Payne, you have a lot of patience to make all those squares. I'm working on a corner to corner baby blanket. I both knit and crochet, and have projects going for both. I have to get my stash whittled down so I can buy more yarn.

Would anyone be interested in a refupea group on Ravelry? I think it would be a great place to share projects and keep up with what everyone is working on. Actually, there is a group on Ravelry from the old two peas. It looks like the activity petered out when two peas closed. Two Peas on Ravelry
I love everyone's crochet projects! Pjaye, your blanket is gorgeous!

Your afghan is going to be gorgeous when you finish it. Right now, I've got three going. A temperature blanket, a giant granny square, and a ripple. I like having multiple projects going at once because it really cuts down on my getting bored with a particular project. I have seen the Attic24 projects linked here and I admit, I want to start one. But I am trying to finish up my current projects first and use up my stash. We moved this summer and I had four Rubbermaid tubs full of yarn in my basement. I'm trying to use it all.

Love the colors you picked, pjaye. You will love making the ripple blanket. Her pattern is easy to memorize and relaxing to work on.

I intend to put some time in this weekend watching the British version of how to crochet......slightly different to the American and how Attic 24 instructions are written......so I don't get more confused than I am already! Attic24 instructions are in British terms. So, that should help. :-)

The site mentioned first in the thread (Crochet Crowd) is American, I am a Brit and Attic 24 instructions use British terms so I didn't want to confuse myself further with crochet by watching a US 'how to' and then trying to follow British instructions.

Those look fabulous, Pjaye. I'm just taking a freeform crochet class on Craftsy. I can do the basic stitches but wanted to get a bit out of my comfort zone. Those circles you are doing are actually one of the things I just learned. I love the colors you used -- sort of muted but still varied. How did you decide which colors to use?

I didn't see that thread, and yes, this was one of the other options I was considering. I really like the look of those as well. Let's not point out the obvious that I live in a hot climate and the chances of me needing multiple afghans is slim... lol, and I gave up knitting because no one wears sweaters in southern California. This is me too, i used to knit and spin but I'm allergic to wool and live in San Diego so i started crocheting amigurumi out of red heart. I was going really strong in the fall on a tissue box cozy while i waited for my oldest at speech therapy but my baby started to get grabby and we've all been sick, i should finish it, it's nearly done! I let a coffee cup cozy sit around for 2 or 3 years once too, but finished it when the friend i was teaching was about to move. So my crocheting goes in spurts.

I've been crocheting since I as a kid as well and luckily never lost the desire - there are periods where I will set it aside to work on other crafts but I always go back to it - I love making afghans. Right now I am working on 2 - a baby blanket and a rather large afghan that I want to cover my whole bed. I have 2 others that I am making right after those are done (gifts) I love crochet because I don't have to really think about it - I can just sit, watch TV and crochet. It is different for knitting (to me), which requires me to count constantly but I don't have to do that with crochet. I just check my count once in a while but don't have to count AS I crochet. Your blanket is going to be beautiful pjaye - I love the colours!!

I made four pairs of knitted socks this winter Once I've got a bit more experience with the afghans I'm going to make myself an adult sized pair of these booties:
Pjaye, you don't need to wait - I've made three pairs of these and they really aren't hard. I love the alligator stitch, because it is so beautiful, looks hard, but really is quite easy. I have the electronic version of the pattern for the adult version of the booties - it is very well written. As soon as I finish the scarf I'm working on - knitting - I will get going on my Lily Pond throw. I purchased the kit on Wool Warehouse - the yarn is so beautiful that I can't wait to start!

Yea, I was like that once too. Just one tub, I told myself, when it gets full I won't buy anymore until this is used.
I now have an entire shelving unit because 6 tubs just weren't enough anymore.

I am trying really hard to resist the packs at wool warehouse. Every time we talk Attic24 here, I go look. And drool. I swear I will finish these three I'm working on right now. Will.not.start.new.project.

Let me know when I can place my order! I MUST have a pair of those rainbow ones in the top right of the picture. How cute are they? I saw them on Pinterest when I searched for crochet, perfect for walking around the house in winter. My old boss used to keep me in stock of knitted socks. Her mum would knit a ton and send them down to my boss, and I ended up with about 8 pairs in different colours. I'm down to my last 3 pairs and I NEED some more. I don't wear slippers in winter, just my knitted socks.
