In my quest for learning how to cook for me, I decided to old school tonight. I have some chicken in the freezer (I like to boil and debone a whole chicken, freeze in portions and freeze the broth) and I just made biscuits. I am going to make something similar to the broth that we make for chicken and dumplings and ladle it over the biscuits. Or maybe a chicken gravy. Not sure yet, but there will be enough left over to freeze for another night.

I'm making a WW chicken and dumplings recipe (it's cooler and breezy today), and I will sauté some fresh spinach. Fruit for dessert.

Japanese curry and rice for the curry boys. Beef stew for rest. Both dishes are delicious but I'm not bragging or anything.

I tried not to read too many of the posts, afraid I would end up with some killer cravings! I had a hamburger pattie and some unsweetened applesauce. Weird combination I know but I love it

I found some homemade spaghetti sauce with sausage and meatballs from my mom in the freezer. Score!!! Made some angel hair pasta and garlic bread to go with it. Nom.

Stir fry ginger tofu with napa cabbage and sticky rice. A guaranteed favorite for everyone - phew! I would love this recipe! It sounds delishious!! it's an adaptation of a Martha Stewart recipe (serves 4): Ingredients: 2 blocks tofu 8 tablespoons soy sauce (I use reduced sodium) 4 tablespoons rice vinegar 4 teaspoons seasame oil 1/2 cup orange juice (and zest of orange too if you're feeling fancy) 4 tablespoons water approx. 2 inches of fresh ginger - grated 3 cloves crushed garlic 2-3 teaspoons cornstarch 1 large onion cut into chunks 1 napa cabbage cut into chunks (any other veggies that take your fancy) Night before: Cut 2 blocks of extra firm tofu into cubes. Put a paper towel on a cookie sheet, lay tofu on the paper, another paper towel on top, then a dinner plate, then about 4 cans (to weight it down). Leave in the fridge - this is just to drain all the liquid from the tofu. Day of dinner: - mix soy sauce, rice vinegar, seasame oil, water and orange juice - put tofu in a shallow casserole and pour over the above ingredients - let sit for at least 30 mins - spray frying pan with Pam and lightly fry tofu on each side (keep the marinade) - set tofu aside - add cornstarch, ginger and garlic to marinade - heat oil (whatever oil you like) in a large wok - dump all the veggies and cook for a few mins - add the tofu - pour in the marinade Voila - you now have an absolutely delicious dinner.

We went to a farm today and picked up fresh corn, tomatoes, red potatoes and watermelon. So delicious!!

Ground turkey stroganoff - with homemade sauce - no cream of mushroom soup. It was yummy!!

We ate at the Japanese restaurant here at the resort in Punta Cana. Dh and I both has sushi (I had never tried it before...yum!), Vietnamese spring rolls and shiitake crusted beef with noodles. It was all really good!
