Sorry Pokey's I didn't mean to ignore you.
I have been busy at work, after returning from my two days off last week, as well as still wanting to spend ALL my free moments working on layouts for Calvinball. I will be posting my layouts on Saturday so I will link up with my Flickr gallery so you can take a gander if you care to. I am really having a blast participating in this event.

Happy Saturday! I have been busy being a domestic goddess and a birthday planner. It was my dh's 50th bday on Friday. Yes, he is the big 5-0 and still looks great. So earlier in the week I was working on his gifts and card. He had a great time seeing all my surprises and eating out Thursday night, Friday night and today we has lunch with his folks. We had a very nice time with them and the restaurant was very nice. After lunch, we were near the beach so we went over there, just sat and enjoyed the view. I will get caught up with you ladies this week but just wanted to pop in and say hi. Have a nice Sunday!

nylene, I can see small improvements every week in my vision. I was at a meeting the other day that had powerpoint presentations. I could read it if it was in big print but if it was to small, it was blurry. I was wishing for binoculars!! I go back to the eye doctor this Thursday. I have had a 4 day weekend which has been nice. The weather has been much cooler than I had hoped for. I was going to go to the St. Patrick's day parade yesterday but the cool temps and the wind made me decide to stay at home. I am looking forward to the warmer weather when it does decide to stay! I hope everyone is doing good!

Happy Monday ladies! I am recovering from all the birthday celebration but it was worth it. Ron had a great time and now this week he might have to do a few extra exercises to get all that yummy food off. LOL! I will take some pictures of the cards I made and share them. They came out so fun. So today I hope to get some scrappin started too along with some regular domestic stuff. Cindy- I hope you are feeling better! Sending you some virtual hot tea. Nylene- That lo you made is so cute. You really rocked those layers. Also, I wish your dsil could help us too with computer issues. LOL! I am still getting used to this one but I know I will figure it out. I just feel like my eyes have to adjust. Grandmadee- What types of classes do you teach at the adult school? I love our local school and I hope to get back there to take some exercise or craft classes. Maribeth- You have been having a great time with Calvinball. So happy to see you getting that creative time in with your work schedule. Awesome! Your camping trip sounds like it was relaxing. I haven't been camping in ages. I think I could give it a try again. I want s'mores!!! Jana- Glad your eyes are coming along. Hang in there. Has Spring arrived there yet? Good seeing you here too. Maryann- It is totally ok to share about your son's success. That kid is truly talented and I know you all are so proud. Where did he get in passion for music from? Are you or your dh musicians? My mom is a musician and I am one in my mind. LOL!

Grandmadee- What types of classes do you teach at the adult school? I love our local school and I hope to get back there to take some exercise or craft classes. Kelly, I used to teach high school courses to adults, but these last few years I have been teaching employability skills. These are young people who dropped out of school for a variety of reasons, and who are living on social assistance. The program I have been involved with helps them set a career goal and then take steps toward that goal, as well as help them learn and practice those skills that employers most want in their employees.
Happy Monday! I am feeling pretty dozy today. Had to get up really early to drive dh to and from his cataract surgery. His appointment was for 9AM and we are 2 hours away. Of course we woke up to snow this morning, so the drive was not a lot of fun. It went well, and after we got home we both have been taking it pretty easy.
I had wanted to create either a 2 page LO or a few Easter cards today, but can't seem to make any decisions, so decided to give myself the rest of the day off from crafting. Won't get much done tomorrow either, as I have a dr appointment in the morning, and then dd & her family are coming for supper. Maybe Wednesday...

Hi, Pokeys! Sorry I just disappeared. I went to Card Club Thursday night and by the time I got home I was really sick. I was up all night and spent the next 4 days sleeping and moaning. I guess I got the flu. I called the school to tell them I couldn't come in and I was the 3rd to do so. I think it's raging through our little school. I am feeling better today, but just have body aches left. I want to go to the Caucuses tonight. I'm hoping I'll still feel OK.
I will catch up on the chatting later. I'm still trying to get all the cards made for our Church auction this weekend. When I finish I will have made 12 of 12 different cards. That's 144 cards. No wonder it seems like I've been doing cards forever.
Take care of yourselves and I'll be back soon. Have a great week.

