Over the weekend, I pulled out all my 6x6 and 8x8 (OA) paper pads. I cut out some of the images to use as embellishments. I had some canning jars with vegetables in the Farm Girl pad that looked really cute on the garden layout I did of my dad's garden.
I often forget about those paper pads.

I make pretty well all my embellishments. Quilling is my favourite along with punched shaped flowers. I don't use the premade prima flowers very often.

I am curious to know if you make up batches of embellishments to use in future projects? Or do you make them as you need them for layouts or cards? I think I am going to play around and see what I can come up with. I do both. I really love making embellishments so I do just set down and make up batches of cute things without a project in mind. I also create embellishments to coordinate with the project I am working on.

Most embellishments I've made ahead of time sit unused because they end up not fitting right. I know it isn't trendy to be a matchy-matchy scrapper, but alas, it still usually ends up that way for me. Untrendy scrappers unite I am unashamedly a traditional 12x12 paper scrapbooker, I still use stickers and brads and mat my photos, pretty much everything is matchy matchy in my world.

I am not matchy-matchy either. I think it's a great timesaver though. Got to admire the girls who create beautiful things matching. I love a potpourri of things. It makes me happy.

I pre-make and I make them for specific layouts. Whatever doesn't get used on layouts gets used on cards.
