I just about al aye have the radio on. The only time I don't is when we're on a trip, and we start losing the stations.

If I am by myself, NPR or audiobooks or podcasts. If I am with anyone, I generally turn the radio off.

I find music very distracting, so I never have it on while driving (or anything that requires real attention.
Then there is my husband who will have 2 different music playing at the same time (radio and a CD).

Radio - usually CoffeeHouse on Sirius, but when my brain is racing I listen to a book on disc.

Mainly silence. I do my best thinking and decompressing in the car

When others are in the car, I usually have nothing on so we can converse easily. By myself, I favor PBS for news/info or the iPhone plugged in for music. On the way home from my mother-in-law's funeral today, I blared Adele's latest album and sang along. I needed the outlet for MY angst I suppose.

Music in the car- my commute is an hour each way. I have been known to turn it off if flipping through my presets doesn't find anything good. I only like the radio- I like to be "surprised" I can't stand CDs or iPods, etc
At home I love silence.

Both - 90% of the time, I have the radio playing but sometimes, on the way home from work, I just like the quietness and ride home in silence. It is nice once and a while.

I like the radio on when I'm alone. If I have a passenger, I usually leave the radio off.

Never silence. 99.9% of the time I'm in my car alone. That's my time to blast my music (CD player-I have a 1999 Honda). Usually it's Marillion my favorite band, sometimes it's other progressive or classic rock. Tori Amos is another favorite. I sing along at the top of my lungs and my world is a happy place. I have Satellite radio (although not installed in my new work car so I listen through my phone). I have it on whenever I can on country music. Helps my mood every time.

I've tried the silence, but it feels weird. I like silence at home though. this is me exactly. My dh will come home from work and want to know why it is quiet in the house.

My iPod is always plugged into the use in my glove compartment so I usually listen to music on that. My usual work commute is only 5-7 minutes so I usually spend half of that time trying to find a song that I want to hear, lol.
If I'm on a long trip, I will occasionally switch to an audiobook. The only one on my iPod is Pride and Prejudice but I never get tired of it!

I couldn't stand to drive in silence, I MUST have noise of some sort. I listen to talk back radio mainly, but sometimes the chatter drives me nuts so I put on a CD or one of the music channels.
A friend of mine recently had to replace the radio in her car so she went without anything for a few days. I could not have stood that, I would have had to take a portable radio or my iPod.

Driving around the city, I like the silence. On a road trip, there must be music.

I usually listen to all the noises my old car makes. When I have decided there is nothing new, I turn an easy listening station on low.

I like to listen to something. Unless driving situations are (what I consider) tense (really heavy traffic, snow, dark & rain, etc.), then I shut the music off because it makes me feel like I can focus better.

Radio-and I'm a channel surfer. We have xm so I have our favorites programmed and I scroll through them. I love the radio controls on the steering wheel.
ETA : we live a good 30 minutes from town so we spend a lot of time in the car.

Always something on. Classic rock or talk mostly if I'm alone. Depends on mood. Music from "back in the day" (highschool) always ends up LOUD. Something about the music from ones youth sticks with you and demands volume. DS16 is always tuning my radio down if one of "my tunes" comes on the radio. What's wrong with that picture? A teen turning down the radio on his old mom?! Lol
If kids (teens) are in car, I mostly let them choose station. I actually enjoy a lot of it and it's their time to have their future LOUD-in-car-music imprinted on their souls!

Mostly with music (radio). I like the silence at home though - can sit in my craft room for hours without music, Netflix or podcast going.

I can't stand to drive in my car without any music, unless I have someone else in the car to talk to.

My commute is 45 minutes, always silence both ways. On days I am home, no tv and no music either, house is silent all day. Occasionally, but not often, I will play a cd if I am going to a concert or want to hear Christmas music but not on my commute. I love the quiet.

Always have something on (radio, podcast, or audiobook) EXCEPT when I'm parallel parking or trying to find an address. LOL, it's just habit, I've always "needed" silence to concentrate on those 2 things while driving.
