I embrace mine!! I've "earned" every one of those grey hairs lol I stopped dyeing my hair when they had to leave the color on too long (it burned my scalp). It was tough while it was growing out but I think it's worth it not to dye it anymore. That being said, I am lucky to have a "nice" grey color, mostly white. I know not everyone can do it, but I got tired of the expense and maintenance of keeping my brunette hair. I'm sitting on the bench with MDscrapaholic! I have very resistant gray hair - when I started having it colored, I was going every 6 weeks - after a couple of years, every 5 weeks, then 4.5 - when it seemed like I needed to do it even sooner, I had enough - my scalp burned, and it was too much time, and too much money. I went gray about 5 years ago, and I'm very happy with it! (I also have mostly white hair - good genes!).

I go every 4 weeks, but at about 3 i'm seeing roots. It's money well spent in my opinion I usually get my hair cut every 8 weeks, now sometimes we go 12 to add a little length. That saves some money and really who needs their haircut every 4 weeks.

I'm on the 3 week bench to stay ahead of the grays. I use Clairol Natural Instincts but I leave it in for 40 minutes. I must have the toughest hair known to man as it does not make it dry or crunchy, just colors the very resistance gray.

I gave up trying to cover it. I have slices of colour put through to break the colour up. Dark Blonde, lighter blonde and a strawberry blonde. With my natural grey and dark blonde showing through. The regrowth is less noticeable and I can have it coloured every 5/6 weeks. I have it cut everg 3 weeks.

I'm embracing the ever encroaching silver/gray as well, but I've never colored mine. I guess you could say I'm too lazy/cheap/unconcerned (pick whichever one you like, LOL) by it to really care. At this point, it would practically be a part time job for me to constantly be touching it up so I just roll with it. My mom was a hair dresser and she used to always experiment on my hair (including coloring) when I was younger. I know from those experiments that my hair is resistant to coloring anyway which is why once the gray started coming in I decided it would be a losing battle to even bother trying to keep in front of it. Heck, I can barely get myself in to get it cut every three months!

I've been using the ion demi permanent dye from sally beauty supply, which i like, and recently the sales person there told me to try an additive called gray magic which you drop a few drops into the dye. This has worked really well for me. They are always running specials on the dye but full price is about $5 for the color and $2 for the developer, and the gray magic was $5 but it is for multiple uses, It claims 20 uses. But usually the color is bogo or buy the color get the developer, so it costs about 6 dollars total. You will also need gloves and some sort of mixing/applicator - i use an old tupperware and one of those flat paintbrush things for dying hair. And i bought a huge pack of gloves in the health section of meijer for about $3.

I am going every 3-4 weeks, mostly because of how quickly my hair grows...It drives me mad to see the roots...I found a local hairdressing school where the color is mixed by licensed and instructors and applied by students. It makes it very affordable...I pay $25.00 for a color touch up and blow dry!

Started going white at 25. Colored it for years, every three weeks, lots of money down the drain. My hair grows 1 1/4" every 4 weeks, so was not comfortable going longer than 3 weeks. Then about 6-7 years ago, the color was so faded after a week, that I quit. I embrace the white, there is a bit of gray behind my ears yet. Hair has never been healthier!
