I'm barely a B cup. Last summer dd jumped into the pool at a family get together and all eyes were on her like when did DD grow up??!! we had her siz d for a bra recently and she had a meltdown to learn she's a DDD. Shes not fitting into anything off the racks anymore. We went looking for a swimsuit and another bra for her today. Apparently I'm the stupid mom who doesn't understand.
Shes young and and not comfortable with her body I get that.
So where can I help her shop ? She's modest about these jugs she's got.
Where do women blessed with natural boobs buy swimsuits?

I was a 36G and shopped online at Bare Necessities. They carry a wide range of bras and swimwear. I say this gently, I'm not sure how old your daughter is but I gather she is fairly young. if she gets larger and wants a breast reduction at some point, please hear her out. It really sucks to have breasts that large period. In addition to the unwanted attention and inability to find cute clothes, it can do a real number on your posture and self esteem not to mention the back and shoulder pain. It was something my barely a B cup mother never quite understood.
Obviously any decisions about surgery should be made in conjunction with her doctor. I'm not one nor do I play one on tv. :-)

Do you have a Steinmart? They carry Wacoal brand bras. I am a DDD, and they are just about the only off the rack bras that fit me well. They are lady, so they aren't boring, but they do only come in the three basic colors.

Both Lane Bryant and Torrid have swimsuits based on cup size. And GOOD bras for us DD girls. Plus it helps that they are current with trends, colors, and have lots of options.

We actually found a few by Kenneth Cole that fit dd. Depending upon who measures her, she's a DDD or an F

First off hugs to your daughter. It actually sucks to be large busted. I'm a DD and I really like the minimizing bras at Soma. For swimsuits I buy mine at Lands End.

We live in the sticks and have a Walmart. But we were in the city for something so we went to Victoria's Secret where she was sized before but even they don't have too many Ddd but at least they did have one $50 bra she picked out.
I'm not an ogre lol. I'm all about helping her. I really don't like to see her hurting so if she needed a reduction in the future I would do what I could for her. I've seen how people look at her already and yes she's young. It affects her. In a lot of ways.
Thanks. I will check the city for steinmart.

I went from nothing at all to a 28DDD. Bathing suits are very difficult to find in that size that are supportive and cute! I ended up buying a top/bottom separately. It wasn't a comfortable suit and tended to fall off because it wasn't made for my body. In high school, I discovered racing bikinis. They're a sports bra kind of top and bottoms. 25 years later, that's all I will wear! Speedo makes underwire one piece suits that are nice. Bras- go to Nordstrom. Seriously, I did VS (they put me in a 36DD but I should have been in a 32G) and fell out the bottom of the bras. My favorites that don't show nipplage when cold are the Fantasie tee shirt bra. I also like Chantelle but haven't found one that can be worn under tee shirts. Elomi is another large bust maker that is very nice. My nursing bra (yes, 1) is an Elomi. We bought a 38 something or another and had the back brought in to fit me. Nordstrom will do altatins as well. For a sports bra- look into the Natori yogi convertible. Trust me. My mom is queen of the itty bitty titty club. She just didn't get it when I would be in the dressing room in tears. I dreaded swim suit season and formal fittings. Mom ended up making my formals for me.

I will say that Victoria secret is big on vanity sizing. Only they size UP for bras. I'm a DD according to them. I am most comfortable in a C bra. Every woman in my family has a higher cup size in VS than what fitters in department stores have stated.

You've gotten some good suggestions; just want to say I sympathize. My daughter was in a similar size at that age. In her senior year of hs she had a reduction, and it was the best thing ever for her.

I certainly hope your daughter doesn't hear you use terms like "jugs". Won't help her body image at all.

I also second the votes for Wacoal. A little old ladyish but great support and coverage. I will be honest, I never found much above a DD in most brick and mortar stores hence why I went online. If you have a Nordstroms near you, I would recommend them for sizing. It is expensive to buy a bra there but I think you have the best chance of learning her true size.
You sound like an awesome supportive mother. Based on my frustrations in this department, I can't imagine trying to shepherd a possibly moody teenager through it. Sending hugs.

We laughed and laughed and laughed about it. In my yearbook, he wrote "dolly" around my picture. Sometimes you need to have a good sense of humor.

I don't say "jugs" in front of her but she's familiar with my usual mouth. I do try to make her as comfortable with everything from talking about tampons to her body style I'm sure at some point she's gonna hear jugs. Not that it should be outta my mouth. But we're realistic here. The girls got big boobs.
I really do appreciate everyone's help. A lot of things to think about and a few links I can research. Thank you

I like going to Nordstrom for bras. The ladies there are very nice and helpful. VS is terrible for larger cup sizes.

I was that big as a teen. Please let her know that it is possible for them to get smaller over time. Mine did. I think it was all the hormones.
Look at Hapari. I have gotten great suits there. I buy based on cup size. Watch for sales. They run 40% off often. Also, look at Coco Reef suits. Macys sells them. They are bra cup sized.
Also, I know everyone hates VS, but I recently found the best bra of my life there. It is the Body by Victoria Perfect Coverage.

Ugh. I feel for her. I was her as a young teen. It was horrible and the unwanted attention I'm sure makes her very uncomfortable. I hope you find some bra choices that make her feel better.

Figleaves.com has bikinis and tankinis that are sold by cup size. They go up to GG cup and have trendy/young styles.

Lands End sells bathing suits that are available in cup sizes - great for me because I wear an 8/10 in clothing but a 34 DD/DDD bra. I wear their size 10DD tankinis and love them - and they have some cute/younger looking options too. They also last forever. I usually buy one every two years and they don't wear out for well over 5. It's the only way I get something fitting, flattering and nothing hanging out that I don't want! My mom doesn't get it either - she and her sister are Bs/small Cs. Somehow 4 out of their five combined daughters are Ds and up.

Skip the tops that tie behind the neck because you end up with a neck ache from the weight of big breasts.

If you are near a Nordstrom, I would go there and ask for help. They have personal shopper people to help. They can help her with bras, swim suits, clothes in general. She may find it very helpful in learning to dress for her body type.

I have a pretty Wacoal bra. It is darker than mint green and much lighter than teal, it is sheer without being too sexy. It has great coverage, it is pretty to look at, the fabric isn't itchy and it is a 38DDD. I would see what you can find by Wacoal that doesn't look too old ladyish because I have some that are really pretty! I have pink, purple, black, teal and I had a blue one because I ordered and while it fit I couldn't wear it. (I couldn't live with the size it was 38G.)
