I leave drawers open. I have to stop myself and check a room before I leave. I do a lot of projects at once and leave something unfinished for a while. Our brains are wired completely differently. He does one project or activity until it is finished. I do seven.

I take way too long to tell him a story. He wants everyone to just get to the point as quickly as possible, while I believe that it is all those little details that make the story more interesting. I think I love your DH! ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) I had a boss at a credit union years ago and one of the employees was *the worst* at getting to the point. I mean I've seen a lot of this in my time but she takes the prize. If you needed to know about this customer you'd end up knowing where she was born, what the weather was, how she broke her leg, and what color her uncle's truck is! Seriously. It was bad. So this boss would look at her, clap her hands together and say "Melissa, nouns and verbs!". It still cracks me up. Just give me the nouns and verbs! ![](http://i1168.photobucket.com/albums/r481/2peasrefugees/Smilies/laugh.jpg.gif) As for the OP, I'm messy and I think it drives DH a little batty. I'm not sure what else he'd say though.

I think I probably do lots of things that annoy him but I'm lucky, he is very tolerant.
One thing I KNOW annoys him . . . when he's telling me about something that happened at work, for example, I ask questions as they pop into my mind - in a conversational manner (I don't consider it interrupting) - and I have learned that when he's telling me something like that he would prefer that I just let him get it all out (lest he lose his train of thought) and save my questions for when he's done. He doesn't get that lots of times my understanding from that point on is dependent on the answer to the questions I'm asking. I try to remember that he's in "speech" mode and not "conversation" mode.
The other thing that I know annoys him, and it annoys my mom and my kids as well . . . I am very fast on moving things. Drinking glasses and dishes, for example. If he puts one down, sometimes even if it's just to turn his back to get something out of the fridge for a refill, I'm on auto-pilot and I often pick up his plate or glass and start rinsing it to put it into the dishwasher without even realizing that I'm doing it. One evening after his first plate of frito chili pie, this literally ended in fritos on the counter because I moved his plate just as he was turning back around from grabbing the bag of fritos and pouring. VERY annoying. I own it.

I talk in big circles and often repeat my thoughts while I am working out a solution to a problem in my life.
We had a little argument about this the other day because he did this gesture like, "I know, I know" and it hurt my feelings. He understands it better now that we talked about it though. Funny how after almost 20 years you can still have that issue of communication.

She was a roommate for a while and it was awful living with her because she left her crap all over. One night I came home to find an open jar of mayo with a knife sticking in it and open loaf of bread...she got tired in the middle of making a sandwich.

Someone mentioned their DH takes detours while talking. I do that. I end up telling this whole back story that is totally unrelated and unnecessary. I know it starts to bug him when he says "and what does that have to do with this?" or "and your point is what?" That's my cue to wrap it up. ![:-X](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/lipssealed.png) He probably hates it when I use more dishes than necessary while cooking or not rinse things out as much. I do know that my tendency to take forever to fall asleep bugs him. He's exhausted by 10pm and wants to sleep but can't because I'm wide awake. My phone keeps him awake. My lamp keeps him awake. Any twitching, itching, moving I do keeps him awake. It bugs him more during the week when he wants that full 8 hours of sleep vs on the weekends when he can linger in bed long after I'm wide awake at 6:30am.

I'm sure there are a million things. He is a bit of a neat freak, and grew up in a home that is huge and spotless.
That being said- my house is cleaned to the best of my ability, given the time and resources that I have. Sometimes that is not really that clean. Sometimes it's quite clean.
He has learned that if he complains, I leave it up to him to give me more time or resources (help!). This almost always translates into more work and less free time for him, so he doesn't complain that much any more.

He does not like it when I put items on the grocery list that he thinks are unnecessary. He does not like it when he runs out of his favorite snack food because that means I know he ate it all without my knowledge. In other words, he thinks that I'm a food hoarder and I think he loves being a secret snacker!

I'm sure there's plenty of things to be annoyed about, but these come to mind.
He hates when I don't answer the phone or reply to a text right away. He immediately thinks I'm dead or dying.
I'm pretty controlling when it comes to choosing a route to get somewhere. I swear, we are like The Californians.

Mystie mine would hate when I left a tea bag in the sink! "Why not just put it right in the trash?" I don't know why! ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) Also Interrupting Too many details in a story Not enough sex Mistaking his soliloquy for a dialogue - or as a pp said, he wants to make a speech and you want to discuss. It would really bug ME because when it was my turn, I would want a discussion and he wouldn't give any input. I wanted feedback and all I got was something to the effect of "I'm listening."

I'm sorry to hear this, but I have to say I laughed out loud when I read it, from the way you said it, not the sentiment. Now, go over to the other thread, and tell us all about his faults!! I have piles of stuff around and I know it drives my husband nuts. Piles of magazines or papers that I haven't read or gone through yet, boxes with stuff in them, etc... I want to save boxes too. I always think I can use them for something, especially shoe boxes, they're so nice and neat, with lids! I'm not too picky though, pretty much any boxes that come in the mail I try to keep. He usually crushes them and puts them out with recycling. Dink.

