I love the LIKE button! I use that a lot on another board I visit from time to time. I mean, sometimes I want to acknowledge that I agree or like what someone says but don't really need to take up post space to say, "Hey, I agree with you."

I don't want notifications that someone liked my post. Do you mean email notifications or notifications in your profile? Because you can set your notification preferences to not get any emails....I did. It was easy. |

I really really like this new board better than the old board. We have so many new things and better ways now. I did notice we don't have an embarrassed smiley anymore.  I have a lot still to discover about this board still and I'm wondering what the check box is for next to the title on the list of threads. |

I don't want notifications that someone liked my post. You can turn them off in your profile. Go to edit it and click the Notifications tab. Shut of anything you don't want to know about! :-) |

You can do custom smilieys. There is a post around here that gives you directions on adding custom ones.

In order to get custom ones to work, I had to change the preview to the BB markup language to get them to show.

I used it that way all the time. But overall the features here are really good. I think the like button is making me slightly lazy though. It's simpler to *like* something without posting a reply. If you click the check box, you can then do things like marking the thread read, etc. You do that by clicking the down arrow next to "Actions" on the upper right corner of the page, under the board title and reply bar. (I hope that made sense.) |
