I'm starting to think that I am the only person in the world that isn't moved to tears by this sentiment from Snape. Yes, it's lovely but I'm just not moved by it. Everyone who ever speaks of it is completely moved, me? Meh. It does change the dimension of Snape but it doesn't change much for me. Dunno. Just an interesting observation. That said, well played Dalai Mama... well played.

10 points to Dalai Mama's house for that response. I'd say 5....
It's really "After all this time?" "Always" But that's the Sirius geek in me..lol

My son still loves them not as much as a few years ago but I think it's more he is outgrowing it. My son took me to see Star Wars a couple of weeks ago (it was my Christmas gift from him-dinner and a movie.) He hadn't heard that the new Magical Beasts and Where to Find Them trailer was out and when he heard the music he grabbed my hand with the biggest, happiest, most astonished, excited and genuine smile I have seen in a long time-it was the sweetest, most spontaneous moment a 17 year old boy could ever produce. We started reading the books together when he was just a little thing and have seen all the movies together and...I am probably not explaining it well, but it was just sweet to see. So all that to say that I didn't know that the kids outgrew their love of Harry Potter.

We're huge HP fans here. My older kids are in their mid-twenties and we waited at bookstores till midnight to get the latest books. We'd stop for pancakes & waffles on the way home. The boys still talk about those outings. Both are married to women who are also huge HP fans (even bigger fans than they are).
The younger boys are young teenagers. They're also HP fans (like they had a choice! lol), but it's a different "feel" since they didn't have to wait with bated breath for each book to come out. They read the series straight through, and the only HP movie they really had to wait for was DH2 in 2011.
All that said, I'm the biggest HP fan in the family. I love (most of) the canon and also read lots of HP fanfic.

When you finally saw how in love he was with Lilly, it just made him even better. I usually don't care for the mean characters, but he had such a human side to him (in the books) that made me like him.

He started to complain that if he married to his girlfriend (never watched HP) they would have muggle children. He practically skipped to get the butterbeer, and I only got to use Dumbledore's wand once in a window because he hogged it. When the dementors appeared on the Hogwarts Express, I heard a pure squeal of glee. I loved seeing my very analytical boy be such a goofy child.

I'm a big HP fan and I've brought several others along with me, including my proudest achievement, my stubborn nephew who flat-out refused to read or watch any HP until I dragged him kicking and screaming to it at age 15, at which point he joined my little cult wholeheartedly. So I want to know, what parts do you not love?

So I want to know, what parts do you not love? Dumbledore being such a manipulator, and Snape dying. (I realize Snape dying is a ginormous part of the canon story arc, but I have to admit I like reading fanfic wherein he lives, through whatever means.)
