "I'm willing to take whoever that gives me $50 cash and buy them $70 worth of food with my food stamps..that's $20 extra of free food guys! But I need it by tomorrow because I'm going out to (insert bar/club name here) and need drinking money" Priceless I tell ya! Lol

I was guilty of vaguebooking one time and it had to do with DS testing positive for Celiac, but it wasn't intentional. Most of the people on my FB are my family and they knew what was going on. I didn't really hide it when a couple people asked me, but it's the one and only time I could think of that I wasn't straight forward in a post. I hate vaguebooking, and I hate poor, pitiful me posts. I have someone I've hidden for that reason. Every day, 20 times a day, her work sucks, her life sucks, they're broke, oh wait, she had Panera for lunch and bought cigarettes, oh wait, they're broke again. Fun! (NOT)

This post cracks me up. I have a few notorious vague bookers and people who post memes, inspirational quotes and stories all day. Dh's foster sister is terrible for this. She posts crap all day....."don't judge, you don't know what I've been through", "sometimes the strongest people.....", "a true relationship is..." Or "repost if you love your son". I love my sons but I don't need to repost anything on FB to prove it.
Her latest gem was an update a few days ago "up all night again". Someone asked why and she said that she was "fighting her demons". No one responded after that. Dh raised his eyebrow and said WTF is she talking about? Just leave it, don't bite.
