My Dad's side of my family have been through so much and lately I've been thinking why? Why this family? My aunt had 2 sons. She lost her youngest son 20 years ago when he was 22 when he drowned at a party. Her oldest son got married and had 4 children but lost the youngest when she was only a few days old to SIDS. A few years ago the oldest sons wife was diagnosed with a brain tumor that thankfully was benign and was able to be removed but left her disabled. A couple of years after her diagnosis my older cousin was also diagnosed with a brain tumor this time it was malignant. He fought for years but passed away a few months ago. My aunt lost both of her children. Last week his widow wasn't feeling well and found out her tumor was back so they operated last week. I just got the news today that it was malignant this time. I am just so heartbroken for them. How much more can they take?

Wow, how horrible! Your poor family. I don't understand, either, why some families seem to suffer more than others.

That is a lot! It sounds a lot like me. Have 1 child, struggle 5 years to get pregnant and my daughter dies 6 hours after birth. Fast forward a year or so and we are pleased with twins. My boys were 4 months when my husband was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Thank God it was non cancerous and his surgeon is gifted. It was a lot.
I don't know why certain people get this "lot" in life. All I know is we were blessed with who we surrounded ourselves with! Stay close to the family and surround them with love. It will make a difference!

That is awful. I know a family with similar problems, and it just isn't fair, you're right. I hope you can help surround them with the love and support they need.

Lots of ((((hugs)))). It's so hard to understand why these things happen. I have a childhood friend who is going through something similar. It's very sad. Try to be as supportive as you can (as I am sure you already are).

I am so sorry for your family. Prayers for you guys as you deal with her cancer diagnosis and treatment. If she goes through chemo, have her look into the Chemo Angels program. She will get paired up with a buddy that will write her at least one time a week, and occasional packages to boost her spirits. Lean on your friends and your church during this time. You don't have to bear the burden alone. Hugs.

Thank you for all of your kind words. Unfortunately my dad and my siblings and I don't live in the same state as my aunts family. That makes it so much harder because there isn't much we can do from different states so it leaves my aunt to deal with it all ( including taking care of my Grandma).

This sounds so much like my late DH's family. My MIL's mom has lost two husbands, two children and two grandchildren. She and my MIL are so nice and I just love them to pieces. ((((Hugs)))) to you and your family.

I'm so sorry. That is just so wrong and sad. That being said, your post gives me a bit of perspective about my own life (which is less than perfect at the moment). It seems wrong to complain about anything right now. :-(

There are families/individuals who do seem to get hit over and over. Sometimes it makes you want to just kick and scream for them. HTH do they keep getting back on their feet or even get up in the morning?

Life does seem to be so unfair for some more than others and there seems to be no rhyme or reason to it. I've lived in my house for 5 years and the lady across the street for me has lost 3 of her 4 children and her husband since I've been here. They've recently found out that her grandson has leukemia,he's only 12 and has already lost his mother two years ago. I really don't know what to say to her or her son-in-law when I see them. So heartbreaking.
