It's not scrapbooking related, but it is craft related, so please don't send me elsewhere. . I tried looking on Pinterest and Google, but neither one of those jerks felt like helping me today. Lol I've never modge podged in my life, so I need A LOT of guidance.
Here's what I want to do. . . My son is really into anime, but can't find an anime case for his phone that he likes, so I wanted to make him one. I bought a clear cell phone case and some "satin finish" modge podge. What I want to do is print his favorite anime characters from the computer onto paper, cut them out, and modge podge them onto the INSIDE of the case. My thought is this: if the images are on the inside, they can still be seen, but are less likely to be damaged.
Here are all of my (possibly stupid) questions:
1. Do I have the right kind of modge podge for this? They have so many different kinds, I had no idea! I bought the satin kind, which I'm pretty sure it said for use on paper, but I truly am clueless about all of this.
2. If I use images I print, will it be ok once you put the modge podge on there? Or will the ink run?
3. Will it look ok if I put the images on the inside? Or will the modge podge show through? From what I know about it, modge podge dries clear. But, sometimes when it says a glue dries clear, you can still see crusty looking residue. I don't want it to look like there are dried up boogies inside the case. Lol
4. What kind of paper do you think would work best? Cardstock or printer paper? I'm just not sure which thickness would work best with the medium.
5. Now that all my other questions are answered, how the heck do I pull this off? Lol. Like I said before, I am clueless! I have no idea how to use the modge podge and get the images stuck to the case. Please help.
If you've stuck with me so far, thank you thank you thank you. If no one's told you lately, you're the bestest. I'm hoping some awesome pea out there can help me out. My son starts school on Monday (year round), and I'd like to give it to him right before he leaves for school. If I can actually make what I'm picturing in my head, he'll be so surprised, and absolutely love it. Thank you so much in advance for any help you can give me and for reading this whole long post.
