And it's after 10 pm and you want to start cleaning? I mean really cleaning. I did the kitchen 2x so far tonight. I am ready to tackle my bedroom now. There is lots of stuff to deal with but I want to do a major overhaul and get more stuff ready to donate and more stuff to throw away.
This is not a good sign for me. I had plenty of sleep last night so I am not running on nervous energy or anything. I just want to start cleaning.
Really.
Who wants to start cleaning at night? (This feeling started this afternoon when I did all the laundry and did laundry that didn't need to be done yet).

Ha. No.
I never feel like any sort of cleaning. It's a chore I barely tolerate.

We just moved back into our house and our tenants left it quite dirty so we have no choice but to deep clean. I cleaned all day so now I am cuddling with the dog.

Yep. I'm a night owl, it's when my pain level is lowest for some reason. And...I LOVE cleaning my houses, as crazy as it seems. It just feels so good when everything looks and smells so fresh. Not to say that my homes are always spotless, far from it, but my kitchens always are. I just have a thing for that. Now, I do have a ton of things to sort through, sell, donate or toss. But that's different than just deep cleaning, to me. I really have to be in the right mood for that, and I rarely am.

I want to pull apart my closet shelf. There are tons of sweaters and stuff up there that I haven't worn yet. My dresser I just did but would like to throw stuff out again. I just did this drawer of mine and threw out everything I could from it. I have a mountain of clothes to go through. I am fat right now. That's just reality. I will get back down to my normal weight in about 8 months. I can't see throwing out a whole ton of clothes because they don't fit me right now. If I hated the colour now, or the style or they were itchy, etc., yeah I would get rid of them for sure.
I am just worried I will be up for 3 or 4 days now...this seems to happen at this time of year. I tore apart the house at this time last year and OMG it was spotless!

NO
And if I did get the very strange urge to do some cleaning it sure wouldn't be at night! At 6am I might, but not after around 3pm, that's for sure.

Yeah, I hate doing housework, too. When I get the feeling I need to lay down and let the feeling pass OR I am up for days on end. It never ends well either.
It's 2:30 am. I am not able to sleep. I took my meds but they have just made me groggy and unable to drive, but not sleepy. This always happens at this time of year, too. I went nuts last year at this time as well.
I should go do something as I am just sitting here killing time. I think I will go organize for a while. Maybe I will get tired and conk out.
I do wish there was more laundry to do. I will NOT iron sheets. I hate ironing. (There are spiders down in the basement. I am not afraid of killing spiders, I just can't see them at night and they might bite me. That is never a good thing either.)
Ok wish me luck!

I never feel like deep cleaning it. But I do love when it's freshly cleaned and smells so good.

Yes, I have on occasion - I've taken something through to the kitchen before bed to deal with in the morning, decided to empty the dishwasher......and gone on from there until the kitchen was squeaky clean!

Ok I have taken the 3' of clothing off the bed and it has been sorted into keep, donate, and wait until I lose weight. I will hold onto it for about 6 months and then decide further. I still have a huge stack of clothes to go through that I have to decide what to keep and donate still. I also have I would say 20 shopping bags from department stores to get rid of. I can't make a whole lot of noise right now as it is 4 am. I am off to a good start though.
I did all the laundry in the hose today. I mean a lot. I found a TON more that needs to be done. It's all *my* stuff (of course) but it needs to be done. If I ever say I want to buy another piece of clothing in my life run me over with a steam roller. Seriously. But it is getting done.
I want to go do my bathroom now. I don't want to wake anyone up, but I can do it quietly-I think. Then maybe I'll wash the kitchen floor. Yeah, ok I will make a list of what to do and do it.
Ok laundry, kitchen, bathroom, repeat.
I am not available to come and help organize your houses. Well, I could, but you all live in foreign countries and then I would want to do my normal thing called shopping while I am there. So I won't be helping you. If you want motivation to do your own house, though, I can do that!
Hugs!

I have put on one load of laundry, washed the kitchen floor, cleaned a bathroom, washed the floor again. Now I am sitting because I am thirsty and wanted a break for a couple of minutes. It's 5 am almost so I don't know what to do next. Make coffee maybe? I have a list... I have more work to do on my bedroom. I have another full bag of Mom's clothes to package up. I guess I should get going on that in a minute. I also need to do the mirrors. If I am feeling really ambitions I could do the baseboards again...I need another laundry machine. I don't know where I would put it, but I would like one.

Another garbage bag full of clothes to donate. I could barely lift it. But it is done.
I still have a HUGE stack of clothes in my room to go through and then another stack in the other bedroom to hang up and put away. I can't make too much noise as people are sleeping. I do want to do it, though.
I hope I am able to get rid of 2016 things this year. I somehow think I am going to surpass it. This is just the upstairs. There is still my scraproom that needs to be gone through and the stuff I don't need/want needs to get sold/donated. I think I am at least at a couple hundred. I will keep going through stuff. It all has to go!
When people get up I am going to tackle the linen closet I think. I don't like the way it looks. It is bugging me.

Happy cleaning! It does sound like you are starting on a manic episode though. If it keeps you from sleeping or starts to get out of control please check in with your doctor. We all worry about you and want you to be healthy!

I would love to be sitting on my computer, or napping, or watching TV and have someone else have the urge to clean my house. I would feel completely energized and invigorated to look around me and see things become clean and bright and organized.
I on the other hand, have no desire ever to clean. I am forcing myself to do it in the interest of purging unwanted/unneeded stuff. So far I have cleaned and organized 2 walk in closets, which are nearly as full after the fact as they were going. Never the less I have 4 bags for donation from the bedroom closet and one large bag of trash and I have no illusion at all that I will maintain them in an organized fashion.

The only time I want to deep clean is when I feel out of control in other areas of my life. Cleaning I can control.
I, too, think you might be heading into a mania phase. Watch for the signs.

No, not since having kids. Before kids and when I was in my late 20s early 30s yes.
I need a person with this type of cleaning energy to come to my house lol.

I am the same, I only have a desire to clean if I am very, very upset or extremely nervous about something very serious or out of my control. I do clean regularly, but I rarely have that NEED to clean feeling. I hope you feel better OP!!

The last straw before I was finally diagnosed as bipolar was the time I was scrubbing the kitchen floor at 1am I am the world's worst housekeeper so it was obvious that something was up ... Definitely consider a conversation with your doctor

We all worry about you and want you to be healthy! I agree. I am 100% sure I am heading down that path, too. It's the right time of year, energy surge, lack of sleep, crazy thinking...all the signs are there. I am seeing my psych this week to see what I should do. A manic phase is bad I know but they are so much more productive than the depressed one. I did get 3 hours of sleep. That's not very much, but it is something...

I actually like deep cleaning, but our house is pretty "deep" clean, but with 3 kids there is clutter everywhere. My girls leave their stuff all over the house. So our house is never company ready, in fact, I can't have people over becase it is always a mess. I have to pretend like I am not at home when someone comes to the door.
So I can't ever get the house cleaned because it takes so long to pick up the crap. The crap bothers no one but me.
