I am BEYOND excited! DSO and DS have gone camping for 3 days. DD will be around now and then, but she'll be doing her own stuff so really I am on my own and I CAN'T WAIT! (I really only have 2 days at home because I am actually working on Monday even though it's a public holiday.) When DSO was leaving he said "Have a nice time without us." I put on my best sad face, sighed, and said as forlornly as possible "Yeah, I guess so." He looked at me and replied "Who are you kidding, you're going to love it - sleeping in every morning, not showering and spending all day on the computer!" He knows me too well. You girls had better start posting up a storm to keep me entertained. I intend to spend a LOT of guilt-free time on my computer. I also have a lot of TV to catch up on. Plus a new book to start reading. And somewhere in between that I guess I'd better do some housework so that when DSO gets home it's looks like I haven't just sat around reading/watching TV/Peaing! So what would you do if you had the house to yourself for 3 whole days?

The last 15 minutes prior to them walking in the door I'd be a mad woman cleaning......besides that everything you said. I'd make a run to the grocery store to get what I needed for the weekend and that would be the last time I went out until I went to work on Monday!

I would go shopping, eat when I wanted to eat, whatever I wanted to eat, WHEN WHEN WHEN I wanted to eat. This is a big thing. If I want to eat at 4 pm I am going to. Sleep late or get up early. Walk around in very little clothing if that makes me happy. You know "stuff". I might scrap or work on my planner or something, too.

My dh also left about an hour ago to camp with his buddy tonight Only crazy people camp in Canada in March but I waved him goodbye (They are in a trailer so it won't be roughing it by any stretch) I bought a bottle of wine to enjoy by myself while I watch whatever the hell I want on TV tonight

Um, pretty much nothing. On the day they left, I'd make sure the house was clean (nothing extra special, just so I didn't feel like there was anything hanging over me). And then I would proceed to do NOTHING for three days except sleep, eat, watch tv/movies, read, and listen to music. Then I'd spend an hour before they were do home making myself presentable.
I've been so ridiculously busy lately, a few days of zero responsibility and lots of rest sounds like heaven to me.
Under more normal circumstances, I'd spend more time with friends, getting some spa treatments, shopping, going out to eat, maybe dancing.

For me it would be guilt free chick flicks and binge watching something. I would grab a few things that the boys don't like to eat but I do and enjoy them. I would do a bit of cleaning and laundry but the bare minimum. I would play on the computer, knit, read a book and maybe scrap to. I would love being on my own schedule.

I am so jealous! A quick trip to the library for books, the grocery store for foods that everyone else turns their nose up at, and that's about it. I would love 3 days to myself to recharge and get some me time. Sounds like heaven.

The first time my husband took the kid and went by himself somewhere was when my son was two months old. Since then I have never been able to pretend that I will miss them. I love time to myself. My SIL will complain that I will be lonely and that I should go to whatever she wants to do. Nope, I like the house all to myself with my two dogs. I love it when they come home too.

I know that my SIL will spend the weekend hanging out with friends, she hates being by herself. There is no way she would enjoy staying at home doing what I plan to be doing.

My SIL is really bossy and drives me crazy. She has to be in the middle of things all of the time. She does not understand my need for "absolute silence!" I worked as a teacher and she worked from home, so I can see how we would enjoy different things.

That sounds awesome! The first thing I do is go to the store and buy all the junky crap I don't usually have around the house that I know DH doesn't want to eat (or doesn't like it when *I* eat it--noisy stuff like potato chips and crunchy candy he hates). Then I do all the dishes and do a quick cleaning run through FIRST, so it's done and I don't have to look at a mess or live in a pigsty while they're gone. Once that's done, I either putz around on the iPad, feeling zero guilt over playing silly games, Peaing, looking at Pinterest, whatever. If I feel like it and my studio isn't a total dump, I'll go down there and work on some stuff for a while. When I finally decide to go to bed, I make sure the dang blasted stupid alarm clock is OFF and that all of my bedroom blackout blinds are all the way closed (DH likes them open, which I detest). If I know in advance that they'll be gone, I'll even invite some friends to come scrap with me. That's the best!

I cook from scratch most of the time but I'd treat myself to a take-away or microwave meal, I'd buy some chocolate and treats for the evening, I might get a visiting beautician to come home and give me a pedicure or back massage..............so many possibilities!! Have a ball - and let us know what you enjoyed most

I'm just ending a week in my own, and loved it. I watched 8 episodes of Botched, Pride and Prejudice three times, slept with both the dog and the cat in the bed, got a mani, pedi and massage, and woke up late every day. enjoy your free time!

Lucky you! When I get to be home alone, I always order Indian take- away or BBQ chicken ribs and wings!! Living in a busy household of 5 I love the quietness and often don't watch tv at all. Love taking a book outside, sitting in the sun, listening to the birds and not talking to anyone at all is just wonderful.

I'd make a run to the grocery store to get what I needed for the weekend and that would be the last time I went out until I went to work on Monday! Yes! I go to the deli at a local high end grocer and pick up premade meals. I stay in my pj's and play on the computer, scrapbook, and just putter around the house. Sometimes I don't even answer the phone.

I have a boy free weekend too. I had a thing at my house this week which means all my major housework has already been done, so my people free weekend is going to be binge watching something (I am thinking the new season of the Harry Bosch series on Amazon) and working on the mending pile. Sounds exciting, doesn't it??

Ha! I ruined all her plans. No home alone time. We went out for dinner, then dessert, then lots of talking...well she talked, I'm a quiet little thing, so I just nodded a lot 00:40am and she just drove off.

I have almost 4 days by myself coming up! I have "dates" with 2 of my BFFs set up, a massage scheduled, and the carpets are getting cleaned. I may go buy a car too. Lol.
