We saw Dog with Channing Tatum at the theater today. It is billed as a comedy but it is not. It has some comedic moments but a lot of somber ones too. Not for kids. Trigger warning: PTSD

The Tender Bar is excellent. I think we saw it on Amazon but not sure. Very deep, though provoking. Sweet.

We watched The Gentlemen last night ($2.99 digital rental via Redbox). We are fans of Guy Richie’s movies, and this one did not disappoint. I really enjoyed it - mostly because of the cast. I wanted more Charlie Hunnam — have missed him since Sons of Anarchy ended. Michelle Dockery was great — fun to see her in such a different role from Downton Abbey. It’s a fast-paced film with thick accents, so closed captioning is helpful, although at times it couldn’t keep up with the fast dialogue. I LOVE THIS MOVIE!! i think i've watched it a thousand times. i have it DVR'd so sometimes i just let it run on the tv while i'm crafting because it's not distracting. the cast is great and it's classic Guy Ritchie. Hugh Grant is great in this. my favorite Guy Ritchie film for sure.

Saw the movie Ambulance at the theater today. Didn't get stellar reviews but we enjoyed it. Lots of violence, blood, etc. but it was a wild ride!

We saw Jurassic World Dominion (2022) today.
Special effects were great. The scare/tenseness factor of the dinosaurs was great. The story was okay. It was fun seeing all the different actors but the acting was just okay.
Nothing will ever compare to the original.

We saw Jurassic World Dominion (2022) today, too.
I loved seeing the original actors with the newer actors and loved the new character of the pilot. Also loved there were a lot of references to the original. We were saying afterwards how nothing could ever compare to the first, of course…it was about the awe of how amazing it was to see & have dinosaurs walk the earth again. We didn’t like how they were “training” dinosaurs to ‘attack/kill’ on demand.
There were some intense/exciting moments in this movie - we really enjoyed it.
We also saw Top Gun:Maverick a few weeks ago and liked it more than the original. We thought this one had a better story line and more action.

Saw the movie Ambulance at the theater today. Didn't get stellar reviews but we enjoyed it. Lots of violence, blood, etc. but it was a wild ride! We went to see it a few weeks ago and was surprised how much we enjoyed it. The story line has holes you could drive an ambulance through but, it was great fun. We LOVED Top Gun, and I don't care what anybody says; I LOVE Tom Cruise We went to a theatre where the seats move with the action which made it even more enjoyable to watch. We are going back to see it again, this time with our older grand-kids. I think they'll really enjoy the experience.

I was surprised that my 85 year old mom and 89 year old dad went to see the Jurassic Park movie for their first time back in a theater since covid. They loved it! And when I questioned them about the choice, they said I just didn't get it. 😄 I haven't seen any of the movies. The book was enough for me.

DH, DS and I went to see Devotion at the movie theater today. We all loved it and shed a few tears. It's a true story about some Navy pilots during the Korean War in 1950. One of the lead actors was a pilot in Top Gun Maverick.

Today we saw Avatar: The Way of Water. As expected, the cinematography was amazing. We wish we had watched the first one again to refresh our memories as we couldn't remember a lot of details. I was surprised to see Kate Winslet in the credits at the end. Had no idea she was in the movie.

I just watched the first one a couple of years ago. I REALLY hate long movies and it felt like we went from 1:30 to 2:45 ALL THE TIME. I want to be entertained, but it just feels like FLUFF.

I feel the same way as we usually skip long movies. We really wanted to see this one though and went for it. Interestingly, none of us got up during the movie to go to the bathroom which is amazing!

Today we went to see The Fablemans. It chronicles Steven Spielberg's life from a young boy until right after he graduates from high school. We both enjoyed it.

I went to see Tom Hanks in A Man Called Otto (based on the book a Man Called Ove)
I loved the book and Hanks is great in the role. But I had forgotten how sad it was...I was in danger of doing the ugly cry at the end. I had to really control it as we were going out afterwards and I didn't want to look like a mess. I'd recommend it, it's a beautiful film, but know what you're in for - it's not a light cheery movie.
Be warned, don't wear eye make-up and take tissues.

Thanks for your review pjaye, I’m going to see this later today. My friend is always scolding me for unwittingly picking sad films (I generally don’t read the synopsis, but just check what the overall rating is on IMDB). I can warn him beforehand that this one is sad, and take enough tissues for both of us! 😄

Interestingly the movie is billed as a comedy/drama. We had wanted to see it today but it was pretty much sold out. But I'm glad we saw The Fablemans instead. We'll see Otto next week.

Lyle Lyle crocodile and puss in boots for me (small kids). Puss in boots a clear winner, looked at my phone at least five times in the other one as I was so bored.

We both absolutely loved it pjaye! And there were many tears at the end - not all of them mine. 😄 The ending was sad, but not depressing I thought. It was the best film I’ve seen in ages. This week's cinema trip is to see Till. I’m expecting it to be somewhat intense.

We saw Missing today. It's about a woman who goes on vacation to Columbia with her boyfriend and they they disappear. The main character is the 18-year-old daughter who uses social media/computer to try to track down her mom. DH gave it a 7/10 mainly because he isn't into social media. I thought it was a pretty decent mystery thriller compared to everything out there right now.

We saw 80 for Brady. It was cute and I didn’t realize it was based on a true story. It had a lot of cameos from various celebrities-really almost too many and not sure why there were so many cameos. Overall, a good, fun, clean movie

I almost never get to see movies that are not kid movies, but I happened to get to watch The Menu yesterday. I enjoyed it--I like horror, but/and it's not particularly grisly. I know Ralph Fiennes and Anya Taylor-Joy got attention, but I particularly loved Judith Light.

We just got home from seeing Somewhere in Queens starring Ray Romano and Laurie Metcalf.
We enjoyed it ~ went in blind since we hadn't seen previews. It was funny, sad, poignant, etc. Hit all the right spots.

We saw Asteroid City today. (Boredom, getting warm out and wanting popcorn!) We are still digesting ~ the movie, not the popcorn. One of those weird movies with tons of A-list actors including Tom Hanks, Matt Damon, Scarlett Johansen and Margot Robbie.
