I remember when I first started I was so passionate about scrapbooking. I could have scrapped all day, everyday. Now it feels like more of a chore and I miss the excitement I used to have.
What about scrapbooking excites you nowadays?

New ideas get me in the mood to scrap more. Right now I'm on a mission making backgrounds on my cameo and filling in with scraps and different colors-like Paige Evans type pages. Also on piniterest I happened upon pages using AZZA templates and really like the look of them, even though they aren't new, they are to me. I think they are good to use with landscape type pictures. Anyway those two things have got me interested again. Karen

I just like making stuff and telling stories. When I feel like I "have" to do something, I get really stressed out and overwhelmed. When I worry about whether or not other people are going to like my pages, whether or not it's doing a good job representing the kit club I design for, etc, I get really blocked. When I make stuff because I WANT to and I'm making those pages to make ME happy (even when it's that same kit or I'm still in the end going to put it on my blog and hope someone else will like it too), all that blockage and stress just disappears -- and I LOVE what I make! One of my favourite parts of scrapbooking is adding in all the little details. The tiny touches. Finding the story and the overall aesthetic that goes with the photos is my other favourite part.

I'm always excited after an event or trip. We just got back from a 3 day mini vacation and I am anxious to get the photos printed and do something with them. Also, getting new product gets me excited. I try not to force myself to scrapbook, I know my stuff is there whenever I get in the mood.

I'm really excited about the new project I'm starting - an album I've wanted to put together for years but haven't found the right approach yet. I just came up with how I can do it, and that alone has made me excited again about scrapping stuff that WON'T be in that book...it's taken the resentment away from all my other projects for not being the one I truly want to work on, if that makes sense.

I think I may just need to force myself into my craft room and make some pages. Hopefully just getting something done will help spark something in me instead of just procrastinating and not doing anything.

I organize and look at my supplies more than I scrap! Love 12x12 but am still daunted by it. PL has been making me feel more like a scrapper these days.

For years I hated jounaling, so I just included the facts. But then on a project I was passionate about, I wrote more and let more of ME show on the writing--my personality, my humor, my opinions. It was so freeing! Ever since then I've written like that and I love it.

Hmm, good question! I don't have the same excitement as when I began either, but I think that's normal. For me, a big part of being excited about scrapping is that it is my "me" time. When I am in my scraproom, scrapping or not, that makes me happy. I enjoy looking around and seeing what I have already created, and all the possibilities of what I could create with my supplies. I also enjoy the social aspect of scrapping at crops and my LSS, so that keeps me excited about scrapbooking, too. Scrapping itself ebbs and flows, but I like that I have "my thing" to go to when I need that creative release or social time with other ladies/scrappers.

Great question! I have been scrapping for almost 15 years and I still love it as much as when I started. There used to be so many stores close by to shop in and local crops and classes to go to.
Now, I get inspiration from online blogs and the design team where I subscribe to a monthly kit. I love all the artsy/mixed media with pictures and stories. I feel like I have a great outlet for creativity. It has never felt like a chore (and I am so grateful for that lol)

Getting professional portraits back of my DD. My snapshots of her never have that same spark. Seeing cute new stuff from my favorite companies that I know I have pics I could scrap with it.

Great question. What got me back into scrapbooking and being excited about it was my niece's birth last year and the chance to do a PL album. This year it's about getting ibto digital scrapping. I guess I like to keep learning new things and trying out different things. New products also inspire me but I'm currently in the freezer and trying to be good

Scrapping is my place in life that is where I get to create something, so it makes me feel good. I go through stretches when I'm too stressed to feel creative, but I try to spend some time every week making something, and that feels good to me. I also love getting new scrap goodies and photos in the mail to play with.

I love it but I don't make it a priority and I need to. There was a time where I did every Tuesday night. And I need to get back into that. And I don't know why I don't. My husband has his hobbies that he goes and does. And I have the time I just don't utilize it well.

I've recently discovered podcasts and they have made me obsessed with scrapping again. I like Paperclipping Round Table, Scrap Gals, and Give Your Photos Stories. HTH! I've been in non-scrapping moods before, but they do eventually pass.

I think I'm still just as passionate about it, but maybe a little more realistic as well. I have other interests that I like to pursue. But I've found I'm really motivated by the stories. I'm tired of the overly embellished pages with no real journaling. Although I still will do those pages every once in a while with a fab photo.

Challenges, sketches & trying out new techniques are the 3 top things that keep me interested & engaged. Oh & I love to buy/use new supplies & mix them with my stash. I try to challenge myself every once in a while to use something that I have had a long time but not used recently.

Challenges. I am a member of another board and we have loads of member led challenges, complete with prizes. We also do online crops with challenges built into those as well. I really started getting involved with the challenges right after the new year and have completed over two hundred pages this year as a result.
Challenges help to push me outside my comfort zone; try new techniques and products I may not ordinarily be drawn to; and are fun because of the sharing that goes on.
I'm new to this site but may have to check out the challenges going on here, too!

Creating excited me, often times that comes from scraplifting or being inspired by a process video (I watch NicoleJones911) and it's that amazing burst where I just can't wait to create something! I love a page that feel "well made" (no they aren't masterpieces but they make me happy). I am excited by new kits that come every month filled with goodies. I am excited by my pictures, sometimes they're of a vacation and sometimes they're of dinner but it's great to look through my photos and Project Life to see if there is a photo that grabs me. I love to focus on the small fun things and the big fun adventures but I don't need to make a great point about life and growing and loving, it's scrapbooking and it's creative and fun and I love to play with paper and sometimes it tells a story.

Right now, two things: scrapping black & white heritage photos on 12x12 layouts using brighter fresh colors; and I'm also working on a 1988 Bermuda cruise album in 6 x 12 size (which is challenging and fun) and using the new beautiful Webster's Pages Ocean Melody collection for that album. Well, actually, come to think of it, I'm jumping all over the place because I'm also scrapping current photos of my grandkids. I like the diversity so that I don't get bored.

I'm a traditional 12x12 scrapper, but I had photos from 2006 from our vacation to NYC. I wanted them in an album so it could be passed around and looked at. I did my first PL album (with a few 12x12 layouts thrown in) with those photos and LOVE the way it turned out.

Dedicating extended periods of time to getting pages done at a crop. I feel very happy when I am just in the zone for hours cranking out pages. I love using up product and seeing my stack of pictures get smaller.

Just sitting down and creating. My scrappy time is my quiet time & me time all rolled into one. If it's making a page, card or just organizing my stash it helps me to relax plus I'm getting our story told.
