I am so much more motivated to clean with good music, but it would be so hard to narrow down my favorite 'get off your ass and get moving' songs.
What are your favorites to help get you going?

I have the same problem. I like Three Days Grace, Skillet, Evans Blue, Otherwise... Peppy rock music gets me motivated. DH likes wordless soundtracks...those do not work for me.

Seriously, Sex on Fire is the best song to mop the floor to! Usually I'll listen to The Smiths, The Mountain Goats, Idlewild, Biffy Clyro or if they can't get me motivated the Abba tracks go on.

I listen to Slacker Radio. Most of the time I search Staind, and similar artists songs are played too. Crossfade, Saliva, 3 Days Grace, Fingers Eleven, Seether, etc.

Maybe that's my problem - I have the same bunch of CD's that I rotate thru. Maybe they're not motivating me anymore and that's why my house isn't clean, lol.
I do find that anything bouncy & fun that I can sing & dance around to tends to make me want to get up & moving. Soundtracks (Grease, Saturday Night Fever) are usually good ones. Oh, and anything from the 80's.

I am not a fan of cleaning, so I never set a time that I am going to do it. I am a one chore a day girl, so I am never committed for long enough to need a playlist.

Def Leppard's Adrenalize cd gets me moving.
But this past Easter I cleaned to Queensryche's Operation Mindcrime, the best of Y&T and Metallica.

I often do Broadway musical soundtracks like Wicked or Rent -- or even a throwback to A Chorus Line.
I'm also very partial to old Motown.
Occasionally, I'll do some R&B like R Kelly, Usher, Babyface, and the like.

Pitbull and the like. It's energetic, "I can do this!" music.
I have a bunch of albums by a friend who's a jazz singer/songwriter. They are great for folding laundry or other mindless chores, but when I need to be a cleaning machine, that music is too distracting - I like it so much that I want to actually LISTEN to it, so it slows me down!

If I am cleaning to music, I just turn on the radio. But I don't have songs on my phone (so technology illiterate)! I often put on dvds while I clean. I have all the dvds to The Middle, and I put them on while I clean. I don't need to "watch" because I have seen them so many times. I love to listen to them.
I also recently got discovered cleaning you tube videos (recommended on the decluttering thread!) and am addicted! I love putting on How Jen Does It, OCD Much?, and My Great Challenge while I clean.

BB King. I've been on a blues guitar kick lately. Clapton's Crossroads concerts. They are so good. There is a channel (and for the life of me I can't remember which one) that replays the Crossroads concerts. I think it is kind of like their filler show for when they don't have anything else to broadcast. Good for me though, means I get to watch some amazing music.  I love how everyone has such different musical taste! |

For some reason, I like to clean to 90s music - Jamiroquai is a favorite. I also like the stereo MCs, Arrested Development, and Blind Melon.

I can clean to any kind of music. Lately I have been cleaning to Adele! I turn that up real loud and sing right along with her (we sound so alike!).
I can do fast or slow, country, top 40, rap, R&B, Christian, rock. I am not a huge fan of heavy metal - so no to that!