Congrats, Maribeth! You have done a TON of crafting this month. Way to make each minute count!
I have been posting my pages in the Calvinball gallery, haven't counted lately, but somewhere between 20 and 30 pages. Have posted a few in the 2peas gallery, but trying to figure out if GIS has a way to select out one member's gallery posts so I can link that over here.
So far today, I finished and posted a page I started yesterday. Have some photos pulled out to scrap today. Will need an entirely different line of pp for these pics. Trying to decide if I need to clean up my mess from the last few pages first, or just pull out the new stuff.
My only limiting factor is I may run myself out of glue before Calvinball is over. Might have to drive to the LSS early next week to replenish my glue supply. Hey, maybe Jac can join me there to play for awhile. There are extra points for scrapping with a friend!
You see how crazy Calvinball has made me!?!

maribeth, I gave up trying to leave a note on your blog. I think my DSIL has my security set so high I have difficulty with lots of sites. He knows he has to protect me! LOL! You are really on a roll. Just wanted you to know how much I've enjoyed your layouts. I don't know where you get your energy, but I need some. grammadee, how is your DH and his eye surgery? I hope he is doing well. BTW, teaching adults employability skills must be interesting. I'm sure it's sometimes rewarding and other times discouraging. It is so necessary for people to advance. Glad you are getting lots of pages done. Calvinball has really kindled a fire under you and maribeth. Just don't leave us Pokey Peas when you are so speedy! kellyr21, I'm glad you and Ron had a fun time for his 50th. That's a big birthday and it sounds like you did it up BIG. How is the weather there? Ours was snowy yesterday but a bit warmer today. But I have a yellow and a red tulip already opening. Can't decide if it's spring yet, I guess. scrapincin, hope the coughing has let up or stopped and that you can get your strength back again. Waving to all you Pokeys! Have a great day tomorrow.

grammadee , how is your DH and his eye surgery? I hope he is doing well. BTW, teaching adults employability skills must be interesting. I'm sure it's sometimes rewarding and other times discouraging. It is so necessary for people to advance. Glad you are getting lots of pages done. Calvinball has really kindled a fire under you and maribeth . Just don't leave us Pokey Peas when you are so speedy! Dh has recovered well from the surgery. Thanks for asking! I have been kind of mean, making him do stuff for himself, so his confidence has returned nicely. He drove himself into town today to have coffee with his buddies. He has a bit of a break now, but we have to go in for the other eye on April 4th.
Don't worry about my keeping up this frantic Calvinball pace! Have not nearly run out of pictures, but starting to run out of steam. My mojo comes in fits and starts, with lots of barren times in between. Got a couple more quick pages done this morning, but that will probably be it for the day.
And I LOVE hanging out in the Pokey Peas forum!

I came home today to find the cutest little Easter Basket made of paper and filled with chocolate eggs in a package on my doorstep. It was from maribeth and it is adorable. The basket opens from each size and is adorable and lots of work, I'm sure. Thanks, maribeth. You really made my dad! grammadee, so glad you DH is doing well. I couldn't have driven the next day though, because my glasses needed to be changed and everything was blurry. Hope he continues to do well. One of our granddaughters is in Once Upon A Mattress tonight at her Jr High. She has had play practice every night for so long, it will be good to go see the production. I know her mom will enjoy having her home again! Be back later.

Hi Peas! Stopping by to say Hi and let you know I am alive and well. My cough is just about gone- only a couple times a day now. Wow Maribeth what a sweet gesture for Nylene! I think with all her illness so far this year she needed a sweet pick me up!
Grammadee glad to hear your DH is doing well and sometimes we need to be "mean" to get them back to where they need to be. And I am so glad to see you love hanging here! We are glad to have you!!!! It is so nice to have several scrappers adding to the conversation and to inspire us.
Kelly-sounds like Ron had a great birthday-send him my belated Birthday Wishes for good health and happiness!
Nylene-glad you are feeling better. I know your granddaughter will be fabulous in her play. How is the woodworking shop coming?
I still have not made it to check out all the layouts you gals have been posting but will try in the next few days. I have been getting some things done around here-my DH and I spread 50 bags of mulch the past 2 days. Part of this came from the project in the fall where they dug the trench thru my flower beds to get power to the garage. Before that I was organizing my pantry since it is always a mess! Hoping to get to my scraproom tomorrow or over the weekend. My daughter Kellie is doing Easter dinner so I get this one off. I have not had kids this week-Maggie is on break and stayed home. Her 16yr old sister is there too so they have been getting Bobby. Well going to get off of here for now Hope to be back tomorrow. We are supposed to be getting severe thunderstorms tonight but nothing has made it here yet.

