Tonight I'm making stew w/beans and kale. It'll be a warm start to what will hopefully be a nice 3 day weekend.
What's on your menu?
Have a wonderful Friday everyone. Love is in the air this weekend. So, do something you love to do.

My German friend is making us Raclette. It will be my first real experience with traditional Raclette.

I'm undecided. I have leftover stewed chicken, but I sort of want a break from chicken.

I'm hosting Movie Night tonight for my ladies meetup.com group ... we're going to see "How To Be Single" ... it stars Rebel Wilson who I love so I hope it is at least a little bit funny We go to a restaurant after the show so I don't eat dinner before ... but of course I still need to feed my family I was sneaky though and suggested French toast because dd#1 can cook that ... woo hoo I'm not sure what I will eat at the restaurant but I know that I will have wine and enjoy the fact that I didn't have to cook

Tonight we had zucchini, smoked salmon and fried garlic (heated in a pan) and spaghetti. Dessert was super easy: blueberries (from the freezer, DD and I picked them last summer) and custard. With all that healthy-ness for dinner, I'm planning on eating LOTS of chocolate later on.

Friday night free for all, or YOYO as Brandy says.
I'm going to meet a friend after work for wine and "snacks." I'll have to eat meatless because it's Lent, so I'm in charge of "snacks."

Today is my DS' 15th birthday. A couple of his friends are coming over to spend the night. We usually have pizza on Friday nights, but I told him I'd make whatever dish he wanted. He said he still wanted pizza, and he wanted me to make it. Awww! I'll use the pizza dough from the Publix bakery, then add my own sauce. The guys will get to choose their toppings. I hope 3 pizzas are enough.

We've got snow in the forecast for this afternoon and evening, so I am feeling excited. We only get a handful of snowstorms in our winters here, so each one is an exciting occurrence. I have a package of chicken thighs, so I am thinking about either chicken and rice casserole or chicken and stuffing. And a green vegetable, of course. Gotta go dig through the pantry a bit.

There's been so much talk of soup on the dinner threads lately, I wanted to get in on the action. Since neither my anti-soup person, nor my anti-beef/vegetable/everything person will be here tonight, I'm making vegetable beef soup and cheesy onion pan biscuits. I have some texas sheet cake for dessert. Now I need to go clean up my kitchen from baking 15+ dozen cookies for the wrestling meet tomorrow, and get started chopping vegetables. I don't like cleaning or chopping. ETA: @nicksmom , happy birthday to your DS! It's sweet that he wanted your pizza. The Birdhouse Lady , enjoy your time alone! Those times are rare. Mystie, enjoy your snow! When you don't get much, it is exciting.

I ended up making cheeseburgers last night instead of filet mignon. It was so good, I think I might make a cheeseburger again tonight. But if my BIL comes for dinner (my sister is back east visiting our middle sister) I'll make the steak and baked potatoes instead. Unless he prefers cheeseburgers.

I am making broccoli soup, but I think the 2 DS will revolt at that. So I am not sure what else I will fix.

I've had some baby-back ribs in the freezer for forever, so tonight we're finally having bbq ribs, tater tots, and baked beans. I'm using a crock pot recipe I've used before and they come out soooo delicious... a quick run under the broiler for a little browning and they're fall-off-the-bone tender, juicy and sticky... just like they should be.

I've totally failed in dinners this week. I hate it when I don't have a meal plan, especially when I've no-one to blame but myself.
Another baseball night for us, so another don't have to think dinner. I pulled meatballs out of the freezer, dh and boys will have them with spaghetti. I don't have any zucchini so no zoodles for me. Think I might have mine over kale/carrots/parsnips.

Well last night was stir fry and it was DELICIOUS!
Cook/brown chiken in wok/skillet. Prep veggies: I had matchstick carrots, bell pepper slices, sugar snap peas, sliced sweet onion. Prep aromatics: 2 garlic cloves and 1/2 a smal shallot
Take chicken out and place in onion and bell peppers. Cook a few min then add in carrots and snap peas. Cook about 2 minutes. Add in aromatics and cook 1 min.
Add chicken back in and pout in sauce: 1 cup chicken stock, 2 tablespoons tamari (gf soy sauce), 1 tablespoon sugar, 1 tablespoon honey, 1 tableapoon red wine vinegar (or rice wine), 1 tablespoon cornstarch.
I served it over steamed rice. --------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tonigh dh is grilling chicken kebabs and I am serving them with grilled baby yukon gold potatoes and a garden salad. Enjoying this beautiful 85° weather!

I've been prepping food today for my niece who just had a baby this week. (Don't even get me started on it, I'm NOT thrilled with this AT ALL, but not this poor kids fault). Fake it til you make it, right? Well, now that I got my vent out of the way, I'm going to Cracker Barrel tonight for dinner to meet a new friend.

Not proud of it, but McDonald's. It's been a loooong week. I've been late getting out of work every night, and I really just want to take a long bath and eat a greasy quarter pounder. Yes, at the same time.

Change of plans... Grandma is taking the boys to see Kung Fu Panda 3 this afternoon so I am not going to make a big dinner.
Instead, we'll have vanilla yogurt with blueberries and granola. Since I'm not too sure when they'll be home.
