I ordered my yarn when the colors were announced, so it got here 2 weeks ago. Did you get the fuchsia or the burgundy? I'm seeing the first ones pop up on FB now, I like them both, I'f have trouble deciding which one to get. pjaye, your afghan came out great! I am in awe of how quickly you did it. I must be the world's slowest crocheter Thank-you. I started it at the end of January, and once I get started I like to power along...lol. Actually I was watching some of YouTube tutorials by Mikey from the Crochet Crowd and he said if you are doing granny squares work them all at the same time. He said your brain gets used to the repetition of doing the same thing and it will be faster than doing each square separately from start to finish. So that's what I did and I think he was right. If I was doing one square at a time, I think I'd still be going.

Wow, pjaye, stunning! What joining method did you use to join your squares? I used the method shown on this page HERE I really like the extra texture it gives.
@dknitter those socks are gorgeous! I wouldn't want to wear them in case I wore them out. They are little works of art and so detailed.

Well I finished my granny square afghan/blanket (never know what to call it)...and it's now hanging over the back of my sofa and that cat is definitely enjoying it! Amazingly Angelique managed to stay off it while I took these photos:
I'm really happy with how it turned out and it was a good project to get my crochet skills back up. I really like the look of crocheting the squares together rather than sewing then, I think it's a nicer effect...not my idea, I found it while looking for inspiration online and decided to use it.
Now that's finished I've made a start on my Attic 24 ripple afghan - I'll take a photo tomorrow. I've done 7 colours so far and I really like using the Stylecraft yarn. I know lainey mentioned having "squeaking" issues, but it hasn't happened to me so far.
Great to see everyone's work! Holy crap Pjaye, that is one gorgeous afghan! I love it Lots of talent here not his board

If I was doing one square at a time, I think I'd still be going. Since I bought the Stylecraft Life (acrylic/ wool blend), Cranberry is the substitute for the Cotton Plum. It is the Stylecraft Special (100% acrylic) that has a choice for substitutions for cotton plum. For us, the color choice is with the substitute for Cotton Poppy - I chose Crimson instead of Fuchsia. But since that color isn't in this block, we will have to wait to see those differences. Like you, I do all the same thing at once, and then move to the next thing. So, I first made the 4 flower centers, and I've now got 3 or the 4 flowers done. Then I'll start on the background. Since I've been doing Lily Pond and the 3-D flower techniques are the same, it will be less of an initial challenge than it could have been. It certainly isn't a begining beginner project.

Everyone's projects are amazing!
I am knitting a cowl right now. I'm on my third skein of yarn, so it's almost finished.
One of my goals this year was to learn to knit socks. I've been working my way through some simple worsted weight patterns, using both dpns and magic loop (another of my goals this year-- learn magic loop). I've done both toe-up and cuff-down. Next up will be magic loop toe up, and then I'll try using a thinner yarn (sport weight), and will try to learn German short rows.
I just finished a pair of little baby socks for a friend's baby. I'll give them to her with a matching hat. I need to weave in the ends on the socks, though, so they're not entirely finished. I also have a pair of worsted-weight toe-up socks on the dpns at the moment. Actually- just one sock. One is finished and I have quite a way to go on the other.

I'm using the leftover yarn from dd's afghan and making a lap blanket. I'm SO tired of this yarn!! I ordered the yarn for the Cosy Stripe blanket that jennyap is making!

Or are you just saying you made a row of blocks, then stitched them together, then another row of blocks, etc.

Talked to one of my yarn buddies this afternoon and she was interested in the CAL, so we went together on lily pond and frida's flowers. Yeeps!

Wait - so you do an inner circle, set it aside, do another inner circle, set it aside, etc. Like an assembly line? Exactly! I did 144 inner circles, then I did the second row on all 144 circles, then the third row etc It ends up being faster because your brain and your hands get used to the repetition and the same counting each time. Plus because my crochet skills were rusty, the crooked stitches etc were then all in the middle smaller rows and by the time I got to the larger final 3 rows of the squares the stitches were all much nicer and neater. So at the start they looked like this: (the row at the bottom were my test/samples)

Just made this... www.ravelry.com/projects/karmayarn/dangling-conversationGood Karma was at a local farmers market so I made it with that exact yarn. Mine is in a heap awaiting blocking! Working on an infinity scarf in seed stitch in some gradient yarn I got by another vender at the farmers market now. Is that your project? It's beautiful so either good work or good pattern choice If not you, did you add the beads? I've only done it once and it was sooo time consuming but a beautiful touch. Well worth it for my SeaSilk project!

And now for something completely different... The start of my Attic 24 ripple blanket using the 'cosy' colours. I am making mine bigger than the original pattern because I want it for the end of my double bed, therefore I also got another 4 balls that I am incorporating into the stripes as well. Don't look too closely because the light violet colour is out of sync, but I didn't notice for a few rows. Decided not to undo it because the ripple effect isn't really affected...but now I've got the pattern in my head it's pretty easy.

I only let myself do one project at a time though...that makes me finish things! That is definitely the downfall of doing more than one at a time but I having a few to choose from keeps me interested. And they range from easy to difficult, which requires a lot of concentration which I'm not up to every day. I figure I'll finish something eventually!

Love everyone's work - beautiful. Congrats pjaye on finishing your project. It's wonderful. I'm doing Attic24's cosy stripe blanket in fits and starts, currently about to start colour change 72 of 90 so on the final push. I love the colours and am looking forward to bringing it along on summer picnics.