I hate the chips at the bottom of the bag, too much of a hassle for me to eat. I figure he will eat them eventually. He doesn't though since we don't like the same kind. I should just throw the bags out, but I feel wasteful, so they just sit because my girls are the same with chips.
I like things in the sink when the dishwasher is in the middle of a cycle and he prefers them on the counter.
I am sure there are a ton more. He doesn't always let me know though.

I'm sure the list is endless. LOL He leaves his side table near the couch completely cluttered with crap(which annoys me) and if I ask him to clean it and he doesn't do it in a timely enough manner for me, I get a box and stack all of the crap into the box and leave it on his spot on the couch. THAT annoys him. It annoys him that I call myself fat, which I am. It annoys him that I'll make a playlist of 20 songs and listen to it endlessly for weeks before changing it. Okay, with the fat comment, I have to say something to you. I do the same thing myself, however, I have 3 impressionable girls and I have really been trying to reign it in. I see that you have 2 girls. How would you like it if they said the same thing about themselves? I have been around the board long enough to know, you have been working on being healthier. You need to give yourself way more credit. Don't put yourself down if for no other reason than I know you wouldn't want your children to put themselves down either and you want to set a good example for them!

It's funny because my "faults" have already been mentioned several times. I'll let him know he is not suffering alone.
I ask a lot of questions...hey, I just want to know what's going on. I don't want sex as often as he does. I interrupt him.

...oh, so many things... lol!
Probably the main one is that I say "I'll do that" (meaning put something away, clean the litter box, etc.) and I really MEAN do it- when I get around to it. But I have the tendency to get distracted (squirrel!) and forget that I said I would do something. Sometimes his timetable is quicker than mine is, so he will do whatever it is because he wanted it done sooner than I would have done it. (but in my defense, if he had asked me to do something right away, I would have done it; he's just not specific enough for the way my mind works.)
The other main one is that I don't have nearly as much of an issue with clutter as my BF does. Examples: My art supplies are piled in the kitchen because I went to a 12-hr crop on Saturday, and it might be Thursday or Friday till I get around to putting them up in my craft room. I leave things (my lunchbag, the dry cat food, etc.) on the kitchen table or island because, well, I'll need it again tomorrow. And I pile my clothes on the stepstool by my side of the bed (or are on the floor)... or the clean clothes get set on the dog crate, and never make it into my dresser.

I do the same as you though, but I don't know why so the next time I get caught, I'm going to use what you've said as my excuse.

I unscrew bottle and jar lids, and then don't put them back tight. He's used to picking things up by the tops, and you can't do that when the lid is loose, apparently! In my defense, my hand strength is substantially less than his.
Also, when driving I like to use the a/c, he likes to open the windows.

Whenever he asks me where I would like to go, I usually say, "I don't care, you choose!" Lol I'm horrible at making decisions, and it's true- it doesn't matter to me where we go, I'm happy with anything! And he's not, so he should decide! But it really annoys him when I say that I have cold feet in bed and sometimes stick them on him to warm them up. I don't like talking on the phone, especially to strangers, so I always have him make the calls or answer the phone when he's here, unless I can see that it's someone I know. Sometime's I correct his driving. I try to only do it when it seems our lives are in danger, LOL! He hates it. Yet, when he misses a turn or has to slam on his brakes for a stop sign, he says to me, "why didn't you tell me?!" Can't win! Haha edited to say... I guess I'm pretty annoying to be married too!!

Oh I never say that I'm fat in front of any of the kids. It's a word that isn't allowed to be used in context to a person because I was labelled as fat as early as I can remember. I know I probably should live by what I preach to them but I still feel fat/like the fat kid. ![](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/R6yG4nI0YHiVm0wktwl4.jpg) And I have been trying to not use it as much but I am still, in fact, overweight by a lot...sometimes it just comes out...but not in front of the kids...only dh.

I don't eat meat and it drives him batshit crazy. Like I'm a small, dependent child who can't POSSIBLY find anything for myself to eat. If he wants to go get burgers or a steak or whatever I'm perfectly fine with that...I'll have a salad or something else that I like and enjoy, but it's always a big, heavy sigh of annoyance that I can't just eat something that was once living, walking and breathing. Sorry, it's just never going to happen. Deal with it and move on. If I'm happy with my eating choices, why does it annoy him so much?? I don't flinch at his foods of choice.
Ok, well, now I'm annoyed at him being annoyed! LOL!!

Dh talks slower than ds & I and we are constantly filling in when he pauses. He does pause for a long time, we have decided. He yells at us & we do try to do better. I also leave trash on the counter, before throwing it all away. Plus when I empty the dishwasher I leave the big things, particularly if they are plastic and still a tad wet.

I don't think he would actually answer this question truthfully and end up saying "nothing" - hah! ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/MNrJDkDuSwqIMVw33MdD.jpg) If I had to say what I do that annoys him, it's that I'm full of ideas but don't actually finish or keep up with them once I get them going. It's partially because I'm lazy and partially because I want to start on another new idea before the last new idea is done being executed.
