My Picturemate died months ago. I miss it (I'm uploading pics to the internet and the wait is killing me!) Does anyone use their pixma mainly to print 4x6 photos? The Picturemate was basically goof proof...never had white edges on my photos where the paper didn't line up. Is the pixma basically goof proof?
Thanks for any opinions.

I've got a pixma which I'm really happy with. I print a lot of photos - 4 x 6 plus smaller custom sizes. Mine is a MG5250 which isn't a current model but I'm sure there's something similar. Once I figured out the colour management between iphoto, PSE and the printer I found it really easy to use.

deltakaren,
How long did you have your picturemate? I ask because mine is a few years old now and starting to act a bit funky at times. I love this little printer so much though. I thought I would get at least 4-5 years out of it minimum.

Can you print 2x3 pictures? 3x3? 4x4? Or just 4x6? I have a huge printer that scans and prints pictures but want something smaller for scrapbooking.
Can you gals share info about these printers? Thanks!

I had my Picturemate for years...probably since 2005... I've been in creative funk ever since. Hasn't helped that the last time I had pictures printed at Walgreens I wasn't happy with the results. Didn't help that picasa has paired up with google+ and I haven't had any luck getting my pictures transfered to any online sight to get them printed. I loved the ease of using it, the only downside was that it only printed 4x6, sometimes I wish I had 5x7 photos. It also used 5 colors and black vs the charm which only uses 3 colors and black. I keep thinking maybe epson is going to come out with a new model.
I was using an old lexmark, but something happened and I'm not getting true borderless photos anymore(I now have a narrow white lines on one of the 4" and 6" sides which defeats the purpose of borderless).
I'm tempted to buy a pixma just to try it out, but I always seem to chicken out. I whine to dh and hope he just goes out and buys me something, but no luck so far! It doesn't help that I keep seeing them showcased on mycraftchannel.com, but I don't know if I want an all in one printer.

Thanks! I print all kinds of sizes on either 4 x 6 or letter sized paper in my Pixma. I print a lot of 3 x 4 and 4 x 4 for PL. But I'm controlling the printing either from iPhoto or PSE. Not sure what you use?

I have an old, old Pixma and I love it! I use their software, Photosheet, or Lightroom to print all different sizes. Just about all my photos are done with their software, which is super easy to use. I highly recommend a Pixma. the only downside is that it is not a small machine. I have, however, put it in a 31 bags tote and taken it with me on vacation and to crops!
