Just shaking my head. Hoping your friend is doing ok. It's principals like that, with no common sense, just the need to feel the power and be in control, that are causing so many teachers to retire early. Hugs.

Your principal's attitude baffles me. Where is the moment when she thanks everyone who was there for taking care of a co-worker? When you call 911 we want to talk to someone who has direct access to the patient. We have questions we ask and instructions we give that could be the difference between a good or a bad outcome. Our training is to always ask the caller "Are you with the patient now?" and if not can you go to the patient or get someone on the phone who is with the patient. Therefore - the protocol of calling the office to have them call 911 when there is someone with a cellphone right beside the patient is not a smart idea and could delay necessary care.
