Fifty Shades TrailerI saw this on the Today show and now I cannot wait to see the movie. I told my dh that I don't think I could watch it with anyone but him. Not sure I could sit in a movie theater watching it with a bunch of strangers but now I don't think I can wait for it to come out on DVD.

Hmmm, It does look good BUT that guy just doesn't look like Christian did in my mind. I think that movie would be uncomfortable to sit in a crowded theater!

Interesting . . . I think she is a great Ana, not so sure about him as Christian. I will keep an open mind, though. I am looking forward to it.
Even though my husband gave me the book (he didn't know what it was about - he had seen tons of women reading it in the airports, so . . . Happy Mother's Day!), I'm not sure I could watch it with him. For me, it's a toss up between darkened theater w/a friend or home alone w/the DVD. Hmmmm . . .

I think I might be the only woman on planet earth who hated that book. I just couldn't get past the ridiculous writing and the shallow characters. I found myself irritated by how stupid (for lack of a better word) I felt while reading it. I stopped reading it about four chapters in. I do not understand the draw at all, and I now feel like a freak among my own sex for not liking it. lol

I agree...I like the actress they got to play Anastasia but he just isn't Christian. Charlie Hunnam, Ian Somerhalder, or Alexander Skarsgard (yes, I know he is too old for the part but !!) I could see as Christian-just not this guy. Maybe it will work but I'll stick to re-reading the books with one of those guys as the lead in my mind.

I kept reading the reviews, and while the smut factor doesn't bother me one single bit-those that kept saying the writing was poor made me stay away. So I probably will skip the movie too.

Never read the books, but after seeing the trailer, I might watch it free on cable if nothing else but for Jamie Dornan. I do prefer him with a beard. That elevator scene was HAWT.

That scene in front of the bar where he pushes the other man away from her looked so much like Twilight I had to do a double take.
I'm sure that was intentional.

There is a tampon thing in the book? ? I´m really hoping the tampon thing is that she sends him to buy tampons and he goes without making a fuss, but I doubt it....lol

This book was just painful. And not in the good way.

But no it's not a trip to the store. And I can't believe you made me admit that I've read more than one of the books

Jamie Dornan is just not doing it for me as Christian. That said, we have a girl's night already planned. Our local movie theater will probably do what they did with the Magic Mike movies and sell cosmos in glow in the dark cups and promote a total ladies night out.

I enjoyed the books, and will go to the theatre to see the movie, but this guy isn't Christian in my mind either. I'm looking forward to the movie. I was/am not a Twilight fan at all.
Thanks for the trailer, I don't typically watch them.

I enjoyed the books. I got past the writing because I told myself it was being told from the perspective of a 23 (?) year old girl, not a Pulitzer Prize-winning scholar. And I think the writing style matched that. I just didn't over-think it.
As for the trailer/movie, yeah, I'd be up for that. But probably with a friend. Not sure DH would pay to see it.

I stopped reading after the tampon scene. I kept waiting for her to put another one in at some point but she never did, and I just couldn't take it anymore. It kinda skeeved me out.
I think that dude looks pretty nice, though.

To prepare for this movie you could watch The Secretary with James Spader and Maggie Gyllenhaal. I know this is Twilight fan fiction, but it's my opinion that the author took inspiration from this movie for Fifty Shades. James Spader's character is Mr Grey.

He doesn't look "perfect" enough - maybe its just the scenes they are showing, but I always felt he was perfectly dressed, perfectly shaped, etc. Not buying him..hopefully the movie will make him appear more "perfect".

I saw that movie by accident and loved James Spader in it! That is the type of person that needed to be cast as Christian.