Hi all! This has been another domestic Spring cleaning week. It feels so good to get some things cleaned up and throw some stuff away. We have so much dust here and it usually wins the battle but I won this week. LOL!
Here is the card and love notes booklet I made for my dh's birthday. I loved using that little metal piece on the card. The booklet was made with a cardboard base and I filled it with little newspaper cartoons about love. So cute!

Also, here is the long awaited picture of my window valances. I wish I could get a better picture but I think you can see the idea. The fabric is lemon yellow with white circles on it. Reminds me of bubbles. I also used my art all over and that make it feel like me in here.

Nylene- It is nice and sunny here and I wish you could send you some of the warmth. Girl, you made a LOT of cards and I know they are pretty. Your church is going to love them. Also, yes, Ron did have a great time celebrating. We even went out to IHOP last night to use up his free birthday meal. LOL! THis boy loves pancakes.
Maribeth- Thanks so much for the little surprise. You made my day too. What a cute paper basket. You did a great job on your Calvin Ball challenge. I am headed over to check them out.
Cindy- I think we were posting at the same time! Great minds think alike?!!! LOL! SO glad you are feeling better. Sounds like you all are preparing for Spring gardening. If I lived near by, I would pop over and help. I am craving to get my hands in some dirt and plant away! I watch several gardening shows and they seems so rewarding. What type of flowers are your favorites to grow?
Grandmadee- Glad your dh is improving!!! Also, job seems inspiring. My dh works in HR and loves especially working with college students preparing them for meaningful careers. Very cool!

kellyr21, your room looks so bright and inviting. I love the artwork on your walls with your bright yellow valances. I'm sure it feels like such a warm and sunny room. Good job! I'm proud that you have tamed your sewing machine and made it work for you! Lovely! maribeth, how do you keep up with 2 blogs. I really enjoyed reading about the ranch and seeing the photos. Those petroglyphs are so interesting. I'm sure the owner of the ranch enjoyed you two as much as you enjoyed him and his ranch. If I don't get back through the weekend, I want to wish you all a Happy Easter. I'd post some fun Easter art, but don't know how, so you'll just have to be satisfied knowing I hope you have a wonderful weekend with family and friends.

kellyr21, I hope DH had a happy birthday! Spring was here for a bit but it has cold here again. I hope the weather warms up and stays for a bit. Thursday I had my 6 week follow-up from my PRK eye surgery. My left eye is doing good but I told her the right eye still has "ghosting". I asked her if that will clear up. She told me it might not. Shocked I hope that it will clear up and taking longer to heal since he did more scraping on that eye. She said I might need a contact for the right eye or lightweight glasses to get sharp vision in that eye from the astigmatism. I do see 20/30 in my right eye and can read 20/20 in my left. I see her again in 6 weeks. I have been disappointed but trying to keep up hope that it is still healing. I worked all night and ready to get some sleep. I am not sure what is in store for tomorrow. My youngest niece turns 19 and my sister went to KC to celebrate with her. I hope everyone has a Happy Easter!!

knutschen I hope your eye gets clearer soon. Happy Easter, Everyone! We have a quiet weekend here at the farm. Our nephew's wife is coming over later to see if she wants a surplus computer desk for her scraproom. She may want to borrow some of my dies &/or embossing folders as she has been playing with her new Big Shot, and wants to experiment. Easter dinner is tomorrow at my sil's, so all I have to do for that is to roast a ham.

