We saw Call of the Wild today. Two thumbs up! The technology was amazing. We saw this as a family over the weekend and we all LOVED it. It was a lot better than I expected and the dogs are precious.

We watched The Week Of on Netflix. It’s an Adam Sandler and Chris Rick movie. They play dads of kids who are marrying each other. It is way too long, has some funny parts, but not super funny, and a lot of heart. Esp at the end. But the story really could have been chopped in half and it would have been better.

We saw The invisible Man Saturday night. Soooooooo goooood! It has serious intense edge of your seat moments. The suspense starts in the first 5 minutes and rarely lets up. Great ending too! 😉

I saw Call of the Wild as well. I thought it was just okay. I'm not sure exactly what was missing for me, though.

We saw Call of the Wild over the weekend and were pleasantly surprised. I think audiences like it much better than the critics do. Hopefully it will do better than all predictions, so there Anyone here watch Heartland? (Netflix) I wish we'd discovered it sooner. We may not follow it through all umpteen seasons, but we're liking it now.. it's well cast and fairly well written. Story lines are mainly about the ranch and the horses, with sub-plots involving the various characters. If you've got a teen or even pre-teen who loves horses, this is your show.

At least I thought it was. I'm glad you enjoyed it

DH and I saw Birds of Prey (and the fantabulous emancipation of one Harley Quinn) on our last date night and really enjoyed it.
It was an impulse choice (nearly went to Emma instead), and a lot of the violence made me flinch but there’s a scene near the end involving Harley and a car horn that actually made me laugh.
Ended up liking all the female characters. Didn’t love the way the story line jumped around but stopped caring pretty early and just enjoyed the loud, colourful, silly-but-kinda-satisfying ride.

We saw The Invisible Man yesterday. I love jump-out-of-your-seat scary movies. This did not disappoint. Elizabeth Moss did a great job in the role. The music was perfect. Take away music in a scary movie and it isn't scary. When I was single and watched scary stuff on TV alone, I often muted the TV.

I went into it with suspended belief since it the Invisible Man! Lol

For example my friend would say just because he’s invisible doesn’t mean he’s silent. Or just because he’s invisible doesn’t mean he can fight like that 🙄

Okay, I'm just going to 'fess up. We saw "Sonic the Hedgehog" and really enjoyed it as a comedy/adventure story! I recommended it to a friend who took her husband, 7 yr old and 5 yr old and they enjoyed it as well. It is family friendly.
My kids played the video game 15-20 years ago and it followed the storyline/look of the game.I know purists hated the first look of Sonic, but they fine tuned his features after the uproar (Stay for a post credit scene.)

We finally saw Frozen 2 today. I did not love it. I pretty much only liked the lizard and the event at the end. I didn’t even like the songs. 😕

I saw invisible man last weekend and really liked it. I thought it could have been a little shorter but overall was happy that I went. Elizabeth Moss was great and very believable.
My friend saw it as well and told me later that she and didn't care for it and thought it was dumb...

It's old, but DH and I watched the movie "It's a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood" last night. Wow was that a hot mess to me!! One, the advertising and title are completely misleading. This isn't a movie about Mr. Rodger's life. It should have been called "The Rehabilitation of Lloyd Vogel--My Friendship with Mr. Rodgers" or something similar. I had a really hard time "seeing" Mr. Rodger vs Tom Hank. It just seemed like Hanks playing dress up and bad theater. Yes, it was a touching story overall but it was not what was expected at all. I don't think I've been as restless and at the same time almost falling asleep during a movie ever.

We saw it too! Popped up On Demand so we figured why not. Like you, we thought it was gonna be all about Mr. Rogers and were surprised and delighted with the Lloyd Vogel focus. Tom Hanks was a little too pleasant, too picture perfect as Mr. Rogers but still, nothing was lost on us. Lesser viewers would say he nailed it We also downloaded Ford v Ferrari and although good, it was waaay too long. It certainly captures an important piece of Americana with its coverage of the origins of race car madness. In Tennessee, it's NASCAR or die. Layce

We finally watched Joker 2 nights ago. I had hyped it up so much in my head and was dying to see it. And I didn’t love it. It made me super sad. And it was really long. I don’t mind long movies, but this one felt as long as it was. My husband actually fell asleep multiple times during the movie.

We watched Uncut Gems. Wasn’t sure what to expect because what little I did read was that it was awful. But not a lot of people have talked about this. My husband said something about reading that people either really loved it or really hated it. But I know that Sandler can actually deliver in dramatic roles. So we watched it.
The movie is well done. There is an intensity right from the get-go. The music is super weird and added significantly to my discomfort. Adam Sandler’s character is a complete shit show. The movie is very stressful. The poor guy has made a serious mess out of things, and he is desperately trying to fix it. And each attempt ends in failure, each failure bigger than the last pulling more and more people in. It’s sad. I thought I knew how it would end based on other movies with the same theme. I was right and I was wrong. I was honestly shocked by the ending. I gasped outloud. And then I squeezed my eyes shut. I don’t squeeze my eyes shut during movies ever. Not even during Hostel. But this shocked the hell out of me and it was too much for a few minutes. I was left feeling very on edge after the movie.
I don’t know what to think about this one. Sandler was great in it. I couldn’t sleep last night. I kept hearing that damn music in my head. I liked it, but I didn’t. I kind of want to watch it again.

We watched The Gentlemen last night ($2.99 digital rental via Redbox). We are fans of Guy Richie’s movies, and this one did not disappoint. I really enjoyed it - mostly because of the cast. I wanted more Charlie Hunnam — have missed him since Sons of Anarchy ended. Michelle Dockery was great — fun to see her in such a different role from Downton Abbey. It’s a fast-paced film with thick accents, so closed captioning is helpful, although at times it couldn’t keep up with the fast dialogue.

Last night I watched Beautiful Boy on Amazon. It stars Steve Carrell, from The Office. It's a very sad and dark movie, but he did a great job playing the distraught and helpless dad of a drug addict. I won't say anymore, but it's very compelling. Now I want to read the book, upon which the movie is based.

Visited the movies with our two grandsons (13 and 11) a week or so ago - they both wanted to see Black Widow which is a Marvel movie. They thought it was absolutely fantastic. Gramma not so much but I sat through it with them and they enjoyed it.
Lots of noise and action - I guess its just what some boys like!

We just got home from the movie Belfast. We're going to Ireland in May so it was recommended by someone in our tour group. It also got an Academy Award nomination for best picture.
It was excellent but we needed subtitles! We missed a good 30% of the dialog but we understood enough to know what what going on.
