The kits don't excite me this year, but if anyone got the "What today looked like" stamp set and changed their mind or wants to sell it when they're done, I'd love to buy it. I'm kicking myself for missing it...

I guess you could always check your original order to see what color you chose. I ordered the black and I'm hoping its in the mail today. I do have plans to take out those stinkin 2x2 square page protectors! I hate those things! I did order extra 3x8 ones those because I loved the look of them in my last witl album. That's how I figured out that I made the mistake, after mentally huffing about SC for a good minute looking for my order.

mine arrived today. i ordered and received the 'stories' album and i really like the look of it. haven't had a chance to look through all of the cards yet but plan to do that this evening. i haven't decided which week i will record. i will see if anything comes up for the week that ali is documenting but if it is just a typical week for us, i may wait and do my album at some point during summer vacation.

I am in. Participated the past few years, actually completing layouts for the past 2. Both of those years I did without kits, the first I did hybrid layouts with more digital, and it helped get it done faster. Last year I did more like PL style/traditional and it took me a while to finish! I actually won a kit from last year after it occurred so I saved that and will try that for this year. I definitely get the project completed faster if I sort of have the layouts planned out a bit or stick to some sort of format. Looking forward to trying it in a different season in May. I did a lot of WITL posts on my blog this past year, if it helps to see a non-kit way. Am planning to share a video flip thru as this year's WITL gets closer. www.thepapergoddess.com/?s=witl

I like the concept, but don't think I'd do an entire album because my life is boring. It might be fun to try 2-4 pages and throw it in a regular album. I usually just scrap my family.
ETA: Does it give you a list of ideas? I've found some things online.

OK, Ali is getting ready to start next Monday. Anyone playing along with Ali?
I think I will wait, I have work travel coming up next week and don't want to be away from home during WITL. I think I'll do it over Memorial Day weekend to keep my holiday theme. Last year was Thanksgiving and the year before Halloween. I love the mix of everyday and holiday.

I am planning to play along next week. This will be my 4th year for the project and I find I complete the project much sooner if I follow along with her. I looked back over past years projects recently and was surprised how much has changed and how much has stayed constant.

I'm playing along next week. It'll be a typical crazy week in May for us but that's my real life right now. I'm probably not going to do the album in real time though.

I'm playing along next week. I was kinda thinking no, but then I was on her blog yesterday and I got some serious inspiration here, here, and hereI plan to work on putting my album together this weekend.

Yep, I'm in. We just moved last week, so I'm excited to document our daily routines in this new setting. I didn't order the kit--I'll just use stash and I probably won't scrap it in real time, either. I'll probably put it together over Memorial Day weekend.

This really resonated for me this time reading through those blog posts: Ali: Look for opportunities to document relationships. This can be people to people, but it's often even more interesting to capture the relationship that people have to their surroundings - a child to it's bedroom, the family to the dinning room table, an adult to their favorite chair, a child to their most treasured toy. Aim to capture those you love, or yourself, in their environment/element, doing what they regularly do. These are some of my favorite shots.

So did anyone start yesterday? I totally forgot until about 5pm (after running errands all day) that I was supposed to be taking photos. I decided to start today. Then when I went to go take pictures I could only take one because my Iphone storage is funky. I have to call Apple Care today. But at least I got one!!

How'd everyone do with this last week? I admit I had big plans to use my big camera but when it really came down to it I just shot with my phone and I'm totally ok with that. At this point in the school year my phone was easier and more convenient. Started the process of downloading photos and I've got 428 for the week. Now mind you I've got a lot of duplicates (especially when my kids got to take photos) but I'm happy with what I did get. I've already found some favorites in the mix.

My pages are done and I packed up my leftover supplies on Monday. I did Sunday - Saturday. I used 12 x 12 Design A page protectors for my photos and words (one side per day) and 8-1/2 x 11 page protectors for Brandi Kincaid's Week in the Life Journal Boxes. I used less than a half dozen embellishments in all the spreads. The events of the week sparked two stories from my childhood that I've never told so I was thrilled to document those. My pages will never win any awards but the week is documented and I'm happy with the memories captured.

I printed about 80 photos as 4x6 's, some of which I will cut down to 3x4. I started putting the album together today. Not sure I will keep the chipboard dividers. They are really thick and I don't like the grey back. I know I can cover it up but I have learned that if I want this type of project to get finished I have to keep it simple.

I took photos every day. Now I need to put together the album, which I plan to do over the next couple of days.

Is anyone still working away on their WITL? Or finished it?
I finished mine today and BIG lesson learned this year. I did waaaaaaay too much. Doubled the number of photos and probably tripled the amount of journaling. BIG MISTAKE. It is so thick and dense, even I don't want to read it or even flip through it. I pulled out last year's which is much thinner and snappier and it is sooooo much better!
Lesson learned! Next year if I do this project again I will aim for brevity.
How's yours coming along?