Hello Pokeys
Well I have been quite busy - Saturday we spent all day watching the grandgirls soccer games. One was at 9AM and the other at 3PM, it is too long a drive to come home in between so we stopped at several stores and picked up a few little random items that we have been needing. Then we stopped to pick up a registration form for a week-long 1/2 day summer camp activity at a wildlife park near our home for the girls, then we did our big grocery shopping, came home put groceries away, cooked dinner, oh my, it was a long day. So needless to say I got no scrapping done, and did not even get to post my totals for Calvinball (which would not have been much as I did not get much done last week). My plant was to get all my Courthouse photos that I have printed done on Sunday (that didn't happen either, more on that in the next paragraphy) I did however do some more "scraft" room reorganizing Saturday night after my long day, so I felt good about that.
So Sunday......well, I finished up on my "scraft" room reorganizing (not done, but enough to where I could "scraft" again). Then it was off to clean the entire house in preparation for our camping (starting Wednesday night). As some of you may remember, my long time co-worker and former BFF (who left last February under not-so-good circumstances) used to watch my animals when we vacationed. Since we lost her as our animal care-giver we had tried to bored the dog, but that does not seem to work, and have just left the cat home alone. We have since begun to take the dog camping with us (which he loves), but still leave the cat alone. Last year we went so little that we didn't worry about the cat, but this year with our longer trips we needed to find someone to drop by and say hi to the little guy, so tonight some friends of our are coming over with their teenage daughter to get acquainted with our little guy and we are going to give her some $$$ to come by so he gets some human company. Then after cleaning the entire house (sans floors, hubby gets to do that today), then I spent some time loading up the RV, that way we will only have to load a few food items on Tuesday night so it is ready for hubby to leave on Wednesday morning. He will make it about 3 hours out of town to an RV park, where I will meet up with him after work, and then we will drive about another 3 hours Thursday morning to get to the campground.
Today - Well I got up at 3:40AM and I got about 6-8 Courthouse pages done. I am hoping to do a couple more at lunch, and then do some after dinner tonight. I need to get them all done buy Tuesday night so I can accomplish my goal for Calvinball.
Have a wonderful day Pokey's

knutschen , Jana, I am so sorry you are still having problems with one eye. You are in my thoughts and prayers that it will clear up with time. I hope you don't have to depend on a contact or glasses after all you've gone through. Sounds like you are working hard. Are conditions at the hospital less stressful than they were just before the Holidays? grammadee , I found your layout in the gallery. Your link to the Calvinball site allows us to see that one layout, but no way to hunt up any others. It just shows the entire gallery. So be sure to post some of them here once the contest is over. Hope your Easter dinner turned out nice. maribeth , I am so excited that you are getting some time off to go camping. It sounds like you had a busy Sat. Ours went a little like that, cleaning, laundry, lots of shopping and cooking. We had DD and family of 5 over for Easter dinner. Then we sat around and played board games with the kids. It was a great day together. At Church the other teacher who team-teaches with me taught a beautiful Easter lesson to our 9 year olds. She is sweet and does so well with the children. So, all in all, it was a wonderful Easter. I got a note from Cindy, scrapincin , that she has another little health issue. I'll let her give you the particulars, but we have decided together that getting old ISN'T FOR WIMPS!! We are expecting to have cement poured on Wed. for the Woodshop. (but you know contractors...even when it's your son) Hope we can get going on it. Other than that, nothing new around here. I hope you all have a great week.

Sun is shining. Temps will be above freezing all day and all night for the first time since October. I need to remember to ask dh if he could possibly find me some pussywillows this week. I saw some on my way home yesterday. I also want to take a photo of water running in a ditch with snow still at the edges. Tomorrow might be too late for that! Maybe I will pull over on my drive today. I am off for a fun day of scrapping with justjac Have to print a few photos, stop at the LSS to pick up some glue, my Scrapbook & Cards magazine, and a few other essentials, and then over to Jac's house to play! Looking forward to the company, and to playing with her Minc a bit. Of course I can't find the stamps I "knew" I had to use with it, but I am sure I will figure out something to do with it! Playdate, here I come!!! maribeth, I see you posted lots of pages in the Calvinball gallery. I am amazed at how you get so many done when you are so busy doing everything else. Have a great Tuesday, everyone. scrapincin, I hope your health issues are resolved soon. You are right, nylene, getting old is NOT for wimps!

