Just curious - Who are the Scrappers on this board that are from Minnesota?

I am! I know there was a thread back on the old board about MN Scrappers that had a pretty good following. Hopefully some of those peas found their way over here.

cinderelly - Where are you located?
I have had the opportunity to scrap with quite a few of the MN 2Peas group including: Nietra, Sarah-sarasjb, Patrice, Lynette, Barbie, Angel. ( Drat, I know I am missing a few of names.) Some of us still get together once a month.

mamaofdudes - Do you ever get into the St. Cloud or Twin Cities area?
cinderelly - How far are you from the Rogers / Otsego area?

I'm in the Twin Cities. Never had a chance to connect with the MN peas on the old boards. Same here. I tried to go to a couple of the meet ups but the weekends were never good - I always had something going on.

I'm from the Twin Cities (east metro suburbs) too. I was hoping to be able to meet some of the MN Peas at Scrappin' & Chattin' in Dayton when things settle down later this summer or in the fall, or at another crop sometime closer to the Cities. I'm probably an hour and a half away from Crafts Direct in Waite Park (St. Cloud) and an hour away from Pine City. There is a lady I know of who organizes affordable monthly crops at a hotel but she won't start them up again until the fall. I should let her know about this group so she can let the MN RefuPeas know about them.

scrapperlady not too often! I am in St. Cloud a couple times a year, but rarely go further than that. I would love to meet up with Peas for a crop, but for me to drive there I'd want to make a weekend out of it so that it's worth the drive.

crazy4scraps - I am about a half hour from Crafts Direct and an hour and a half from Pine City. I was going to the Archivers crops and the Scrappin N Chattin with other Peas. Now, it's just Scrappin N Chattin. Our next crop is the 3rd weekend in August.
Would you please keep us posted on the crops that your friend holds?
mamaofdudes - The Scrappin & Chattin Crops are held in house located in the Rogers area. It is a little further south of Crafts Direct and just off of 94. They hold the crop on Fri. night, Sat. & Sun. The downside is that you would have to stay in a hotel.
Another Pea was trying to get a crop together at Pine City. I will let you know if it happens. Pine City has both a store & a place to stay on site.

I'm from the north metro area. If any of you haven't been to Crafts Direct in St Cloud, it's worth the drive. They have a lot of great scrappy stuff.

Crafts Direct is my 'go to' store. Scrappy friends that see it for the first time referred to it as a 'scrapbook store on steroids.'

I emailed the lady who organizes the crops in the Cities (Holiday Inn Express, Vadnais Heights) and told her about this group. Hopefully she will join us here. I haven't gone to one of her crops yet but it seems like a pretty good deal. She charges $15 if you pay in advance or $20 if you register a week or less before, and if you wanted to stay overnight at the hotel that would be extra. They run from 9 am Saturday through 5 am Sunday or until the last one drops, LOL. I think she will start back up in September.

Crazy4scraps - I signed up for one of those, I think. We ended up having to relocate to another location, down by 3M on 94. It was a fun day. I did it through a girl friend that knew her.

I'm here! I'm in the Lake Calhoun/Uptown/Linden Hills/St. Louis Park area of Minneapolis. I haven't been able to make any of the local get togethers since the one we had at Archivers right before it closed. (It's been a really crazy-busy summer!) I am hoping to be able to get together with everyone again soon!

I haven't ever gone. I just found out about the crops at the beginning of this year and always had too many other things going on to make it on the weekends she was doing it. I need to make it more of a priority to go just so I can get some of my own stuff done.

I'm in Robbinsdale. Was never able to meet up before due to schedules. And I agree about craft direct - that's pretty much the last place around outside of M's and J's. Was actually thinking of taking a trip there next weekend, but once again different plans were made Hope to get there before the end of the summer though

JulieW--I mostly digi scrap too these days! I have a ton of paper supplies still, but I rarely get them out. When I go to the crops, I usually take my laptop.

I live west of Minneapolis. I am hoping to be able to make it to one of the Dayton weekends. I scrap at home mostly, but go to weekend crops in Hutchinson - a friend of a friend owns 3 retreat houses there and she does hosted weekends quarterly.

I don't know if any of you are interested, but I host two weekend crops a year in northwest Iowa (about an hour southwest of Worthington) which is about 4 hours from the cities. It's $150 for the weekend from Friday @ 1 through Sunday @ 3. All meals, lodging included.

I received emails from both of the ladies that host the retreats and crops in the Cities I had mentioned previously, and they have given me permission to post info about their events here. Kathy hosts the monthly crops at the Holiday Inn Express in Vadnais Heights (except during the summer months) and does two weekend retreats (one in January and one in February). She is out of town for another week and will only have limited internet access, but she said I could post her email addy here so anyone interested in the Saturday crops or Jan/Feb retreats could contact her directly at kathnels1@aol.com.
The Saturday crops are held at the Holiday Inn Express (35E and Cty Rd E) from 9:00 am until the last person drops or 5:00 am on Sunday morning. The cost is $15 per person if paid in advance at least one week before attending, $20 per person if not pre-paid (non-refundable if canceled at the last minute unless you can fill your spot). Hotel room rates will be determined when the crop gets closer for those wishing to stay. The remaining dates for 2014 are: Sept. 13, Oct. 25, Nov. 15 and Dec. 6. Once the room rental is covered, any additional profit will be put toward a meal or snacks, she makes no profit on the crops.
The January retreat will be held at Pheasant Run Retreat (www.pheasantrunretreat.com) in Hutchinson, MN from January 15-19, 2015. There are four packages of varying cost. Priority is given to those staying the longest. Contact Kathy for registration information. Platinum- $200, 7:00 pm Thursday through 12:00 noon on Monday, includes goodie bag, crafting space, single bed, most meals. Gold- $180, 5:00 pm Friday through 12:00 noon on Monday, includes goodie bag, crafting space, single bed, most meals. Silver- $150, 5:00 pm Friday through 12:00 noon on Sunday, includes some goodie bag items, crafting space, single bed, most meals. Bronze- $100, 5:00 pm Saturday through 12:00 noon on Monday, includes crafting space, single bed, most meals but no goodie bag.
The February retreat will be held at Emma's Retreat (www.countrygardenretreat.com) in Hinckley, MN from February 12-19, 2015.
Dawn is hosting a similar retreat at Emma's in Hinckley from October 15-19, 2014. As of right now, there are six openings left for this one. There are three packages of varying cost. Priority is given to those staying the longest. You can contact her for registration information directly via email at tdkubat@gmail.com. Gold- $200, 8:00 pm Wednesday through 12:00 noon on Sunday, includes goodie bag, crafting space, single bed, most meals. Silver- $180, 5:00 pm Thursday through 12:00 noon on Sunday, includes goodie bag, crafting space, single bed, most meals. Bronze- $160, 5:00 pm Friday through 12:00 noon on Sunday, includes goodie bag, crafting space, single bed, most meals.
As I noted before, I haven't ever been to any of these crops/retreats personally yet but hope to change that in the months to come. These seem like they would be fun crops to attend! If you would like more information on any of these crops or retreats, please contact these ladies directly and they can get the info to you and add you to their email list for future events.

Pheasant Run is where I go for retreats. The house is really nice and the crop room is large. It is in what used to be the garage, so no steps to carry your scrappy stuff up/down.
I love going there. She just bought another house and it will be opening soon, if not already.
