Lauren I lost my best buddy in august when we had to put him down. I started really healing when we adopted our little rescue kitten who is now almost full grown and the most loving pussycat. You did good.

awww, that is a great way to honor Shadow's memory!! Sounds like they're on track to get along okay, if it's only been a day and they're tolerating each other already. Lucy looks just like one of my first cats; I've always had a soft spot for tiny tabbies.

Aww, what a sweetie. I love a loud purr. I had a deaf cat for 15 years and her purr was so loud. Unfortunately, so was her meow. She would stand on my chest, tap my cheek, a let out a blood curdling meow when she thought I had been asleep long enough. As soon as I would open my eyes, she would drop and roll all over me. Nothing like a mouthful of fur before coffee.

I'm sorry about Shadow. Lucy is adorable and I love how Mina is peering from a tunnel. They both make lovely bed ornaments.

My MIL had a gray cat that looked a lot like yours--and also named Lucy! Cute kitties, for sure.

Congratulations! I love the look on Lucy's face. It looks like shes saying "Yeah Mina, I'm here and I'm staying!" LOL.

Lauren, they are the same as our Lacy (gray) and Jack (white with black on face and all black tail). We has major hissing from Lacy when Jack arrived but now they are best buds.

Lucy is a beautiful cat and I think it's wonderful that you rescued her to fill your heart and help you heal from your grief. I was read 2-3 months after my sweet Biru passed, but DH mourned for over a year and still isn't ready! It's been torture for me being so long without a sweet kitty in our home. I've had cats in my life since I was 8 years old and I've never been this long without one-I'm having separation anxiety so I'm living through other's wonderful kitty news and photos I'm thinking this Spring DH will finally be ready. We lost 2 elderly cats the fall and in December of 2013. I'm ready for some kitty babies since it's been so long since we had any, like two tiny kittens, although I love the idea of adopting older cats. Truthfully I'd love to adopt them all down at our local SPCA, if only I had the funds. I hope Lucy and Mina get along well soon, it sounds like things are heading in that direction so fingers crossed! Debbie in MD.
