I know this was discussed on the other board, but I did not really pay much attention at the time.
I bought a couple of those longer flowing skirts this weekend to possibly add to my wardrobe for school this year. Since the no hose trend started I have not worn a dress or skirt because I do not like my legs. These skirts are long enough that this is not a problem.
The problem is that my thighs rub together and I can see this being very irritating. What do you do about this?
I am still undecided about the skirts since I need to get some sandals to wear with them that I can handle wearing and standing in all day. Gosh I hate needing to buy new clothes!

Several options: tight shorts (like bike shorts or spanx), satin slip shorts (pettipants - you can get them on Amazon, SO comfortable), Anti-chafing gel. I just started using Anti-Monkey Butt Powder and haven't used it specifically for thighs but I think it would do a nice job keeping you from chafing too, unless you're really active.

Body Glide. Runners use it to avoid chafing.

Another chub rub issue I have: my ample thighs 'grab' the skirt, and I end up with a skirt wedgie as I walk along.
Hence, no skirt wearing for me.

Body Glide doesn't do me much good. I must have super mondo thunderrific thunder thighs or something.
Anyway, I like bike shorts for this.

I've used some of the anti-chafing sticks from Gold Bond, but they don't last very long if you sweat. I wish there was a way to keep shorts from crawling up as you walk when you have monster thighs.

Soma sells a slimming "short" that helps with this problem. They are very light and they breathe, so it's not like wearing Spanx.

That problem right there is part of the point of a slip. You aren't the only one. OP, you might want to figure out what's bugging you the most about the feeling. Is it concern about chafing? Then an anti chafing gel is the answer. Are you just bugged by the sensation of your thighs rubbing? Try peti-pants or bike shorts.

Monistat anti chafing gel. Antiperspirant if it is humid.

My DD is a skinny mini, but she wears Skimmies under her skirts. They are like boy shorts, but slightly longer. She really likes them with shorter skirts so that she doesn't accidently give a "show", but I would think they would work with thighs rubbing together.

I wear the bike or stretchy shorts..LOVE them.. they don't ride up either... I do have some Body Glide but never tried it just for day to day wearing, only at races.. so not sure if that would help.

Slips usually help , or sometimes I pat my thighs with a little Gold Bond powder. I had to giggle at the title because I don't know anyone personally who's thighs don't rub together..apparently I don't know any people blessed with "thigh gap" !

Wow! Lots of great suggestions. I think I am going to try either the pettipants or Jockey skimmies.
You guys are awesome!

I wear maxi skirts all the time, they are like yoga pants without a crotch! And they hide a multitude of sins. I wear a maxi slip with mine, you can't see through the skirt however if the sun or a bright light hits you from behind sometime you can see a outline. And trust me, no one wants to see a outline of my flabby thighs.
I do have a pair of pettipants and they work really well to eliminate the rubbing and they are loose enough if you can see a outline, you see the slip not the thighs!
Just checked Amazon for the skimmies, they look awesome. I will order a pair, I'll still wear the long slip though, I just like the feel of a slip under my maxi, the skirt hangs better too. Long maxi slips are hard to find, I ended up finding a vintage Sears one on eBay in excellent condition!

I bought cotton bloomers/petti-pants. Hubby laughed, but they're great. Cotton breathes and they act as a slip.

I use shape ware that are like bike shorts. I buy a size up so they still hold things together but not circulation cutting tight. Comfortable for me.

I prefer the body glide, but I do need to reapply midday (or at least, right before I leave work). If I wear anything snug, like spanx, it makes a slight sliding sound when I walk. Not quite like wearing corduroys, but definitely an audible sound. If I wear anything that's not snug, they totally ride or bunch up. Do pettipants not ride up or bunch up? Are the skimmies nice and quiet? I'm very curious.

Wow, I learned something here. I haven't worn a skirt in forever because of this issue. Or at least I rarely wear a skirt or dress. Will have to give some of these ideas a try.

I wear Jockey Skimmie. They are light weight and even better, they stay in place. I tried them after learning about them from another pea.
