I'm pretty sure I will be alone in this, but The Sure Thing: "I'm not going to bed with you. I'm going to bed in a bed that you happen to be in also." No way, LOVE this movie! "Why aren't we moving?! Don't you want to give me a ride?!" "Wait! I'll sing show tunes!!"

Why Godfather, of course! Leave the gun, take the cannoli. I'm gonna make him an offer he cant refuse. Going to the mattresses. Shall I go on? But those are quotes from one of my most quotable movies - You've Got Mail.
If only...

This is a fun thread! Most quotable movie in our house has to be Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Add in all other Monty Python shows, and they outnumber all of the others combined.

For me it's anything from Monty Python, with The Holy Grale slightly in the lead It's only a flesh wound! When danger reared its ugly head he bravely turned his tail and fledwhat is the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow? What do you mean? African or European?

Wow! I love the diversity so far! For me... Pulp Fiction Yes, definitely Pulp Fiction! ETA: I just thought of another one..... Bad Boy Bubby. It is totally the worst movie ever made, but has a bit of a cult following. It has so many quotes that DSO and I throw around all the time. But only if the kids aren't around. I wouldn't even want to post them here. I just thought of another one - Stripes. The only reason I thought of it is because I'm with my brother at the moment, and he just said "Son of bitch, shit!"

I'm pretty sure I will be alone in this, but The Sure Thing: "I'm not going to bed with you. I'm going to bed in a bed that you happen to be in also." Yes yes YES!! OMG I loved that movie, my boyfriend and I and all his mates must have watched that a gazillion times back in the 80's. We could quote it line by line, starting with "Consider outerspace...." "Elliot? You're gonna name the kid Elliot? No, you can't name the kid Elliot. Elliot is a fat kid with glasses who eats paste. You're not gonna name the kid Elliot. You gotta give him a real name. Give him a name. Like Nick." "Nick?" "Yeah, Nick. Nick's the kinda guy you can trust. Nick's your buddy. Nick's the kinda guy you drink beers with. The kinda guy that doesn't care if you puke in his car. Nick." "Hi, I'm Gary Cooper, but not the Gary Cooper who's dead." I'm pretty sure I will be alone in this, but The Sure Thing: "I'm not going to bed with you. I'm going to bed in a bed that you happen to be in also." No way, LOVE this movie! "Why aren't we moving?! Don't you want to give me a ride?!" "Wait! I'll sing show tunes!!" "And I think I'll take your wife if you don't mind."

Among those already mentioned, our favorite quotes come from Elf, Casablanca, Wizard of Oz, Jaws (someone is always saying "we're gonna need a bigger _____" around here!), and Star Wars ("punch it Chewie" is frequently shouted when traffic lights change. Followed by a Wookie roar).
I didn't see where anyone mentioned The Blues Brothers. Someone in this house is always on "a mission from God."
Love this thread!

The top 3 at our house are: Elf Princess Bride What About Bob? I don't know about the whole movie, but I have a few standard lines I quote regularly. Someone walks out the door and I will tell them to "have storming the castle!" (Princess Bride) or when they walk in the room I will ask them "what's happenin' hot stuff" (Pretty In Pink) I am forever quoting 'baby steps' (What About Bob) to the boys when they complain about chores. More than anything though, I am more likely to start singing song 'quotes' that are appropriate for the situation-there is a song for every occasion. A kid complaining about something? I will start belting out the Rolling Stones "You Can't Always Get What You Want..."
