OPI Lincoln Park After Dark gel. I just had a manicure this morning and was originally planning to go with OPI You Don't Know Jacques (one of my favorites for this time of year) but decided to try something different.

I am going to a Mardi Gras party at work, so gold, and my ring fingers are green with a purple stripe. The gold is a tiny bottle form my kid that I cannot read the brand, but the green is Trendy from Revlon and the purple is Opi Pamplona Purple.

Hard to capture all the holo sparkle going on here, bit this is Revlon Holographic Pearls over Essie Power Clutch. Sorry for any uneven edges, I have my contacts in so I can't see close up very well. *iz old* Love this! Your nails look great.

I clean up my edges with a tiny ELF brush dipped in np remover, but they're still not this perfect!

Thank you--just lots of practice I do sometimes need a cleanup brush too, but rarely anymore just because I do my nails every 1-3 days. It all started when I was off work for surgery, and over 4 years later I still haven't tired of collecting polish and painting my nails. It's relaxing to me. Yes, I'm insane

I'm the same way, Z*G! I paint my nails every couple of days. It's very relaxing to me, too. I just can't get the perfect edges like that!

For those trying to strengthen & grow out your nails, do try the Dior Nailglow. I've tried the $$ Nailtiques in the teensy bottle, OPI, Essie, Sally Hansen, Mane and Tail hoof cream (works best if you don't have anything on your nails)... Then I kept seeing the Dior Nailglow being raved about in different magazines, so I decided to give it a shot. It is pricey at $25, but it lasts forever. I put on 2 or 3 coats and keep my nails a little long. I'm still on my original bottle I bought 2 years ago. The product description does claim that it makes the tips of your nails look more white and more like a french manicure. It really doesn't make you tips look white. They do look more white than your nail bed. I do like the pinky tint to my nails. I run a white nail pencil under my nails Sally Hansen white nail pencil to make my tips look really white. I used to be so ashamed of my nails and bite at them because they would chip or be so dry I'd get a hangnail and then pick at my nails even more. Then the peas encouraged me to try a mani/pedi, and then I bought nice mani/pedi tools to use at home. Then when I tried the Dior Nailglow, I loved it so much I keep putting it on instead of the other colours I have. It lasts for so long and doesn't look horrible if you have to run out and forget to remove it. I never had thick, strong nails before. I love the look of the old fashioned gel tips (like acrylics), but they would start popping off within a day or two of having them applied. My fingers would swell and the sides of the artificial nails would pop up, letting water seep in when I would wash my hands. When I *do* put colour on my fingernails, I use the Essie gel topcoat because it makes my regular polish last over a week!

Yes, I'm insane I am impressed that you do your nails so often! My 12 yr. old loves to do her nails and polishes them often too. I always thought the nail polish remover was too drying to use often (my excuse for not doing my nails as much! ). Which polish remover do you recommend? Your nails are so beautiful and you do such a good job making it look like you got a manicure at a salon!

We got the Essie gel topcoat a couple months ago and my daughter just tried it with some Essie polish last week. I noticed her nails looked great for a few days (she is 12, so she "chips" off her nail polish). Maybe that works! Do you use it just with Essie polish or does it work for different brands? I would love to have chip free nails for just 3 days!

Your nails are so beautiful and you do such a good job making it look like you got a manicure at a salon! I use the pink remover at Sally's, not so dying as plain acetone. I also apply oil or a Vaseline/cocoa butter/lanolin/Shea ointment right after removal and let it sit for a few minutes, then push back my cuticles, wipe off the excess with a paper napkin, and paint. Doing that every 1-3 days actually keeps my nails in better shape than limiting manicures.

I always read that you shouldn't have anything on nails before you put on the polish, but I see that you apply oil/etc. on your nails. I will try that! Is there any particular brand you use? Maybe that will help my nails!

It's not an actual chemical cuticle remover; it just moisturizes and softens them so you can scrape off any excess, and it's a nice nail moisturizer IME.