grammadee - those were from my camping trip on the 10-13, I had posted the totals for those on the 19th, but I had to resized them all to upload so I didn't get to it today. Today will be my last day for Calvinball as i am leaving tomorrow after work for camping. I will post my totals tonight or in the morning. I didn't quite get everything done that was on my Calvinball goal list, but I did make a pretty big dent in most of what I wanted to do. I have to think up my own event to keep me motivated to continue on this productive path. I really want to get to the place where I can be scrapping as new photos are taken or obtained. Hope you are enjoying your playdate with justjac, I so wish I had someone to "scraft" with.

Hi all,
I was just catching up on all the goings on.
Kelly, love the valances and your Ron's card and mini book. Glad the celebration festivities were enjoyed. Nylene, so glad they're moving forward on the wood shop. Send Cindy my prayers and hugs. Jana, how did the dr. visit go Thursday? I had lasek in 2005/06. The dr. left one eye short to help me not need glasses so soon since I was already older. It took me forever to be ok with my eyes at different vision points. I still wear glasses when it's really overcast and diffused lighting situations. I can't watch a 3-d movie at all and fail those 3-d tests. But I love waking up and not having to search for glasses to see a clock on the bedside table. Hope you're still healing and getting use to it.
Waving hello to Maribeth, Dee, and Maryann as well.
I've been busy creating layouts, mainly because I'm too tired to do anything else. My dd has been up in stomach pain until 2 am almost every night for the last 2 weeks and of course Don was traveling for most of that time. She has been feeling good through the day time hours though, so that's a blessing. She had a 3 panel allergy test last Thursday morning and a VNG in the afternoon. Allergies - She had a reaction to 19 of the 30 common allergies. We live on 40 acres with almost 1/2 being wooded. Of course, the only tree on the panel that she was non-reactive to was a sugar maple. It's the only one we don't have on our property yet. Feathers and cat were also allergens, we have 2 cats and we were planning to stop that day and get some chickens. LOL. I called my hubs afterwards and said no chicks until the coop is built. I still have to talk to the ENT Dr., but I'm sure he's waiting for the VNG results, although that Dr. said that at first cursory glance it looks just like the ENT had predicted - her motion sickness is a neurological issue and not an inner ear issue, which will mean a trip to a specialist somewhere downstate. I might have to find one in Chicago, at least then we could visit with family too. As for the night time drama, I spoke with the GI nurse today and we'll be taking both doses of her antihistimine in the morning to see if that helps her to sleep better at night, even though the med usually makes people sleepy to begin with. Leave it to her to be different. I'm starting to do better with the lack of sleep and finally starting to sleep in a bit. Before we'd be up til 2 and I'd still be up at 6. Of course, my brain still isn't functioning quite right. The other day, she wanted hot chocolate. She had to ask for it 6 times before I got it made. The first time I went to make it and cleaned my kitchen counters instead, the second I unloaded the dishwasher, the third I did dishes, etc... She was a little exasperated, but I'm like "woo hoo, I'm halfway to a clean kitchen!" I also got the living room spring cleaned by working it bits. Not as much as I had hoped to accomplish in the last couple of weeks housework wise, but WAY more layouts than I had thought I'd get done in March. So I'll take that as a win.

Good evening Pokeys!Sorry I have not been around again but I started with hip pain the end of last week-thought maybe from spreading mulch well yesterday I woke up with shingles on my backside and that is what the pain is from. I saw the doctor this morning and it was confirmed. So he started an antiviral and pain meds for the pain but did not get the med to the pharmacy until 7 PM so I am just getting started so not much relief yet. This is the third time I have had them. Hopefully I will start to feel a little better and can participate a little more. So sorry it has been one thing after the other. I think if I could get a decent night's sleep it would really help. Maybe tonight! Thanks for keeping me in yuour thoughts and prayers I know they help. That is it for tonight hopefully I will be back tomorrow!
