ETA knitters in the title. I'm such an airhead.
I'm still in a slump, I guess. Have started and stopped several patterns that I just couldn't find the right yarn in my stash for, and can't find anything new that has me excited.
I did make this shawl to wear after my surgery but as always seems to happen, I used yarn from my stash, ran out, and had to buy another skein to finish up the very last of it. So much for trying to de-stash.
The Frida's Flowers CAL starts today. Did anyone order the yarn for it? I would love to follow your progress.
Any other exciting (or non-exciting) news to share?

About Frida's Flowers - I've looked at the yarn packs several different times, and find that the price really varies. Just this morning it was one price on the product page and when I put it in my cart it went up. I refreshed and now the price in the cart is the lower one. I'm so confused!
(I had not converted the currency so it was GBP prices that were changing)

So much for trying to de-stash. That's very nice! I love the color choices you can get... I started a granny square afghan. And now I think I may change my thought to a continuous granny square. I will post a picture later (I'm at work...shhhhhh!). I have 5 squares done but I keep flipping and flopping on if I want all squares or just a continuous one.

Here is a picture of my temperature afghan as of last weekend. I'm a little bit further now. Temps have been cold lately so it's been darker colors.

I'm getting bored with the socks I'm making. I just need to finish this sock, be done with that order, and do something else for a while. Maybe, just maybe, I'll take another order for these socks in May. Maybe.... I'm talking about socks like this one (from a previous order).

I've started my Attic24 Cosy Stripe blanket, but it will be slow progress. My aim is for one colour stripe a day, although I didn't do any yesterday - painted my nails instead!

I started an afghan when my daughter had her first heart surgery but haven't picked it up much. Not sure why. Hmmm? Maybe I should do that tonight!

I'm working on an afghan for my cousin, but I have several month to finish it. So I think I'm gonna tackle this. It will go to my SDD's little girl. She'll love it.

(I had not converted the currency so it was GBP prices that were changing) I am about to start my first block of Frida's Flowers right now. I was so excited to see that Stylecraft is also printing the clues in US terms this time. Lily Pond is only in UK terms, and so I am constantly translating in my head. This will be easier. i bought my yarn from Wool warehouse - I wanted to buy it from Janie Crowfoot, but her shop's shipping was $30, as opposed to $4.50 from Wool Warehouse. I am making it in the Life DK - that is the acrylic wool blend. As much as I'd love to make it in the cotton, for afghans I need things that wash well and don't lend themselves to stains. That, and the Cotton was twice as expensive. I ordered my yarn when the colors were announced, so it got here 2 weeks ago. I've gone ahead and made my color card with snippets of yarn, since the names she'll be using in the pattern are for the cotton colors.

I just finished this one the other day. I started this baby blanket while my daughter was having brain surgery. I needed something mindless and grab it now when I want to do something without thinking. Not crochet but this is the beginning of a Hitchhiker scarf that I started today.

The Hitchhiker scarf is lovely! My apologies for not including knitting in the thread title *smacks forehead*

Well I finished my granny square afghan/blanket (never know what to call it)...and it's now hanging over the back of my sofa and that cat is definitely enjoying it! Amazingly Angelique managed to stay off it while I took these photos:
I'm really happy with how it turned out and it was a good project to get my crochet skills back up. I really like the look of crocheting the squares together rather than sewing then, I think it's a nicer effect...not my idea, I found it while looking for inspiration online and decided to use it.
Now that's finished I've made a start on my Attic 24 ripple afghan - I'll take a photo tomorrow. I've done 7 colours so far and I really like using the Stylecraft yarn. I know lainey mentioned having "squeaking" issues, but it hasn't happened to me so far.
Great to see everyone's work!

I started an entrelac blanket over the weekend. I've not knitted in a while and it feels really good to be back at it.

Thanks! She's on the mend and should be healed in another month or so. LOL, no need to smack yourself.

Holy crap, pjaye - that is gorgeous! What yarn & colorways did you use?? Thanks Since it was my first project in a long time, I just used mostly acrylic yarn that wasn't too expensive (in case I gave up half way through!) A few different brands available locally here. I wanted it to go over the back of my couch so I used the colours in my lounge which are grey/silver, white & lilac. However all the white yarn was too stark so I swapped it out for cream and also added a bit of sage green and black for other colour contrasts. I think I ended up using about 12 different colours. I just used the basic circle inside a square granny square pattern. There's 144 squares, but I did the same row for all of them before moving on to the next row.

pjaye your afghan/throw is stunning. I love the softness of the colours. The Stylecraft squeaking issues turned out to be my hook a good wash in some dish soap solved the issue. I used the left overs to make squares for homeless blankets and it never squeaked once.

That's gorgeous pjaye! Really love those colours, it's very 'grown up' crochet! jeremysgirl, I love your temperature blanket. Those colours are working out really well. elaine, I have been switching between crochet patterns in US and UK terms and it is getting easier but I still get confused sometimes. Here is a quick present I made for Easter (wightkate is my Ravelry name).

Great to see everyone's work! Oh MY! This is so gorgeous, pjaye! Truly stunning! Like you, I prefer crochet blocks that are crocheted together, rather than sewn. Your choosing the gray for that is a crowning touch. well done!

That's good - but you really freaked me out with that post! I didn't have my yarn yet and I hate the 'squeak' and then you posted that you didn't like the Stylecraft and that you were having issue. I was worried that I'd just brought all that yarn and was going to hate using it I'd forgotten that could happen with needles...now I think about it, when I used metal knitting needles sometimes I'd have to run them through my hair a few times to get rid of the squeak.

Just made this... www.ravelry.com/projects/karmayarn/dangling-conversationGood Karma was at a local farmers market so I made it with that exact yarn. Mine is in a heap awaiting blocking! Working on an infinity scarf in seed stitch in some gradient yarn I got by another vender at the farmers market now.
