nope-- always my first name. Very rarely I'll be called by 'first name-last name' because there is another Jennifer who works here. But last name only? To me, that's very impersonal-sounding and kind of rude- in my opinion, anyway.
And the fist bump? I'd probably look at someone like they had two heads if they tried to fist bump me!! I'm just not a 'fist-bump' sort of person, lol!
ETA: I don't really go by a nickname, either, so perhaps that's why it would be odd to me-- my last name can't be shortened into any sort of nickname, and my whole life I've been Jennifer; never Jenny or anything else. Also never been in sports or in the military. Calling anyone by their last-name-only is something I've never heard at any of my workplaces.

Sometimes but only with a "y" added to the end of it. Kind of like Smith becoming Smithy.

Sort of...at least my maiden name, particularly among my college friends. My maiden name is somewhat common, and it was the character in one of our favorite cult classic movies. So, it stuck with me. I still get called that every once in a while when we get together, even though I now have a long Italian last name.

I think whenever she sees anyone from high school, my sister is still called by our maiden name. She was fine with it. I hated it when people did that as it was often fun for the guys to add on a body part after our ethnic sounding name that started with the same letter, and it made my shy self very uncomfortable so I did my best to discourage it.
As an adult and with my very boring (love it!) last name, nope, nobody does that.

Yep. Every day at work. I teach junior high. We all go by our last names. Even parents do it. Lol

Not often, but it does happen and it's usually in a joking way, so I don't mind. As long as it's a peer. I'm old school when it comes to kids and I expect 'Mrs. Twisted' from them. Wouldn't take to kindly to some teenager calling me 'Twisted'. Whether or not I am is not the point.

Never. That would be extremely odd! My surname is a very common male first name, so if I did hear it being called, I wouldn't know they were talking to me.
And I've never heard either of my kids refer to any of their friends by their surname.

No, but my last name is German with 13 letters and hard to pronounce. We do call a coworker "Graham" though. That's her last name. It started because there were two people with the same first name and so we just started calling the one with the friendly last name by that name.

I'm a high school teacher and the kids refer to me by a shortened version of my last name. It's a nickname that was started several years ago and it stuck.

Yes, but my husband works in sports and it's kind of the norm in that field and so when I'm around, I'll get called by my last name too. Doesn't bother me. And occasionally, with coworkers, we use last names. It's a long story, but it's an ongoing joke.

yes i was in the army it's not unusual to me at all all my kids were called by their last name at school - due to sports kids at my school use the proper Mrs. Civey but i would not be offended if a co-worker hollered out 'civey!' I was going to say not me, but my husband does for this same reason. I also call some of his former shipmates by their last names, that's how they know each other

He might not remember everyone's first names. Maybe the fist bump is a less germy high five.

My LH was a LEO,so yes. Sometimes I was referred to as 128's half unit. I was talking to a LEO friend the other day about the PD. He referred to an officer by their first name, Randy. The only Randy I could think of was retired. Then he said, "Valderama". Then I knew who he was talking about.

I have one friend who does. I think it's fun and don't mind one bit!
I call my husband by our last name once in awhile and it is always in jest too.

I do, because I have a short Italian last name and it sounds cool. My colleagues were also fond of adapting it (not abbreviating as they actually made it longer) by lengthening the first vowel. So Push, for example, would become Pooooooosh.

Only in the occasional email. It's because the format of our names at work shows up Last Name/ First name so if someone doesn't know you well or is not really thinking they automatically use the name they see first.

He might not remember everyone's first names. Maybe the fist bump is a less germy high five. I'm going to agree with this on the fist bump. I fist bump students often rather than high five. Rather bump knuckles than palm to palm. I see a lot of folks in our school fist bumping. I think you get caught up in what you do in this environment, and you do it with others there, not just the kids.

I taught at a middle school and it was commonplace. Never thought a thing about it- but the students never did it.

I used to when I was a missionary by my partners since we never went by first name. Howeve my last name is an actual word which sounds stupid to call someone as (it's a part of the body), so other than that time, no, I think everyone prefers to use my first name to call out to me, lol

DH and I refer to each other by our last name sometimes, but it's usually not a good thing. More of a sarcastic...way to go ourlastname, when you drop the pickles, the jar shatters, and there is glass, pickles, and juice for miles. DS is known by our last name in sports. He's a late 90's Jacob. He was on a basketball team in 7th grade, that had 2 other Jake's on the team. Coach decided the smallest would be called LJ, for little Jake, middle would be MJ, and DS would be BJ, for big Jake. Coach realized BJ, with middle school boys wasn't a great idea , and DS has been ourlastname in sports ever since.

Yes, a colleague at work calls me by my last name all the time. I don't remember the last time he called me by my first name, and we've worked together for 17 years. I call him Poo. Quite a few people call my mum by a diminutive of her last name. For example, just say her name is Parker, she gets called Parky.
